### 4/5 — Good modern coaching app

*2025-11-14, version 5.4.5*

Innovative cycling coaching app that provides a large catalog of structured plans with interactive AI coaching guidance to customize or modify your day to day workouts based on health metrics from your fitness tracker and accumulated training load. Responsive support and frequent new feature updates.

### 5/5 — Sierra did a great job.

*2024-11-22, version 3.8.5*

Always appreciate the quick response for support from Fastcat and quick resolution with the issue I was having.

### 5/5 — Very impressive app

*2024-11-21, version 3.8.5*

I have been using this app for around a year and I will definitely be subscribing again. The app has developed so much over the years with seamless Zwift integration being the latest. The AI CoachCat is really good and will give appropriate advice. Support is very responsive and helpful. I’m a better cyclist and more aware of my strengths and limitations than ever before.

### 5/5 — Excellent Workouts, Training Programs & Human-like Expert Guidance

*2024-09-10*

This app is exceptional for beginners, experts, people looking for highly effective training programs+ workouts and for time-crunched athletes with unpredictable schedules. The combination of recovery and training data and guidance derived from this data is good. The real killer feature is the AI chat which leverages decades of knowledge, expertise and common real-life scenarios to provide guidance to make the most of your workouts day to day and over time. It is also good at future casting and building out daily workouts and training programs to meet your goals and make adjustments as things pop up in life—and they always do. I highly recommend this app, it delivers on the promise of AI and LLM-driven chat with a high utility and delightful user experience.

### 5/5 — Worth the subscription.

*2024-08-05, version 3.0.6*

I signed up for the month free trial to see if coaching of any kind suited me. I previously tried Zwift training plans but found them not inspiring and too generic. The FasCat AI almost feels like a real person setting and commenting on your plan.
I enjoyed my free month and paid the annual subscription (it’s much cheaper) and continue to feel motivated to follow my plan.
Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Great stuff!!

*2024-07-13, version 2.7.1*

Love being able to get ton of advice and guidance. Got to spend time with Maddy! She is a rockstar, her passion and care for great outcomes is beyond words.

### 5/5 — Quick return

*2024-05-06*

Did an email and then I was sent a reply within an hour and that was when I was able to check on communication to the support staff. They where quick to respond and the next one’s where quicker than that. I love the programs and I am making progress towards my goal. They have something for everyone.

### 5/5 — Improved my riding significantly

*2024-04-10*

I tried this app over winter to focus on getting ready for a big challenge in the summer. I have been really impressed by the app, the development of CoachCat is a great addition and the support has been second to none. I paid for a year and I will definitely be renewing

### 5/5 — Reliable

*2024-03-20*

Quick response from the technical and coaching team, willing to help and sorting any training/technical issues you might come across. Very good experience

### 3/5 — Good concept to integrate with AI, but current capabilities feel too generic

*2024-03-15*

I’ve been using FasCat for the last two months. while the suggested training plan was a great to follow, I feel the added AI features were too generic to be valuable and also overpriced. The AI analysis of my past trainings have been very generic and did not provide real value for me to know how to improve upon. The daily messaging of my training status while it’s helpful I could simply derive that from looking at my heart rate HRV and my training load. Well I really like the concept of integrating AI into training, I think I could get a lot of the information simply by talking to ChatGPT while paying close to nothing. I will continue subscribing for another month or so to test it out, but the current state of the app does not warrant $39 per month of charge

### 5/5 — AI intelligence

*2024-02-23, version 2.5.2*

CoachCat AI is borderline scary how accurate it seems to be. Seriously. So congrats on such an amazing project coming to life but it is almost disturbing how the quick & precise AI is!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Half baked, twice the price.

*2025-01-29*

This app promises big things with AI training and optimization scores, but it fails at the simple things. For me, I can’t get my rides or health data to sync. This makes the app essentially a list of workouts with no adaption or feedback. I contacted support about this, their response “that’s weird, I pass it on to the engineers.” That is the last I heard from them. Save some money and go with more polished product like Trianerroad, Xert, Join, etc.

