### 2/5 — Playbook

*2025-07-20, version 5.1.0*

Loved this app… used it for years, now it keeps force closing??? What’s going on? I need this app to work again!!!

### 2/5 — App keeps crashing at startup

*2024-09-22, version 5.1.0*

Had the app for a couple years but this year it’s non existent I coach lil league football and I used this with my kids but can’t because of the bug

### 3/5 — POTENTIAL BUT POORLY DEVELOPED

*2017-10-28, version 5.1.0*

App seems like it could be great... with a little more work though. It’s kind of a waste of time to download if I can’t even save my plays with out downloading the PRO VERSION which is OVERPRICED AT $9.99! If it could be developed with an enlarging feature for the players that would be great and if it could come with a tutorial of how to use the app when it first gets downloaded I would give a better rating. More of the features need to be available on the LITE VERSION instead of having to spend that much money on the PRO VERSION. The delete option needs to be more sound and I shouldn’t have to move the players to delete the routes and I deleted ALL the routes before figuring this inconvenient delete option out. A backspace and forward button would be the biggest feature I think this app needs. If I make mistake I’d like to go back or forward to what I originally had down on the play instead of deleting my mistake. I see this app being the best football playmaker on the market but the biggest problem I have is the lack of free features available and the expensiveness of the PRO VERSION. I deleted the app because I have no use of it if I can’t save my plays. I would definitely download again if these things are fixed!

### 3/5 — Nice but still needs work.

*2017-08-09, version 5.1.0*

The animation feature is great. The icons are too small to arrange neatly. I would like to see the ability to get an expanded view while holding icons/positions before placing them in the field. Also, I'd like to be able to delete only one route or player at a time rhymed editing and not all at once.

### 2/5 — Not Helpful

*2014-07-17, version 4.1.4*

We were looking for a good practice planner/manager. This is not it. A waste of $5.

### 4/5 — More Options; touch response issue

*2014-01-02, version 4.1.3*

I am using the Lite version for now and I have to say this app is amazing, this has helped me a lot with giving some of my friends a visual on what my schemes are. The only thing I'm just requesting here is an option to change speeds of the players when you are playing the play. Also an option to do a zoom in on a certain side of the play or on specific players where you go over specifics of let's say a linebacker's drop in zone defense and the interaction with him and the receiver. Also there is a little touch response issue with selecting a route and a color for a player. But all in all a great app, keep up the good work.

### 3/5 — Good idea... Too many glitches

*2013-10-24, version 4.1.2*

Functionality is awesome. Too many glitches though. Plays don't save correctly. Leaves routes and players from other plays/formations stuck on screen. If everything gets fixed this thing is great.

### 2/5 — Great concept, epic fail...

*2013-06-28, version 4.0.2*

Impossible to work with, the player icons just do not respond, it takes forever to move them around. It can take 15 frustrating minutes to draw one play as you constantly have to keep tapping over and over and over to try and get an icon to move.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2012-10-24, version 3.2.1*

I coach i9Sports for 3rd grade. Good app. Has worked flawlessly. Kids love the iPad.

### 3/5 — Reluctant

*2012-08-30, version 3.2.1*

I like the app but it clearly needs some additional functions. I understand disabling everything to get everyone to purchase the full version but to aka for $8.00 is insane. I think you need to add formation templates and allow to modify once on screen. This would save the time wasted trying to add and position players. I think you need to either add additional formation functions or lower the price.

### 1/5 — Crap

*2012-08-20, version 3.2.1*

Defense doesn't work and everything else

### 4/5 — Great app

*2012-08-06, version 3.2.1*

Easy to use. Great app for drawing plays and animating plays!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Difficult to use.

*2020-09-16, version 5.1.0*

I have read the tutorials, can’t create new plays. Chalkboard stuck on the screen. Won’t sync with computer. Waste of money.

### 1/5 — What does this do?

*2019-09-15, version 5.1.0*

There is no intro? I don’t know how to use it could use some help.

