## Newest reviews (19 of 140)

### 1/5 — It would be a great app if it actually work

*2025-05-22, version 5.1.40*

The app is horrible. It never works. It’s good at sending you alerts but when you open the app to try to see the alerts the app freezes. There is a play button to hear audio but there’s never any audio.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-05-20, version 5.1.40*

When I log in I see there are 115 alerts in my area but not what they are…. During dangerous fires, no alert. Severe weather? No alert. Since I got this app I no longer get county text alerts, and I’m so sad and not sure how to go back to getting text alerts!

### 1/5 — Never works

*2025-05-20, version 5.1.40*

The app rarely ever works. No notices work. Despite being registered, which I had to do AGAIN, no calls for watches or warnings, and no alerts. Thankfully, I have other apps since this one isn’t consistent & rarely works.

### 1/5 — Is as bad as reviews state

*2025-05-14, version 5.1.40*

I have tried to use this app but to no avail. I can see app but it gives no information. I have tried many different times to reset my password which requires onsolve to send you a reset code. I have yet to receive such code even after numerous attempts. I had this app several years ago and it worked well. Now it’s useless. What happened?

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2025-05-11, version 5.1.40*

Probably the most useless app I have.

### 1/5 — Alerts? Or no?

*2025-05-06, version 5.1.40*

Signing in it says there are 29 alerts. We are currently in a thunderstorm and tornado watch (according to local news ) and the app won’t show me any of that. Not good. Deleting the app.

### 1/5 — Don’t Bother!

*2025-04-23, version 5.1.40*

It’s worthless, sends alerts but doesn’t tell you where it is, or it’s not near you, or it doesn’t tell you what it’s for, and you can’t read or delete previous alerts.
And as it states, it doesn’t collect any info from here, which I take to mean they don’t read reviews.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-04-15, version 5.1.40*

So the sign in doesn’t work and you can’t click anywhere to see the active alerts. Plus some alerts are more like community announcements, definitely not “code red” events.

### 2/5 — Just not good at all

*2025-04-04, version 5.1.40*

This app is really bad. I get alerts for areas nowhere near me even though I have the distance set at less than 25 miles. Also shows a number of active alerts but there is no way to actually see them. Needs serious improvements to be useful.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2025-04-03, version 5.1.40*

This app is useless. It’s currently telling me that I have no active alerts in my area, which is false. I’m currently under a tornado, a flood, warning, and a severe thunderstorm warning. I got an alert to check the app 40 minutes after a warning was issued for my area. The radar is not showing on the map. It says there are 131 active alert alerts, but you can’t click on it. Honestly, what is the point?

### 1/5 — Bad app

*2025-03-26, version 5.1.40*

I just downloaded this app because our county is in a state of emergency due to wildfires. The app states that there are three alerts in the area, but it doesn’t tell you what they are and you can’t open it up. And then when I click on my location, it says “ No alert alerts in your area”. I gave the app my contact information so now I feel like my information has been sold for no reason. I’m going to delete this app.

### 1/5 — Well this doesn’t work

*2025-03-20, version 5.1.40*

I get zero alerts. Please make this better on iPhones

### 1/5 — Alerts

*2025-03-15, version 5.1.40*

The app says I now have 391 alerts! I can’t get the alerts to show up. This app is a WASTE OF MY TIME!

### 1/5 — How do I use this thing?!?

*2025-03-13, version 5.1.40*

I set my alert radius to 12 miles from my location. I forget I have the app installed. Time passes

Today I get a loud alert for 2 alerts near me. Oh no! What is it??? I open the app & there’s nothing on the map. The top says there are 59 alerts (?!?! What happened to the 2) but cannot find a list or any visual clue of what the issue is.

Finally I zoom out on the map & see alerts in Texas, Florida, Idaho, Virginia, etc, that add up to 59. Cool. But I’m in California!!

What were the 2 alerts that it sent me an audio alert for? No clue. Why am I being notified of things thousands of miles away? Also no clue.

