I tested all available optiones and this is by far the best, independent of your brewing style (filter, espresso, aeropress, french press, etc.). The only improvements I have is to add a paper filter option for the puck prep and to fix some of the rare UI bugs (like country selection for blend coffees). I've increased the amount of brews it'll take to trigger to avoid you getting the request so soon. ### 2/5 — MAVO (Kickstarter) Waage fehlt leider *2026-08-11* Bei der Suche nach MAVO wurde mir diese App vorgeschlagen. Leider wird die neue Waage von MAVO noch nicht unterstützt. **Developer response:** Hallo! Es wird irgendwann kommen! ### 3/5 — Pretty good for AP *2025-03-13* This is one of the better apps I've tried for tracking coffee and Aeropress recipes and guides, however the AP seems to be an after thought. For Aeropress it is missing a key step when creating a guide: Plug with timer Fahrenheit configured in settings has a few issues. When creating a recipe it displays the field in F but does a conversion from C to F so inputting 100 is displayed as 212. When looking at brew history it shows the correct temp in F, however when selecting a recipe to brew from they are displayed in C. Fix these and the becomes a 5. The other 8 apps I've tested are either good at tracking beans or AP recipes but this AP comes closest doing both well. **Developer response:** Hey there! Thanks for getting in touch! I’d love to understand what you’d need to better track your AeroPress recipes - please send me an email and we can get it added! alexanderloganapps@icloud.com ### 3/5 — More methods needed *2024-01-28* I appreciate this is for manual brewing mostly but support for other types of brewing would be nice, i.e pods (including reusable) & other specialty coffee products such as pre measured instant sachets, brew bags etc. there are so many other kinds of products out there these days that aren’t whole beans with filter or espresso. It would also be nice to have a feature to log basic caffeine intake also, such as tea or cafe takeout, if the app is going to link into health data it would be ideal to able to log all of my caffeine intake in one place, variables like cup size, shots, or type of tea etc. I know it would be rough estimations over correctly measured like a manual brew but massively preferable Instead of having to log it separately or pay an additional fee for another app that logs general caffeine intake and not just what I’ve brewed manually at home. Perhaps this is beyond the scope of what this app is really for though, but it would be nice to have it all on one place. Change logs always the same, severely outdated and utterly useless. Very irritating. Why am I updating my app, what am I updating it for? Please keep on top of this very basic information. **Developer response:** The app now has more caffeine options, including the ability to mark brews as tracked/non tracked if you're tracking directly via brewing! This is about as far as this app will go, as a full caffeine tracker isn't planned for inside coffee book. Sometimes I have to work on a fix really quickly for someone, and I don't get a chance to update the change logs as the build goes out, but its something I'll bear in mind in future, sorry for the inconvenience! ### 4/5 — Viel Potenzial *2026-04-17* Ich benutze die App seit Jahren und bin ganz Zufrieden aber es gibt einige Stellen die über arbeitet werden könnten. Die Bewertungsscale geht von 1-5, das finde ich zu eingeschränkt schön wäre es wenn man sie in den Einstellungen auf 10 oder sogar 100 Punkte stellen könnte. Auch funktioniert die neue KI Integration bei gar nicht. Die vorherige Version zum erkennen des Kaffees über die Kamera war nicht besonders gut aber hat zumindest ansatzweise funktioniert und geholfen. Auch wäre es schön wenn man ein Kaffee logt und die Parameter wie Mühle Zubereiter (V60, Espressomaschine etc.) die drei Parameter zusammen rechnet und dann den letzten log mit genau dieser Kombination als Ausgang vorschlägt. Im Moment werden die Daten des letzten Eintrags genommen egal welche Mühle oder Zubereitung oder Kaffee. Ich würde auch begrüßen wenn man manuell Varietäten und Aufbreitung eintragen könnte da diese ja sehr zahlreich sind und eine reine dropdown Auswahl wahrscheinlich nie komplett ist zum Beispiel gibt es grade nur eine Geisha Art als Auswahl. Ansonsten ist die App sehr umfangreich und lässt es zu viel Parameter einzustellen und eine gute Datenbank für sich selbst aufzubauen. My two main gripes that are easy to fix: please add custom varieties and custom tasting notes. OR simply add to these existing lists. Tasting notes are extremely limited. It’d be great if it at least had all the notes from the SCA wheel. And variety list is super tiny to almost be useless. Wichtig wäre zu ergänzen: - Auswahl der Bohnenart zwischen Arabica, Canaphora (Robusta), Liberica usw. - Kalita Dripper als Brühmethode - Origami Dripper als Brühmethode - Ein Eingabefeld für die Farm ### 4/5 — Overall; Not Bad *2022-10-03* TLDQR: Provides good amount of details for repeating brews; however, it lacks customizability, and the abilty to create your own “Guides.” Long story: It has some pretty nice features that help you dial in as repeat your chemistry, I really like the guide feature however it would be “amazing” if I could either create or edit a guide of my own (maybe I just don’t know how to do it) for a better step by step UI. The other thing would be to add more options to move around the details of the recipe and additional options like [bean (g)] instead of just coffee, I grind only as much as I need so occasionally the grind eats some if I don’t smack her hard enough. Or maybe water pre-boil. Also the ability to turn off details, like RPM, my grinder is very basic, or for those with a hand grinder… Like I said overall not bad. **Developer response:** Thanks for your review! Doesn’t harvest data, and it’s a reasonable one-time purchase. Has all the functionality of other apps and has a clean UI. A few suggestions, though: 1) the shots pulled in the dialing-in phase should be calculated in the total usage of a bag (it’s currently not). 2) when “brewing from recipe” it would be great to see deviations from the recipe. E.g, I load a recipe, and any variables I tweak or if output changes for that day’s brew, they’ll show in green/red (up/down) relative to the recipe. That way, I could see changes over time from my starting recipe as beans age, as weather changes etc. Overall great app! Really thorough app with tons of options, lots of flexibility for what you want to track and how, great tools for identifying how to improve your coffee making, and the app just feels GOOD to use.
