It would be fantastic if we could access all the symbols directly from our keyboard to insert, copy, or share them from anywhere. Would of given 5 stars if so. ### 5/5 — Worth the download *2023-10-17* I've been using this for a few months, and just today noticed that it has relatively few ratings. For what it offers, it works great. An early release was a bit janky but it's improved. I make lots of notes - sometimes I use SF Symbols, at other times, I prefer to use Unicode so it's a practical utility. Does what it's supposed to do, and looks nice while doing it. Some feedback: - I'm Not sure what the purpose the little chirp when double clicking a character is. It's annoying, but it doesn't look like it's possible to disable it. - I do which the search were better — for instance, searching “italic a” does not return 𝑎, unicode 1d44e (mathematical italic small a) - I wish there were a way to copy the name of the character (“mathematical italic small a”) **Developer response:** Hi Richard, thanks for your valuable feedback, really appreciate it! 🥳 In the latest update you can now disable Sound Effects in the settings panel. Copying symbol names now also works with a right click on them. Improving search is a constant todo — it gets better with every update and I will take your feedback into account. Best, Martin ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Extremely sluggish *2024-11-29* This would be really useful, except it is kind of a pain to use because of how sluggish the entire app runs, even on Apple silicon chips. Scrolling through the list is a choppy, sluggish experience. I usually opt to just do a Google search or use macOS’s built in Character Viewer to find the unicode symbols I need because of this. ### 1/5 — Crash quelques secondes après l'ouverture *2024-07-20* Bonjour, application achetée mais malheureusement elle crash des son ouverture sur un Macbook Pro 14" M2 Pro Sonoma 14.5 :( ### 1/5 — SF Symbols *2024-07-04* I bought this application because I needed the SF Symbols; the problem is when you choose a symbol in 3D you get it as a "?" mark. If you want to copy any symbol in 2D or 3D you paste it and what you get? you get the "?" mark. If this is fixed than I give a 5 stars otherwise it is useless. ### 1/5 — Empty options. No symbols. *2023-12-24* I have was confused as to why there were no symbols or icons in any of the Unicode options, so going into the settings I enabled more of the available options. Still noting. I tried refreshing the options by pulling down, that doesn’t work. I tried closing out of the app and coming back - nothing. This app does nothing. In the app screenshots, they show screens of icons, but the screens are literally blank with only the text “No Items” sitting in the middle of the screen. ### 1/5 — Collapse for no reason *2023-08-11* Not very useful since lots of symbols are not available. Not I cannot even open it without collapsion. ### 2/5 — crashes *2023-12-24* noticed it crashes a lot in Sonoma when i click on one symbol to get the details vew. ### 3/5 — Serves a need, could use improvement *2025-05-11* This app does a decent job over Apple’s Keyboard Viewer. It could use some improvements: 1. On first launch, the lefthand sidebar is not sized correctly to accommodate the lengths of the character set names. 2. Scrolling performance is choppy on an M2 MacBook Air. 3. Scrolling doesn’t work by hitting spacebar or page down. 4. The text identifiers immediately below the symbol in the righthand sidebar are truncated and do not wrap. 5. If I switch character sets with a search term, and there’s no results, there’s no message to show that there’s more without the search term. 6. The count of characters in a set does not change when a search term is specified. 7. There’s no button to favorite a character. This would be a nice addition to the top or righthand sidebar. 8. The main character panel does not display the character name. 9. Cmd-T does not open a new tab. 10. Drag-and-drop from a character onto a text field would be nice. 11. Selecting a character set without a selected character could display some information on that character set in the righthand panel. Anyway, that looks like a long list, but I think these are minor things that could be implemented quickly. Otherwise, I like this app and believe it looks like a good, modern Mac app. ### 3/5 — Incomplet *2025-02-05* Très jolie application, comme toutes les applications de ce développeur. Néanmoins il aujourd’hui il n’est pas possible de visualiser en 2D d’autres police que celle de base. De fait on ne peut pas non plus comparer des caractères ou même des chaines de caractères dans différentes polices. Je pensais pouvoir m’en servir pour des besoins d’accessibilité lors du choix des polices pour la conception d’interface. Mais mon besoin n’est pas comblé. En l’état je ne comprends pas trop la valeur ajoutée par rapport à l’app native macOS.