### 1/5 — It really is bad

*2025-03-09*

I thought the reviews were exaggerated but they are not. The UX in this app is terrible. Why are you showing an active alerts number but there's nothing in my area? I can't even click anywhere to see what those alerts are.

Also, despite creating an OnSolve account on the web for my county and city updates, that logging doesn't seem to work in the app. I'm not creating another account for a system I already signed up for.

General navigation and screenshots feel very outdated and cheaply done. Overall this entire app needs to be pulled and rebuilt from scratch. Hire out some user experience people while you're at it.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2025-03-02, version 5.1.40*

My whole area is currently on fire! Not a single alert! Evacuations are in progress. It’s on local and national news. This application is worthless. No alerts, nothing but a red dot on a map. Aircraft dropping liquids on the fire and this junk shows nothing!!! So far 12,000 acres have burned. Deleted this garbage.

### 1/5 — Not really good

*2025-01-26, version 5.1.40*

App barely functions. Always says there’s alerts. Upon opening the app there’s no alerts to be seen. I click refresh and still nothing. I click near me and nothing. Nada. Zilch. Have had this app two years now for work related updates. It’s just a poorly functioned app that seems to not get improvements. Someone gave it their best shot at making an app and ghosted us on updates.

### 1/5 — Can’t see the alerts

*2025-01-15, version 5.1.40*

It tells me there are 82 alerts but I can’t see them.

Also it tells me there are none near me, but I received a phone all and email this morning regarding a code red.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-01-10, version 5.1.40*

There’s fires around in 3 directions, one of them at 10miles. The app map says there are 170 alerts but there’s no information about any, even with alert distance set to 25 miles.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — CodeRed

*2025-10-15, version 5.1.42*

Can't login to the app.I even registered & still can't login.

### 1/5 — Complete waste of time

*2025-09-28, version 5.1.41*

The app claims there’s an alert but shows no information, sign up was confusing and annoying and had to do it twice which was weird. Don’t bother with it.

### 1/5 — Alerts not showing

*2025-09-04, version 5.1.40*

It keeps saying how many alerts but nothing opens

### 1/5 — Unable to open alerts

*2025-08-09, version 5.1.40*

Unable to open alerts. I have sent messages with no response. Fires in my area.

### 1/5 — Brick

*2025-07-29, version 5.1.40*

The only alerts that I have received are for garbage pickups in Salem. Where I lived previously they used Nicole and it was effective for most alerts.

### 1/5 — Terrible and useless

*2025-07-14, version 5.1.40*

This app should be removed from the App Store for labeling itself as an emergency alert app and having such a terrible UI. It shows me there are 47 active alerts in my area but there is NO way to see what they actually are. The county next to mine uses it to say when trash pickup will be delayed due to holidays, and I get a blaring alarm every time they do that.

### 1/5 — Useless Application

*2025-07-12, version 5.1.40*

I’m uninstalling this app. Today is July 12 but the app still shows the latest date as April something. Doesn’t show any alerts anywhere. Completely Useless.

### 1/5 — doesn’t work and cannot remove

*2025-06-29, version 5.1.40*

horrible. does not function properly. when i try to delete from iphone i cannot delete it from my phone. ther literally is no “delete” option when i try to delete like a standard app

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-06-22, version 5.1.40*

My county insists on using this app instead of spending money on a civil siren. The app never works. It will tell me there are alerts but it won’t specify what type of alert. I never get any sort of warning on my phone despite checking all the settings. The radar is terrible. Just a useless app.

### 1/5 — Difficult To Use

*2025-06-08, version 5.1.40*

Herky Jerky, seems outdated and unmanned. Does not instill confidence

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Why Negative Reviews?

*2025-07-15*

Not sure why everyone is having an issue unless it’s the city you live in. I get notifications that I have chosen in the app and on the website of my city. You need to sign up on your City’s community notification enrollment page. Every county has an office. My notifications are on time and have been a lifesaver when tornadoes occur because even though I have a siren 1/4 miles away we cannot hear it during wicked weather.

