### 2/5 — Issue with location

*2026-08-16, version 7.3.3*

Recently, whenever I try to use the app, it will not let me redeem offers as I am not "near the venue". My location services are turned on and allowed for the code app. I am physically sat in the restaurant but told I am not near it - my other apps have no issues pinpointing my exact location at the time?

### 2/5 — Bed experience

*2025-11-07, version 7.1.0*

The app takes so long to load. It was slow to scroll down. After putting the condition in, it showed irrelevant information still (i.e. chose 50% off but still show other data)
It will be great if this can be fixed.

### 4/5 — Won’t open

*2025-11-05, version 7.1.0*

Had to delete and reinstall for anyone else encountering that.

From what I remember latest update had a loading map bug too. Couldn’t view restaurants open at specific time

### 4/5 — New app has had its issues sorted

*2025-08-14, version 7.0.5*

A nee app this summer had problems but appears to have been sorted with a good interface and UX. Great deals to be had as a hospitality employee…if your eligible and like good food and drinks this is an app for you

### 2/5 — Excellent concept, poor execution

*2024-12-22, version 6.8.12*

The app is becoming unusable, despite the good deals CODE has struck with leading restaurants and hospitality brands in the UK. No ability to filter beyond the most cursory of filters, with the app regularly crashing. Quite awkward to be waiting for the app to finally work after making a maitre’d wait 20 minutes for the discount code in a Michelin place. Please fix the bugs! Nightkey is far more usable.

### 3/5 — Poorly made app

*2024-11-25, version 6.8.12*

Big shame as its a great idea just too frustrating to use as it useless at searching for anything. Hoping code sorts this as I hear lots of people deciding to not bother as the app is so rubbish.

### 4/5 — Search functions could be improved

*2024-02-20, version 6.8.12*

Good app, £40 has gone up compared to much cheaper previous renewal. Need to enable location at restaurants to use.

Could do with better search function, categories to filter by cuisines, need to book in advance or walk in would improve

### 4/5 — Not valid email

*2020-02-19, version 6.1.0*

Hi,
I got a simple e-mail and I’m trying to register in the app but is keeping saying that my email is not valid.
Don’t understand why.

### 4/5 — Fantastic concept

*2020-02-17, version 6.1.0*

Creating a way that people who usually work long hours in a fairly low paid industry can affordably experience and learn about food and hospitality is a really amazing concept which will help our industry improve.
It would be nice, though, if it were possible to narrow down the search results (for example by cuisine or price), as it’s difficult to sort through an ever increasing list of restaurants.

### 4/5 — Shame they’re gonna charge...but I understand

*2019-12-14, version 6.0.3*

Just read the news. It was nice to have I don’t really use it enough to pay £50-60. Will be a shame to lose it but I understand why they want to charge to be fair. Good luck to Code in the future!

### 1/5 — Nightmare! Extremely buggy

*2019-10-12, version 5.1.6*

The app is very buggy and poorly made. It stays on the loading page most times. I have to delete the app and reinstall every time I want to see anything! Please fix this!! Absolute nightmare

### 4/5 — Amazing app

*2019-10-09*

Allows those of us in the industry access to incredible places- the concept is perfect, and we are eternally grateful! But the app is very glitchy- it doesn't even work unless deleted and re-installed on iOS 13. Please make a fix for it

**Developer response:** Hi Arun thanks for your kind words and sorry to hear you're having trouble with your app. Please drop us a note with your name, registered email and some more details and we'll look into it. Thanks CODE - contact@codehospitality.co.uk

### 3/5 — Needs Updating

*2019-09-23, version 5.1.5*

Love this app! Not working on iOS 13 though...

### 1/5 — No long working on ios13

*2019-09-20, version 5.1.5*

Stays frozen on the code logo screen , needs an update

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible update

*2025-10-28, version 7.1.0*

Poor update which ruined the app. Constantly crashing, unable to load the app and when it works it’s so much slower

### 1/5 — Update is not working

*2025-07-28, version 7.0.3*

Unable to login after app has been updated - getting an authentication error

### 1/5 — Update Issues

*2025-07-25, version 7.0.3*

The newest update has rendered the app unstable. I am unable to login or register an account as the page keeps freezing. Might be an issue on their website.

### 1/5 — Hospitality Superviser

*2022-11-10, version 6.7*

I was so happy to discover the app from my manager and once I downloaded I realise I cannot login with any of my emails ! So disappointed ! 💔

### 1/5 — !

*2020-10-02, version 6.1.0*

Why the app became so expensive?? From 11£ to 50£, that’s crazy!

### 1/5 — Coya Angel Court

*2020-01-29, version 6.1.0*

To preface this message the Code App is an app used by people in the service industry to enjoy dining at wonderful restaurants across London with a discount.

I work in the restaurant industry and went to Coya this evening to enjoy a lovely meal with a friend from New York.

I have the code app - when I presented the app (which gives 50% off of food not including alcoholic beverage) the manager (called Breezy) came over and said we could not use the app as we were supposed to tell him we had the app upon arrival because we would have been given a different menu - which is totally fair .

I asked for the “different” menu for future reference in which he brought me the same menu. I was genuinely confused because this was the exact same menu.

I then said, I completely understand if the menu was different but this is the same menu and you are treating me like I’m trying to con you. (Mind you I pay for the luxury of this app). He then said no, you can not just enjoy your meal and then tell us you have the app.

SO what I understood here was that I was not allowed to ENJOY my meal in this fancy restaurant with this great service because I have an app that essentially says I cannot afford this place. Had I told him I had the app at 7:30pm as opposed to 9:30pm we would have had a different service - discrimination to say the least. Moreover, we were two young women dining, so some might understand that we could have never won the argument.

