I’ve been forced to try several times over the years and have been unsuccessful each time. ### 3/5 — Fonts got weird in this latest July 2026 update *2026-07-24, version 1.27.0* The fonts got weird in this latest update. Any way to revert to the old non-serif font? It’s more difficult to read the display now. It was a simple Helvetica before, now some odd stretched serif font. Bad looking. ### 2/5 — Not very intuitive *2025-11-08, version 1.26.0* This app is difficult to navigate. Couldn’t find settings after plugging it into the bike. Couldn’t find how to change compass to display to the direction you are traveling…a “north up” graphic is not how a compass works. Couldn’t find how to zero out the last ride. I want manual control of the app and everything seems to be either hidden, automatic or doesn’t exist. ### 3/5 — Great app but one issue … *2025-09-12* The color set on the app keeps reverting to blue after a few days. Odd. 2years later, the color settings still don’t work. It’s related to the Trek Exclusive Branding setting. If set to that, the actual setting slider will disappear from the app and the color reverts to blue. Then if I set the color to any other stock color, after a min, hour, day at most, the color reverts to blue and the exclusive slider is back. Your Bosch eBike Team ### 2/5 — Documentation *2025-08-30, version 1.25.2* The documentation, as far as I’ve gotten through it just in the last half a day since I bought the bicycle yesterday has not been forthcoming with all the possibilities that I see could exist and how to operate step-by-step the app. Operating such things isn’t my best go so almost a picture by picture with description would really be helpful and that is how it started, but it didn’t cover very much. ### 2/5 — Still missing basic capabilities *2025-03-23, version 1.25.0* I’ve reviewed this before but nothing has been done. This app does not work in portrait mode on an iPhone. This app is made for Trek bicycles but does not have Trek bike wheel sizes. All measurements are metric but Trek makes English Standard wheel sizes which do not translate to metric so speed and distance readings are always wrong. What is the point of the app if not to tell speed and distance? Please, don’t just thank me for the information if you’re not going to fix the problems. ### 3/5 — Good but lacks basic features *2024-11-19* This is a good app. It connects reliably to my Trek e-bike and my Apple Watch. It lacks two capabilities that I believe should be available. First, the app should have an option to run in portrait mode. Second, the app should have default wheel sizes for Trek e-bikes. Other cycling apps like Cyclemeter & even Apple Health Can’t access power or cadence data. I’ve already paid 1000s for the bike & more for the smartphone hub. I should be able to access all the data without paying another $100/ year ### 1/5 — Horrible interface *2024-10-09, version 1.24.3* Just have a pause and end button easily accessible. Make the maps consistent with other mapping software but featuring bikes. This is not a good app for bikers. ### 2/5 — Frequent problems *2024-09-27, version 1.24.3* Well, the app is a nice idea. There are many bugs that don’t seem to be fixed and no answers and no help available online. I’ve had to reinstall the app three times when it would not connect via Bluetooth even when the Bluetooth on my phone said it was connected. Also it is said that the battery is not installed even though the lights are on and the bike would work without the app. Developer needs to update this software and provide support for the app. ### 1/5 — Cobi app *2024-09-24, version 1.24.3* As a new user this app has the worst instructions. You MUST use it consistently in order to remember where they have hidden the commands like how to turn app off. Love the bike hate the instructions. Yesterday was the worst. I live in the mountains and went on a paved road through a forest. As we get snow, the roads are not always smooth. My phone was attached to the hub and I was trying to use the COBI bike app. I say trying because in a 7 mile ride my phone thought I fell 3 times and had to be reconnected to the app ( but when I did fall did not even know it), so it was not too sensitive. Then on another rough patch the phone came off the holder all together. This is my 5th Townie/Bosch bike. I have been upgrading as the bikes and batteries have improved. Obviously I have been very happy until now. This COBI app could be okay someday but at the present time, I find it useless. ### 3/5 — Could be better *2024-09-04, version 1.24.3* Why is the heart rate in Navigation instead of Fitness? During a ride the App just stopped working. Why is there not a “reset” tab instead of entering the program to delete ride data ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Really