My only critique is that I wish there was a button for pulse check or rhythm check. Because right now you have to type in a manual event. But other than that it’s a great app ### 4/5 — Missing one thing. *2023-08-13* I wish it had a code log save feature so I could go back and have the information without having to export it in a text. ### 4/5 — Simple app, needs improvement *2022-11-26* Basic entries, maybe nice for way to add vitals and way to add other lines like art line, etc inserted. Even intubation details, size etc, or oxygen placed.. Can also be nice if we can edit the time, sometimes code started and cpr started already when recorder comes. ### 4/5 — Timer displays are messed up on iPhone SE2 *2022-06-05* We have this app on the phones on all the engines. It is a great tool, save a ton of times for the transport medics and has replaces all the scribbled notes on a note pad. But when we went to iPhone SE2 the seconds on the timers are cut off. It might need just a quick update for the new display ### 4/5 — Not bad, metronome not working *2022-03-13* At first glance, seems like a well thought out app for cardiac arrest documentation. I like that there is more than one timer going at the same time, along with the ability to alert when it’s time to switch compressors and need for EPI. However, the metronome is not working on iPhone 13 Pro v15.3.1. Also, it would be cool if you could change what main medications are on the initial drop down menu for differences between protocols for different areas/regions. For example, I would remove Insulin for Norepinephrine because Insulin is not in our protocols. ### 4/5 — Great app but needs updated *2021-09-01, version 1.0.4* Please update to the current ACLS guidelines. Great app for keeping track of code information ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Missing seconds *2024-09-24* It has a good concept and I like that you can have several different clocks for CPR and meds but the timer for CPR is not showing the seconds so it’s almost pointless to use it ### 1/5 — Poor app! *2022-05-17* App Has no way to document death or ROSC, other than in events. You have to Manually type in the unsuccessful resuscitation if ROSC was not achieved! No way to document IV Placement! No code log, to email yourself! No way to do anything like that. Very poor app! ### 3/5 — Good app - room for improvement *2023-10-01* Really good app. Consider putting in an option where we can customize event and med tabs. Example: in the events tab there are multiple events listed that come preinstalled on the app that you can tap on. My suggestion is to allow customization where there is a free text box and I can add a new event or med selection that stays on the app until I reset it. This would really set this app apart and make it more customizable and increase appeal. I hope y’all considered this option because the app itself it organized well and put together well. Metronome does not work on my iPhone ### 4/5 — Almost perfect *2025-07-03* Can you allow it to add meds and other events and allow them to be saved as options later. Example: we frequently use Etomidate to intubate. I’d like to be able to add this to the list of meds as a permanent option for selection later. Same thing with events so I don’t have to type them in during a code. Maybe measurements at lip as well, color change option, ETCO2, like just to be able to customize a little bit…It’s SUCH a good app, just would love to give it a couple tweaks! I always have to have a separate piece of paper for writing down who was in the code and I’d love to just use the app solely. I also would like a button for dosages of the meds like bicarb and Epi built into the med button. I wonder how other people navigate this part? I think this app is great and I think it could be tweaked to be more effective and eliminate the use of a separate piece of paper. ### 4/5 — Improvemnt *2024-12-13* This is a great app, however it would be awesome if it allows us to edit the dosage of the meds we gave, cause sometimes we give only half dose of epi or others. ### 4/5 — Good but metronome doesn’t work *2024-10-02* Overall good and I like that it’s simple. There’s a bug where the metronome isn’t working anymore. Also would prefer if it had a timer displayed for your CPR cycles so you know when it’s time for your next rhythm check. ### 4/5 — Simplistic As Should Be *2024-05-30* Codes should never be inundated with things that can distract or delay from the goal of achieving ROSC. Code Scribe provides a user interface that is simple and organized with the most important buttons during a code cycle enlarged. My only suggestion for an update is to not lock in stone the medications administered. This way users can tap the med and edit the dosage. It would save me from having to write it down, which adds an extra action and hand which could be simultaneously operating the monitor/defib. ## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Just want we need *2024-10-11, version 1.0.4* This app is sure to improve team communication and keeping that heart pumping (with metronome). Documentation super helpful easy. Great job in development. ### 5/5 — Fantastic! *2024-03-23, version 1.0.4* I have always found code apps TOO simple, or TOO complex. This one is easy to use but still has enough info to record more complex events. Love that it shows you how long CPR has been paused (ie: while attempting to apply the LUCAS) so you can remind the team to resume CPR promptly. Have used this app twice now and it has greatly improved my organization as the recorder. ### 5/5 — Truly brilliant for keeping resuscitation on track *2023-10-07, version 1.0.4* Exactly what I was looking for. Very good of the developer to make this free for anyone to use. I’m a paramedic in Canada and the only thing I would add would be a 4 minute timer for antiarrhythmics like amiodarone or lidocaine. Not a huge issue as you can still add them as events, but even then a displayed clock time with seconds would be helpful at the top. I would also add basic airway/opa and have intubation and supraglottic airways be separate events. Thanks again so much for making this. ### 5/5 — My Trusty Sidekick *2023-09-12* As a member of the code team, this is my best friend. As soon as the code is called overhead I open this bad boy and start it. Once I am up there I am keeping up and able to start tracking. No more counting the cycles for epi and pulse checks. I also can just send the transcript to whoever needs it once the code is over. ### 5/5 — Will help you run a smooth code *2023-06-30* A must-have if you are a nurse or physician. Helps codes run smoothly, and it helps you log accurately. The nice feature is that you can send the log off easily via text or email! Over the years I have looked for something to help keep time & document “be the recorder” during codes & I finally came across this app awhile back. Anytime I use, it colleagues ask for it. It is so user friendly and makes both running a code and documenting so easy. The app does so much of the thinking for you, so you can be thinking about the patient and what intervention is most likely to save them. At the end of the code you can easily copy and paste all of the documentation with time stamps into the EMR on your phone if you have it.
