I used to love this game when it came out and couldn’t believe it disappeared. But back then the model was pay and it’s yours. These days it’s either a subscription or ads. And that’s awful. I’d rather have the option to buy it without the ads. Because honestly, I’m probably going to just delete it now. ### 4/5 — Great game but… *2024-03-19, version 0.2* I had this game years ago and it was great. But now with the adds on the bottom I keep accidentally clicking on them and it causes the game to freeze occasionally, sometimes I can wait it out but other times I have to quit the game and relaunch. I would gladly pay to get rid of the ads. Also, you have a bug on coral decent 8. Can’t drop coins into portals. I would check for it regularly for years to see if it was back on the App Store lol. Still the great fun I remember. I do agree with the other reviews that it would be great to be able to pay to remove ads. I keep accidentally clicking them. IMPORTANT: I got to the end of the game and collected the 225 stars…..but there are still so many coin skins to collect worth far more than that, but I can’t figure out how to get them. There aren’t any more levels. Will more levels be added? Am I missing something? Full Fat, please respond! But back then, there was an option to pay to remove the annoying and disruptive ads! Now that option has been removed. I’d gladly pay to do the same again, but Full Fat MUST bring that option back. Otherwise I’ll be deleting this once beloved game in short order. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Wow don’t bother if you used to play this game *2025-12-15, version 1.3* Listen, this game is absolutely incredible. The coins are adorable, the music, the difficulty of the levels, everything. HOWEVER the game had been taken off the App Store for a while, and now that’s back no hesitation buying no adds. No problem, it’s reasonably priced. Cut to playing a few levels, and BAM! Paywall as you only have so many lives. Even if you buy ad free, $3 for 5 lives. Each Level takes a few lives. What used to be a wonderful, whole, incredibly fun game is now modified to be riddled with paywalls and ads if you don’t or can’t pay $3. If this game wants money why not upload to the App Store? Why not just sell the game at $10? This paywall model is not fun & I doubt anyone will really play because of how wildly aggressive it is ### 1/5 — Level 73 *2025-05-13, version 1.2.1* Could not get through the level couldn’t change coins was not an option went back to the game later it was blank so deleted it and reloaded it got back to level 73 and it did it again. Now it’s just another ad-pushing in-app purchasing disappointment. Still have the original on old ipad2, it’s so much better. ### 1/5 — Remove Ad Option *2024-09-06* A lot of us have owned this game before when it was a paid/no ad game. You really need to add an option to allow us to pay to remove ads in this version. You are ruining a great game with crappy ads. ### 2/5 — Aggressive monetization *2026-07-15, version 1.4* I was over the moon excited when I saw that Coin Drop was back. I loved this game back in the day and not having it available for quite a while was a sad situation. The good: There was obviously some work put into modernizing the app. The game levels take up the entire screen of modern phones. The tutorials show really old iPhones with home buttons that had much smaller screens. The bad: The monetization, notifications, and nagging are just awful. 100% of the time when I launch the game I get a popup asking for notification permission even though I keep refusing. When you finish a level without meeting the requirements to progress you're nagged to watch an ad for more lives. When you are between levels you are nagged to pay to unlock all the decorative coins. And I was foolish enough to think that paying to remove the ads meant that I had fully unlocked the game. Image my surprise at failing a level a few times and getting a popup that I couldn't play any more unless I bought more lives or waited ten minutes. Absolutely appalling and I regret spending any money on this app. ### 2/5 — Greed *2025-11-29, version 1.3* Old sneezes you paid once and not again. I spent $3 for no ads then learned after 10-15 minutes of play that more lives are $3 as well. Without paying a constant stream of money, you can’t play. Sad ### 2/5 — Make it easier *2025-03-06, version 1.2.1* The only thing stopping me from deleting this game and giving it 1 star is nostalgia. I played this game as a little kid with my brothers and we managed to get all the way to the end, not too much trouble. But now we are grown adults and can’t even get 3 stars on the SECOND level. I implore you, either fix the hitboxes of the pins or coins not sure which (because I can SEE they’re too small) or at the very least decrease the score necessary for 3 stars. I’m rating it 2 stars because that’s all I can get on level 2. ### 2/5 — Good Game, Ads Annoying *2024-09-13, version 1.1* I downloaded this game and had fun for a minute. Then a video ad popped up, played, annoyed me, and I deleted the game. No opportunities were offered to purchase it. After the most recent update a few weeks ago, however, it seems like all of the music has been scrubbed from the game. Considering the soundtrack was one of my favorite aspects of the game, this is quite the loss. I used to open up levels I had long since beaten just to listen to the theme..!