### 1/5 — Very limited workout data options

*2024-12-10, version 3.9.4*

Unless you ride with a Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo, there is no way to get workout data into the app. The coaching and the plans seem fine, but they won’t be tailored to your progress unless you use one of the devices listed above. The Apple Watch and Whoop integrations that they mention in the marketing materials are only for sleep metrics.

### 1/5 — Oooh

*2024-10-31, version 3.7.5*

So I downloaded the app, set up my details and event date. Within 2 minutes of browsing the app and looking at the recommended workouts I have deleted the app. It is appalling. It has zero knowledge of your ability/ goals and doesn’t even note your event day! It’s a race day for me yet this app tells me to go out for a 2 hr club ride. This app goes well with junk miles. Stay clear of this app!!!

### 1/5 — AI did not meet expectation

*2024-03-19*

It’s a good idea to incorporate AI chat into the app, but I think the stage of maturity is not there. The ai coach feels too generic and it’s basically like talking to ChatGPT, which I can get for free. I can give you several examples of the chatbot giving me wrong information, or incorrectly analyzed my training data (I did an interval training right in the SS zone, but AI was telling me it was below SS because it looked at the overall average power output instead of the interval specific ones. The premium I’m paying doesn’t feel aligned with the quality of the service I’m getting - it feels too much like a prototype, so I’m a little disappointed.

### 1/5 — Training plans maybe ok but app is useless

*2024-02-14, version 2.4.6*

I’ve been a paid subscriber but they are constantly having synchronization problems.

Their app is seemingly unable to import apps from the main platforms like Garmin, Apple health, Strava or training peaks.

Their support does answer emails but I think the problem is that the app is very and and their engineers are not able to import activities from other platforms.

Really frustrating experience

### 1/5 — App wouldn’t open

*2023-07-27, version 1.7.4*

App stuck on Home Screen.

### 2/5 — Lacking too many features

*2025-09-23*

The good: The plans are good and the app gives you some flexibility.

The bad: AI is useless and the app as a training platform is severely lacking features.

AI Coach review:
- AI is very slow to respond
- Responses are 90% ai slop. For example, I will ask it for a replacement workout since I missed a day and it will give me an impossibly difficult workout.
- Frequently does not perform the actions you ask of it such as replacing a workout will just add a second workout and you need to ask again

Missing App Features:
If you’re expecting a Training Peaks replacement this app doesn’t cut it.

- can’t upload workout GPX
- can’t mark workouts as completed
- poor UX for viewing training data
- Very expensive

### 2/5 — Use to Work Well

*2025-05-04*

The end of 2024 the app worked well. I enjoyed it and saw progression. However, like the previous review states, something happened to the app in the last few months where it no longer request access via Apple Health when installed. This results in no sleep or HRV data being passed to the CoachCat from Apple Health. You can enter your data each morning manually but this is inefficient and not what’s advertised. I’ll continue to use the plans, as they are functional until my sub runs out.

**Developer response:** Thanks for sharing your experience and for sticking with CoachCat 🙏 We’re glad to hear the training plans have been valuable for you.

You’re right: there was a temporary issue with Apple Health permissions not prompting correctly on install. Our team deployed a fix so HRV and sleep data flow automatically again. In the meantime, manual entry is a temporary workaround, but we agree it’s not the ideal experience.

### 2/5 — Not reliable but has potential

*2024-04-09*

I love the concept but the app isn’t reliable. On multiple occasions, the info from my Apple Watch/Health and Wahoo doesn’t upload, which throws off the data. (You can now manually input your sleep and HRV but won’t get the AI feedback if you do. There is no way to manually upload your completed workouts.) Coach cat won’t work properly without that input. When the app is working, it’s great and I appreciate the feedback from Coach Cat AI. The support team is responsive also, but without consistent syncing, the app just isn’t worth it.

