## What is Coach.AI?

There are two kinds of people at the gym. Some remember exactly what they benched last week. The rest of us nod confidently and load the same weight we used a month ago. I built Coach.AI for the second group, because I was a loyal member of it for a long time.

The idea is simple: you train, and the plan remembers. You log weight and reps between sets, and those numbers shape your next week. If the week went well, the weight goes up, and if it was a rough one, the plan eases off. When life gets in the way and you miss three days, ask your coach to map out an easy way back in.

Getting started

It all starts with a short questionnaire about your goal, your experience, how many days a week you can train, and what you have to work with. A fully stocked gym, home workouts with a pair of dumbbells, or just a pull-up bar at the park: your strength training plan works with any of them. You pick your training days, and your age is factored into the whole plan, because a squat at twenty and a squat at sixty are not quite the same lift. A few minutes later, your first week is ready, laid out day by day.

At the gym

Open the app and today's workout is already waiting. You warm up, work through your sets with a suggested weight for each one, rest with a built-in timer, and cool down at the end. If an exercise is new to you, the library has 400 of them with video demos, muscle maps, and form tips. And if the machine is taken or your knee has strong opinions today, you can ask your coach for a swap right in the middle of your workout.

What happens next

When the week is done, you generate the next one, and Coach.AI builds it from your logs and how you have been feeling. Progress is tracked for each exercise on its own, so your bench can climb faster than your squat, and that is perfectly fine.

Once you are past the beginner stage, every fourth week is lighter by design, so your body has time to recover. And if you show up worn out and grinding through several workouts in a row, that lighter week comes early. Beginners usually do not need these breaks yet, because the first months do not build up that much fatigue. At the end of the program there is a test day, so you can see in real numbers how much stronger you have actually gotten.

The progress screen shows your volume, streaks, and personal records. Every session stays in your workout log with its weights and reps, so six months from now you will have proof of where it all started.

Also in the app

• Quick workouts for the days when a full session just is not happening
• Custom plans, if you would rather write your own weeks (Premium)
• Your Room for winding down in the evening, with a breathing exercise and a few simple games
• Levels that reward consistent training with bonus .AI generations
• A coach with a face, who asks each morning how you slept and reads it before suggesting a weight
• Cycle-aware training for women, if you want it: gentler sessions on period days, with the data kept on your phone
• Bodyweight moves that add reps week by week until it is time to pick up a weight

What it costs

Your first week on the .AI plan is free, so you can train, log your sets, and see how it all works. You can also generate week two and preview what is coming. Premium unlocks the weeks that follow, built from your logs, plus custom plans, quick workouts after week one, and full editing.

There are monthly and annual plans, and the annual plan comes with a free one-week trial for new subscribers. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage it in Settings by tapping your name and then Subscriptions. The .AI generations that come with a subscription refresh every billing period, and unused ones do not roll over.

Coach.AI offers training guidance, not medical advice. If something really hurts, see a doctor first and the gym second.

Happy lifting,
Serj

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.47 — 2026-10-01

It has only been a week since the last iPhone update, but there is enough in this one for a whole letter, so here it is in order.

The app looks lighter. Plans, workouts and progress now read as one calm page, and every workout opens on a photo picked for its day: pressing, pulling, legs, full body or a test day.

A workout is one page from start to finish. Tap Start and the overview simply carries on: the check-in opens under the photo, the warm-up plays right there, and finished exercises stay above, the current one in the middle and what comes next below. The exercise video folds into a small card next to the name, and the app remembers your choice. Quick workouts start right away, no questions asked.

Your coach has a face now. It talks as its words appear, cheers when you finish a program, focuses with you on a test day and takes a little nap on a rest day. In the morning, Home asks how you slept and how you feel, and your coach reads that before suggesting a weight.