### 1/5 — Worthless no save options

*2019-09-06, version 5.1.0*

Do not download!!! Worthless app that admins do not fix anything on in. 2yrs

### 1/5 — Great idea but full of bugs

*2015-08-19, version 4.1.4*

Needs a lot of updating, wondering if the developer lost interest in this app.

It is user friendly and conceptually good, however, the bugs make it unreliable and unusable for storing plays.

Reason why only one star:
After saving some plays, the blocking routs are garbled so you have to re create the play over and over

### 1/5 — Good game but?

*2015-01-16, version 4.1.4*

Good game but you can't save play's so that is the bad thing .you should probably get another game

### 1/5 — Very tedious

*2013-01-21, version 4.0.2*

Over complicated, finicky app. I thought I would be able to quickly draw things up, but having to give every assignment, defense included, is too much. Also, you can't draw up read plays, which is standard in football today.

### 1/5 — Fail

*2012-12-21, version 4.0.1*

Takes forever to move anything around. Can draw 20 plays out on paper faster than creating one on here, great idea though

### 1/5 — Not a good start

*2012-11-08, version 4.0*

Locked up with very little use. Had to remove app and reinstall.

### 1/5 — Would be better on iPad

*2012-09-02, version 3.2.1*

My fingers are too big to use this app on the iPhone. Can't put players on proper position. It took me 10 minutes to diagram 1 play. Good idea and concept though.

### 1/5 — Looks nice but doesn't work.

*2012-08-29, version 3.2.1*

The directions are straight forward but you'd expect a touch app to respond to touches. Maybe if I waited 10 seconds between actions it would recognize my trying to use it. I don't have that kind of time... As it is, it's completely unusable. Prepare to be frustrated!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2019-11-29, version 5.1.0*

The app is easy to use. I like how it comes with basic formations and coverages that can be used easily to draw up plays. This is a great tool to teach plays and defensive coverages to middle school, high school, college and professional athletes. This is a must have app for coaches and players.

### 5/5 — Great

*2014-07-22, version 4.1.4*

This is a football freaks dream. You can design defense and offense.

### 5/5 — Mr.Dick LeBeau

*2014-07-12, version 4.1.4*

This app took me from Mr.Dont know football, to freaking Dick LeBeau in one week. Oh and I was first..muahahahaha!!

### 5/5 — Nice program

*2013-10-02, version 4.1*

Love the redesign.
Good way to show movement to new athletes

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2013-01-25, version 4.0.2*

I use this app all the time, it's great and comprehensive, unlike the limited basketball app. I must have over 200 plays using this.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2012-07-17, version 3.2.1*

I was looking for an app to quickly diagram plays for a junior football team. I tested several of the top rated apps and just about anything else that claimed to do what I needed. This was definitely the easiest to use and functioned the best. After creating several plays I noticed some freezing issues when flipping plays and saving or trying to update current plays. I emailed meapps twice and was pleasantly surprised to get a response both times within 24 hours. They released an update to fix/improve the issues less than two weeks later. Great support! I will be using the app to create plays and print them out to place in a binder to use on the field. It will go so much quicker. It's also cool how you can hhit a button to put the play and put it in motion.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2012-06-28, version 3.1.1*

This is a great app to introduce you to what the Pro version has available. I enjoy the ease of drawing plays, as well as the ability to diagram drills. I highly recommend the Pro version. I can have quick access to my play book on the practice field, which is a plus in the spring and summer. My QB had questions on a few plays, so I emailed him the plays in question and he was able to study the plays before practice the next day.

### 5/5 — Awesome app!!!

*2012-05-29, version 3.1.1*

Easy to use and really helpful

### 5/5 — The best football app ever!

*2012-03-12, version 2.1*

This app is easy to use, great for setting up plays and using them to show my players! It's an interesting way to teach football. I love it!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2012-02-23, version 2.0*

use. Wonderful for coaching and drawing plays on the go. Also offer fantastic support for any questions Very highly recommended!!!