### 5/5 — Useful location based alerts, not a replacement for signing up local

*2024-08-30*

I’ve seen lots of reviews complaining about the fact that sign up for this app is separate from city or county services. This app is a different service than what you get from signing up with your local authority. You can sign up for an account in the app, but it’s not necessary to receive location-based alerts. Paid subscriptions are only required to receive the severe weather alerts, and there’s lots of other sources for those.

This app uses your current GPS location, wherever you are, to notify you of alerts that have been sent in the area. Not every jurisdiction uses the CodeRED system, so it won’t necessarily pick up alerts from anywhere you happen to be. However, if you are in an area in the United States that uses CodeRED, this app should send you a notification. Don’t just rely solely on this app! Signing up for your local county alert system will enable the delivery of text messages to your phone, which is also important if you may be traveling or otherwise not at your home when an alert is sent.

### 5/5 — Use the app properly!

*2023-12-18, version 5.1.38*

All the problems people are complaining about in the reviews seem to be that people are not using the app properly.

Only MY alerts are visible when when I tap on ‘My Alerts’. If you don’t want to see ALL alerts for everyone, tap on the ‘MY ALERTS’ button!

One reviewer complains about paying for tornado warnings. This App is used by my water company for WATER ALERTS. I don’t know why you are complaining. DOWNLOAD THE FREE WEATHER CHANNEL APP & GET EVERY ALERT POSSIBLE FOR FREE! It’s a National Weather Service app. It’s an excellent app!
🙂

### 5/5 — Great app and it’s FREE!

*2022-08-02*

The review I just read here with two stars is complaining that this app has a fee and I don’t see it. She says you can scour the Internet and find all your state and city stuff for free. By all means go ahead and take your time to do that, and if they wanted to charge you because they did it for you, there’s nothing wrong with that. You go into a grocery store and complain because the milk isn’t free? After all, cows produce milk without even trying don’t they? Can’t I go milk my own cow? Give me a break, and give these people a break. They’re not doing anything wrong. I appreciate the fact that I don’t have to scour the Internet to find the information.

### 5/5 — Fast push notification for tornado

*2018-12-20, version 5.1.11*

I almost forgot I had this app installed until there was a tornado warning issued for my house an hour ago. I received the CodeRED notification a solid 2 mins before any of the 4 other weather apps I have installed. And 15 mins before I got my Seminole County Alert. Not sure what the county is using but 15 mins is too long during a tornado warning.

### 5/5 — Great App when traveling!

*2018-08-28, version 5.1.9*

I rely on the CodeRED Mobile Alert App when I am traveling to receive important notifications. Recently I was in MA and received a Flood warning! Without this app, my safety could’ve been in danger while traveling on the road. Thank you CodeRED!!

### 5/5 — Great tool to have in my pocket

*2018-08-27, version 5.1.9*

I have had this app for years and always provides me with updated information, especially when I travel. Being able to use the mapping interface for my specific area gives peace of mind and also lets me stay up to date with family members who are out of state

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review!

### 5/5 — Great mobile app

*2018-08-24, version 5.1.9*

This is a great app that provides me with general and emergency notifications no matter where I am located. Whether I am in my home town or if I am traveling for work I can receive important information. Highly recommend downloading this app so you are always in the know!

### 5/5 — Great app for getting vital alerts

*2018-08-23, version 5.1.9*

CodeRED is excellent for getting vital information when I am at home or traveling. I didn’t have tv service while camping but this app let me know when my family needed to take cover during severe weather. Thanks for always keeping me informed about critical info.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear the app has helped you

### 5/5 — Informative & Easy to Use

*2018-08-22, version 5.1.9*

I love how simple this app is to maneuver. I feel safe knowing I’ll receive notifications for my City while home and comfortable that I’ll be alerted while traveling for work.