### 3/5 — Enjoying the plans not the metrics

*2024-09-11*

I used the training plans this year to much success and plan to continue. The Optimize score is less useful as it requires an HRV input to be more accurate. As I don’t have one, and don’t want the extra expense of one,I feel like I’m not getting the best feedback. I also miss being able to send multi week workouts to my device. Having to send every day one by one is tedious and takes away from the ease of use of the product.
It feels like the company is pulling a Google move and trying to lock users into their ecosystem.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — My Go To Training Tool

*2026-08-25*

This tool gives great planning of activity and then review of those activities. The new 4.0 version made things much better, and this application has seen constant updates and improvements. Coach Frank trained the AI and it really shows his expertise. My fitness has improved greatly and I have learned to listen to CoachCat for improved recovery, something I often overlooked before.

### 5/5 — Truly Unique

*2026-05-02*

This app and the Coach Cat system is really unique. It is easy to get a custom plan started and the system works with you everyday to make any needed adjustments. Also, I LOVE the way CoachCat does long rides! It is a perfect balance of intervals, zone 2 endurance, and real-life riding. Very pleased!

### 5/5 — Digging it

*2025-09-11*

This is a cool app and concept. Workouts are good. Love having my training calendar at the ready. Love being able to interact with Coach Cat AI to adjust/manage training plan. Love having a better sense of how my sleep/recovery are playing into my training. Looking forward to continuing with it. One niggle: I bike commute to work sometimes after doing a full workout on the trainer before. Coach Cat doesn’t seem to understand this and will send me a message as though I had not already done the assigned workout. Feel like it should know what is “extra”.

### 5/5 — The closest thing to a real coach

*2025-08-21*

While other adaptive training apps will adapt your training based on availability and how you may have performed on yesterday workout only CoachCat goes deeper looking at your true body condition.

CoachCat loos at your HRV and sleep to gauge your real health to adjust your training.

But it goes further. You can discuss with your CoachCat any related cycling questions.

For example, I just had shoulder replacement surgery and when I was cleared by my doctor to do indoor training only CoachCat was able to create a truly custom recovery workout around my health condition.

It’s truly the closest thing to have a personal coach. Give it a try and you will be hooked

### 5/5 — Be amazed!

*2025-03-22*

Every time I ride my bike I find myself writing yet another glowing review of CoachCat in my head. From the seemingly hundreds of training plans, to the empowerment of the OTS feature on the app that collects data from your wearables and rideables to keep your training personal to you, to the incredible features of CoachCat the AI coach that can tweak your plan to whatever’s happening in your life (CoachCat could probably tell me where I put my keys) and the ability to chat online with one of the very experienced Fascat coaches, CoachCat is amazing. I am so stoked that I took the chance. Thanks, CoachCat!

### 5/5 — Awesome so far!

*2025-02-04*

Just started working with this training app last week (January 2025).... training for Unbound Gravel this year, along with several other races. All centuries /-.

I am new to gravel, and to events, so ALL of this was new for me (including FTP, how to think about training, etc.). I have found CoachCat to be an excellent guide and coach as I get myself ready for my gravel journey this year!

Moreover, as an app, the company has been increadibly responsive and helpful as I get set up and rollign with my plans.

### 5/5 — Fun and Effective

*2025-01-29, version 4.1.3*

For me this is as close to a real coach as I might get and a whole lot cheaper. The workouts and plans are designed well and the app is easy to use. I can see this getting even better in the future with more feedback and app development. It’s a lot less robotic than other apps that I have used and to me feels more real world.

### 5/5 — CoachCat and team

*2025-01-10, version 4.1.3*

Great product and very supportive and knowledgeable team.

### 5/5 — Well worth it

*2024-12-11, version 4.0.2*

This apps is so good and constantly getting better. It is well worth the cost and what I love is that it syncs with my whoop and will make suggestions based on recovery and previous workload

### 5/5 — CoachCat is a game changer

*2024-12-03, version 3.9.4*

Having CoachCat available to always answer my questions or tweak my plan has been a game changer. Its helped me focus on what I need to, how to adjust if I get sick or injured. CoachCat is crazy knowledgeable and very intuitive.