The plan pays closer attention. It makes sure every muscle gets its share of the week, biceps with an exercise of their own, and from Skilled up the main lifts are the classic barbell ones. Bodyweight exercises add reps week by week, and once there are enough, your coach suggests taking a weight. If a workout happens a day or two late, the next one moves with it. On heavy sets, your coach tells you when a belt or straps will help.

For women, the app can now follow your cycle: set it in the questionnaire or in Your Room, or leave it out. On the days of your period the session gets gentler, and a line under the weight shows how much lighter it is today. That data stays on your phone.

And a few more: My Progress lists your records of the month, the numbers and charts come alive as you watch, and Level, XP and .AI gens in the menu explain how far the next bonus is.

### 2.0.30 — 2026-09-25

Quite a lot has piled up since the last iPhone update, so let me take it in order: the plan, the tests, the coach at your side and the workout itself.

Your plan now grows in stages. Every level is made of stages, and the plan page shows them as a scale of weeks: your current week in a red frame, the final one under a finish flag. When a program ends, one tap builds the next, and it picks up from the volume you reached. My Progress opens on your path: your level, your stage, the weeks behind you and the programs ahead.

Test days explain themselves. Before a measurement the coach tells you what the test is, how much to do and which number to write down, and the card in front of you is built for that one effort. Your last test, and how far each number moved, sits on My Progress.

The coach is closer too. Home has a Today card: in the morning it asks how you slept and how you feel, then shows the week of your plan, your streak and your recovery. The evening before a workout he reminds you to get to bed a little earlier, and on the morning of it he asks about your night. Never more than once a day.

You can also name the weight you are heading for. The coach tells you roughly how long it takes, praises every goal along the way, and at the finish asks you to hold the weight for a while, then comes back in three weeks with the next goal. The number is yours to pick, and he explains each one honestly.

The workout itself got easier to run. The coach's weight stands on the ruler as a red needle, and a tap puts it in the field. With kettlebells, every weight is a bell that really sits on the rack. Cardio and plank timers adjust with a tap, search finds an exercise by its words in any order, and dragging exercises on the workout overview is smooth.

And tips: the first time you reach a feature, the coach lights up that very button, and you can use it right there.

### 2.0.23 — 2026-09-19

Since the last iPhone update I have been working on three things: the plan itself, how the app looks, and how it speaks.

The plan first. After a light week, your program brings you smoothly back to your working load and keeps building from there. Jumps have a place of their own: once you have a base, they open leg day in a strength program, and in fat loss and endurance they close the workout with a short set. On the test day for those goals, jumps count in reps and cardio in minutes.

The plan also handles pull-up bars, dip bars and TRX straps with more care. Pull-ups and dips show Bodyweight in the weight field, and the main lift of the day is a movement you can keep adding weight to.

On the looks side, buttons, labels and spacing now share one style across the main screens. It sounds minor, but that is what makes an app feel made by one hand. The password field also has an eye, so you can check what you typed before signing in.

And languages. I went through the app in all seven of them: program, week and day names, sign-in messages, quick workouts and exercise descriptions all speak your language.

### 2.0.14 — 2026-09-14

A few versions have shipped since the last iPhone update, so here is what changed while you were away.

Your program now has a real shape. It runs in four-week blocks: three working weeks where reps and rest change, and one light week that is lighter on the bar too, not just in sets. Main lifts stay put from week to week so your progress actually shows, and if an exercise stops moving for several sessions, the plan finds it a replacement. How long a program runs now depends on your experience, and your age is factored in smoothly, with no surprises on your birthday.

During a workout, the mark on the weight ruler shows exactly the number the coach suggests, worked out from what you lifted today, and a tap on it puts that weight in the field. In supersets a rating stays with the exercise you rated, and you can reorder exercises or build a superset just by holding a card.

When you ask the coach to rebuild a workout, its explanation now stays above the warm-up until you finish instead of vanishing after three seconds. And asking for a muscle that day did not have now actually adds it.

A few smaller things too: bodyweight exercises no longer ask for kilograms, and pages no longer slide sideways on the way out.