bad software…looking for an alternative… *2026-07-07, version 1.26.2* The screen display truncates everything, especially music that is being played. No total mileage display on the bike. Too many button pushes to navigate through very user unfriendly menus. Using the iPhone is really stupid. The iPhone 17 pro max display is not anywhere near bright enough to be seen in direct sunlight. ### 1/5 — Compass is Kapuut *2026-01-22, version 1.26.1* I have an IPhone and when I use the COBI app the compass is off by 90 degrees. Always. This should be a simple fix, but according to the reviews it’s existed since the app was introduced. From Bosch: Hi Keeterone, COBI compass is always following Apple Maps. When the shift in direction occurs in COBI App it is also happens in Apple Maps and after some seconds in the iPhone compass. We are dependent on Apple Maps here. Your Bosch eBike Team" Sorry Bosch e-bike Team but this is not true. Apple Maps works fine. Apple compass works fine, too. COBI app is kaput. The compass is 90 degrees off. Always. When I’m going North COBI says I’m going West. When I’m going West COBI says im going South, etc, etc. It’s always off by 90 degrees. Please let me know if I can help you troubleshoot this. It only rotates one direction when you turn your phone. I use it every time I ride, but it only logs one out of four rides and saves the data and I can’t figure out why it does this. You can’t use voice commands and while riding, it won’t let your phone announce text messages through your AirPods!!! ### 1/5 — Not ready for prime time *2025-04-15, version 1.25.0* Frustrating is the first word that comes to mind with this app and integration to the bike. The app is mediocre at best. The contrast should be higher and for as much real estate as it has (your entire phone), it doesn’t use it very well. All of the metrics on left side are too small and the contrast is too weak to be readily useable by a rider. The fonts are narrow given the space it has to display and functions on the right are cool, but again hard to see, especially in sun wearing sunglasses. The worst is the integration to the bike. The holder is not universal and has a far too small channel to hold a newer phone. My phone was jarred out after I dropped off a curb. It fell out on two other occasions and now I use a rubber band to hold it in place. It is also rather cheaply made and the first one broke, fortunately Trek replaced it under warranty. Finally, it does not track or save your ride. Virtually all bike apps save rides, but not Cobi. My Haibike without Bosch is still supported even after Bosch bought Cobi.bike. I’ll be looking at a Bosch powered bike whenever my bike decides to pack it in. Certaine fonctionnalités seraient intéressantes à pousser : - gestion de plusieurs vélo dans l’application sans avoir à se déconnecter. - orientation de la boussole dans l’application. Merci pour votre travail ! C’est une super solution pour avoir un velo intelligent et connecté. Je l’utilise sur VAE et sur VTT ! Tous les jours 😊 Le GPS est top, le choix des itinéraires calme ou rapide un vrai plus. Le dispositif visuel est vraiment très bien et intuitif, belle présentation. Les connections au système starva ou komoot sont très bien : vous préparez votre sortie / itinéraire tranquillement sur ordi ou ipad et la trouvez chargée sur le velo! De retour de sortie : l’analyse se fait dans strava, komoot ou bouger (AppleWatch). La prise en compte des différents capteurs (apple watch ou cardio, capteurs de vitesse et cadence, capteur puissance moteur) permet une bonne information sur l’écran et dans l’analyse de la sortie. Point positif : - évolution régulière de l’application - prise en compte des commentaires utilisateurs : l’app a été traduite en français Amélioration à apporter : - choisir la connexion à un VAE ou à un VTT sans avoir à se déconnecter. - le feux stop prévu au début… petite mise à jour pour que soir enfin disponible SVP. - possibilité de connecté un capteur d’effort en bluetooth pour la puissance - permettre les appel ou SMS sans avoir à toucher l’écran. - envoyer les sms préenregistré avec son numéro de tel (peut-être en utilisant raccourci) Continuez à faire évoluer votre solution… elle est vraiment géniale ! Love the functionality and features plus the ability to use and charge my phone while riding. There's maps, music and peddle assist controls available. What I want to change is how the app turns my bike on automatically and I want to be able to turn it off from the app. Would also like to adjust bike settings such as idle time out and lights on at power up. Sie lässt sich leider auch nicht installieren. Neustarts usw. haben leider auch keinen Erfolg gebracht. Sonst eine tolle App. Ich hoffe sie bleibt auch noch lange erhalten.