What I know as someone who has worked in fine dining for 15 years is that nothing in his system would merit the fact that he denied us something we could have easily used. His system did not know that we checked in at 7:30 and his ego and demeanour only told me how he felt about us using the app.

I have used this app on numerous occasions in the most lovely places across the city, never have I experienced this. Again, as someone who understands the system in service, I actually was mind boggled.

And I am sad to see that a person who works and manages at this restaurant seems to have an attitude of “above” as a person who serves.

This was the most insulting experience I have ever had.

### 1/5 — The concept is awesome, the app needs a lot of work...

*2020-01-25, version 6.0.3*

It’s a great app (and the bulletins are fantastic. I don’t believe I have the option for the quarterly, but I read one sent to my boss and they're also fantastic! So a visit to the website is integral! This app is allowing industry individuals to visit other wonderful places to dine. It’s a marvellous concept I fully support, but the app is awful. It glitches a lot, even since the redesign, and is currently constantly preventing me from making a restaurant booking. I’m happy to call the restaurant but I assume the member discount comes through Codeapp.
The tech just needs a bit more work. It’s an easy sell since so many of us in the industry want to eat at other places but either don’t have contacts there or more often than not our contacts are not in the position to give a discount. And we would not jeopardise their position. We all often pay full price because we have an appreciation for the hard work that has gone in to make our meal. The tech here just needs to reflect the concept it is supposed to support.
Many thanks.

### 1/5 — £70

*2019-12-16, version 6.0.3*

You guys went really too far increasing price from £12 to £70 knowing your customers are simple waiting/bar staff...

### 1/5 — Started off brilliant

*2019-12-13, version 6.0.3*

Was using this app frequently, never an issue great deal, GREAT price. Now £7 a month from £12 a year? What a let down.

### 1/5 — Huge increase in subscription price by new owners

*2019-12-12, version 6.0.2*

Increased the price six fold for yearly membership. Absolutely shocking, kicking people out of the app who have already paid a years subscription.
Need to rethink pricing structure for hospitality folks who are on low wages and are looking for discount meal without a rip off app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2025-08-09, version 7.0.3*

The app is brilliant, the low stars reviews are all from YEARS ago so ignore them. I’ve been a member for the last two years and usually choose my destinations by what on the app. So many great discounts at so many great restaurants. I’ve saved over £750 so far and tried places/things I never would have thought of. Love it

### 5/5 — I can’t wrap my head around anyone scoring this under 5 stars

*2021-06-17, version 6.1.0*

This app is absolutely brilliant - the discounts are fantastic but what really sets it apart is the level of customer service.

Every time I’ve contacted the team, they’ve come back to me quickly and not just during the 9-5 which is so refreshing. You feel like a valued member of the community which is what we all want!

The discounts you get for some of the top restaurants are unbeatable and perfect for those who work in hospitality and don’t often get to treat yourself!

Amazing stuff and I’d recommend to anyone in the industry

### 5/5 — Great App

*2020-08-30, version 6.1.0*

Love the app - just a bit annoying you have to sign in so regularly. Sometimes it will ask you to sign in twice within 30 mins. Can touch ID be implemented??

### 5/5 — Chef lee

*2020-01-09, version 6.0.3*

Iv been using this app since it was first launched it’s amazing I save thousands
I locked myself out of my account time was really friendly and helpful and got me back in in minutes 🙌 I recommend It too everyone I meet and they all love it

Keep up the great work

Thanks lee

### 5/5 — CODE Is the best supporter of hospitality.

*2019-12-21, version 6.0.3*

By far the most forward thinking company out there for the hospitality industry.

### 5/5 — Now that’s what I call an App!

*2019-12-09, version 6.0.1*

I’ve had this app a few months now, and have made great use of it. I’ve always enjoyed eating out, but now I can do it on a very regular basis and at really nice places too. If you live in London you will be stunned by the huge choice, and they add to it on a regular basis. I’ve had another dining club card for several years which I’ll not renew now as the Code places are mainly mid-high end. Lots of places you get 50% off the whole bill-not just food. The last few years I’ve been saying ‘this year I’m going to eat out more regularly’ and now I have no excuse. Go to one swanky place with a few friends and you’ll have a years membership paid for. Keep up the good work Code…and no I don’t work for them!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-09-09, version 5.1.4*

Code is literally one of the best things that happened to me in 2019. Taking family and friends out for memorable meals...encouraging me to explore new exciting restaurants...all on a hospitality salary?! Fantastic and generous concept. Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Essential Industry App

*2019-08-28, version 5.1.3*

Really useful to dine around town with good discounts and also being on the mailing list is great for industry news and current affairs.

### 5/5 — Great savings & easy to use

*2019-07-05, version 5.0.1*

Glad I was recommended this app over a year ago. Have used it quite a bit. Allows me to try restaurants I might not have heard of otherwise, as I usually select by area based on where I’m meeting friends or family. I always recommend to people I know that work in hospitality. The deals are great!
Now has additional sections such as entertainment, hotels etc.

### 5/5 — My go to for going out

*2019-07-03, version 5.0*

I think this app is great, I’ve used it loads and tell everyone about it; it’s not just great to get a discount but also to make the connection with other people who work in hospitality – we always treat everyone as well as we can where I work but if we know they work in the industry then we try to make it extra special, and many of the restaurants I’ve visited through CODE have the same attitude. Also the CODE bulletin is so interesting!

What’s not to love about being able to get serious discounts at a range of restaurants, from low key to really fine dining... all my friends just think “I know someone who works here” but really it’s just CODE

Such a good idea for an app - I wish I’d had it myself!
