Still no update. Why so long between app updates? The last one was 5 years ago?! Technology has changed a lot in 5 years! Last year we bought our Apex L Elite tub. We love it. The app is super handy… but I’m hoping for a simple update. Please make the app have more options for the lights. Our tub has a whole bunch of light colors when on the transition colors. But the app only lets us access like 6 colors. Many are far too bright, we’d like access the darker ones. Please fix this. Also, please add notifications on the app. The control panel on the tub lets us know if it’s too cold (after filling), why can’t that be transferred to the app. Same with filter reminders. It is a pain to continually take the panels off and rest the module that only last sometimes not even 2 hours. ### 1/5 — Absolutely horrible *2021-01-24, version 4.0* It takes forever to establish the connection. The range is horrible. Pretty much useless ### 1/5 — Useless *2020-09-27* This app hasn’t worked since 4.0 came out. I can’t connect to my spa. When I try and run the initial setup it has a black window in the center of the screen that I think is supposed to have fields to fill out, but it’s just black. I can click different areas of the little black screen, but it doesn’t work. Grade F ### 4/5 — Coast Balboa Wi-Fi Connect *2019-12-22, version 4.0* This revision is a welcome improvement over the last one. This app now has landscape mode which is useful for wall mounted iPads for smartphones. This app work faster than the last version, although it does not appear to have full control over the hot tub (lights, music, etc). Overall this app works like it is intended to. If you are having trouble using this app, check your WPS settings. Works well off wifi and cellar away from the home. Only improvement would be if you didn’t have to have the serial number off the wifi controller to reset your password. A lot of people don’t write this down and their hot tub control panel may be difficult to reach in winter! ### 1/5 — App sucks *2019-09-21, version 3.0* How do you review an app that never works? I don’t understand why they continue to sell tubs with wifi in order to use an app that they refuse to fix so it works. I paid almost $400 for this feature and can’t even use it because the app is crap!!!! If you’re not going to fix the problem then give us our money back!!! ### 1/5 — Just freezes *2018-11-28* After it asks me to connect it just freezes and crashes. Spa control with Apple Watch would nice! *2018-09-25, version 3.0* I have a 2018 Coast spa and the app connects quite reliably. No iPhone X support in terms of scaling of the app. Would like to see it scaled to look right on iPhone X. Spa control with Apple Watch would be nice! When changing settings the response between the app and the tub is slow. So if you change pump speeds and lights you often turn them on and off because the app is slow to update the status of the tub and app. So you tap the desired setting on the app and technically it’s properly sent the command to the tub but the app itself can take 10-20 seconds to update. By then you have tapped the setting again figuring the app was unresponsive and turned everything off again. Generally speaking the app is graphically dated and has a cumbersome workflow. Poor overall execution of a good idea.
