## What is Codex Pocket?

CodexPocket is a companion app that lets you continue using Codex running on your local machine from your smartphone.

There is no need to recreate your local machine setup. CodexPocket uses the same Codex instance and workspace already running on your local machine, while giving you a focused smartphone experience for the things you want to do away from your desk—checking progress, adding follow-up instructions, or running one-off actions.

Main features
- Scan the Pairing QR on your local machine to add a host to your smartphone
- Reopen your usual workspace from the Project list
- Review existing threads or start a new one
- Add follow-up instructions from Composer, attach images, run commands, and use skills
- Run one-off checks with Exec
- View, create, and switch local branches in Git-managed workspaces
- Adjust language, theme, font size, notifications, and more

Best for moments like these
- You want to check logs and responses before returning to your local machine
- You want to quickly add instructions like “continue with this approach” or “fix just this part”
- You want to try a one-off check separately without switching threads
- You want to open your usual Codex environment from your smartphone while staying on the same local network

What you need before getting started
- A local machine running Codex
- CodexPocketMac, the companion app on your local machine
- Your local machine and smartphone connected to the same local network

Please note
- CodexPocket is not a standalone app that replaces your local machine
- It is currently designed for use on the same local network
- iPad support and internet-based connections are not currently supported
- Camera permission is used to scan the Pairing QR, and Local Network permission is used to discover and connect to the bridge on your local machine
