### 1/5 — Useless app

*2025-03-14*

Server access unavailable always

**Developer response:** Hi, the server access issues have been resolved in the latest update. The app now connects quickly and identifies coins reliably. I’d appreciate it if you could give it another try and consider updating your review.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work - Servers always busy error

*2025-03-13*

Glad I didn’t pay for this app. It doesn’t work. I always get a servers are busy error - try again later. I’ve already deleted the app since it doesn’t work.

**Developer response:** Hi 2krl, the server errors have been fully resolved in the latest update, and the app now connects quickly and reliably. I’d appreciate it if you could give it another try and consider updating your review.

### 1/5 — Volksy48

*2025-03-13, version 1.0.5*

Unfortunately can’t give this app no stars which is what it deserves so am giving it a mandatory one star as there is no way to access the identify button because there are two big buttons (one-telegram, two-Facebook) in the way. Will have to do better than this.

### 2/5 — Not exactly

*2025-03-13*

App is nicely designed and easy to use however, the details are not exact. Also, after a couple of tries the app comes back with an error, saying the server is busy. Tried a few times afterwards and same error message. Good app but need some work in my opinion.

**Developer response:** Hi firemanstew, thanks for the feedback. Server errors have been fixed, and recognition accuracy has improved in recent updates. The app should now identify coins more reliably.

### 1/5 — Wrong info

*2025-03-13*

Just to try it out, I had it to analyze a Kennedy Half Dollar coin. I tried 3 times. It always identified it as an Eisenhower Dollar coin. Just doesn’t seem to function well. I will try a few other coins to see if it does any better.

**Developer response:** Hi MHughes123, sorry for the confusion. Recent updates have greatly improved coin recognition, including U.S. coins. Please update and try scanning your Kennedy Half Dollar again—it should now identify correctly.

### 1/5 — Does not identify correctly

*2025-03-13*

I tried to identify a coin I knew was 20 cents from Mexico. It identified it as a 1 cent coin from El Salvador. App not working. Junk.

**Developer response:** Hi Zeus Master player, sorry for the misidentification. Recent updates have improved recognition accuracy for coins worldwide. Please update and try again—it should identify your coins correctly now.

### 2/5 — It never scans

*2025-02-23*

I downloaded this app so I could sell my extra coins but when I used my 3 free shots it kept saying “Photo not Clear”. Also on my third shot I moved my coin to a plain white background with decent lighting it still didn’t seem to scan. (The coin I scanned was a 1960 D Jefferson Nickel with the Monticello building on the back)

**Developer response:** Hi ghhhih, sorry for the frustration. The scanning issues have been improved in recent updates, and the app now recognizes coins much more reliably—even under tricky conditions. Please update and try again.

### 1/5 — Not Very Useful

*2024-07-14*

I was hoping this would allow me to scan my coins and get a somewhat accurate estimate of the coin’s condition and value.
This app just identifies what your coin is and gives a broad range of values, seemingly regardless of the scanned coin’s condition.
For instance, I scanned about a dozen Morgan Silver Dollars, varying greatly in condition, and the app gave me the exact same “Range” of 100-200. 100-200 what exactly, it doesn’t say. I’d assume dollars, but since the average Morgan Dollar of that time that these coins are sell for anywhere from 25-50 dollars, 100-200 ends up meaning nothing.
There’s also no database being built of your collection, where you can track data and keep up with your collection. You can only do two things, take a picture of a coin, or load an image of your coin. Then you get that general info on the coin, and that’s it. Your entering of that coin is not saved anywhere. You just hit the back arrow from the information screen and are then back to the take or load a photo main page.
I could see this app being useful the people who don’t know what US coins look like and might need help differentiating a penny from a dime or quarter, but that’s it.
I definitely won’t be continuing my premium account. Thankfully, I got that one month for free. If I had paid for this I’d be extremely upset. As is, I just want to make sure to warn others away from spending money on this app thinking it will be useful to them.
Thank you and have a great day.

**Developer response:** Hi Hunterman328,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. I’m sorry to hear that CoinID didn’t meet your expectations. I understand your frustration with the app’s value estimates and the lack of data tracking for your collection. We're constantly working on improving the accuracy of our value ranges and adding new features, like collection management tools, to better serve coin collectors like yourself.

I appreciate you trying out the premium account, and I’ll take your comments into consideration as we continue to develop the app. If you have any further questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out to me at speechl.app@gmail.com. I'm here to help.

Best,

### 1/5 — Can’t recognize spit

*2025-12-03*

I gave it 3 chances to recognize a Susan B Anthony Dollar. By its shape alone it should have been a piece of cake.

No, it’s not a Native American dollar
No, it’s not a walking liberty dollar
No, it’s absolutely not a Kennedy half dollar.

I wish there was a real trash can where I could throw this garbage app. Just deleting it is insufficient.

**Developer response:** Hi,

Thanks for giving the app a try and for sharing your feedback. A Susan B. Anthony Dollar should normally be recognized correctly, so the result you experienced is definitely not what we aim for. Image recognition can sometimes be affected by lighting, angle, or image clarity, which may lead to incorrect matches such as Native American Dollar, Walking Liberty Half Dollar, or Kennedy Half Dollar.

We are continuously improving the recognition model to reduce these cases and make identification more reliable. If you’re open to giving it another try, taking the photo on a plain background with good lighting usually helps improve accuracy.

If you still have the photo, feel free to send it to younesdotdev@gmail.com
so we can investigate and improve the recognition for this coin in future updates. Your feedback genuinely helps us make the app better.

### 1/5 — Too many bugs

*2025-06-26*

Takes a long time to connect to the servers. Misidentifies coins on a regular basis. Out of the first 7 coins I tried, 6 were misidentified by year and/or denominations.

**Developer response:** Hi NapaMuse, sorry about that. I appreciate the report. Please update to the latest version, we’ve improved matching and connection stability, and retest. If it still fails, send 2–3 photos and your phone model/OS to younesdotdev@gmail.com
so I can fix those exact coins. Thanks, Younes

### 1/5 — Scam/Worst coin app in the store

*2025-06-23*

This is THE worst coin app in the store, and with so much garbage in the App Store already, that’s not an achievement you want. It has never worked…the “update” just now also didn’t make it work. It only ever says it is “trying” to connect to servers, which I assume since it serves no actual purpose, is code for “steal your personal data”. As an FYI I do not grant permission for even one little bit of my personal data to be captured, retained, shared or sold. You should be ashamed of this app. Please delete any data associated with my downloading this app, please and thank you. Apple, you should be ashamed too. AWFUL app.

**Developer response:** Hi specialappssk, sorry for the bad experience. The app doesn’t collect or sell any personal data, identification runs securely on servers only to process images. The connection issue you faced has been fixed in the latest version, which now works smoothly. I hope you’ll give it another try and see the difference.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2025-05-15*

Continuously saying Error due to high demand. Every day, every time. Try another app

**Developer response:** Hi Liz4Run, sorry for the trouble. That error came from a temporary server overload, which has since been fully fixed. The app now connects instantly and identifies coins much faster. I’d appreciate if you could give it another try.

### 1/5 — This app doesn’t work

*2025-03-26*

I have tried numerous times on different days and at different times of day to have this app identify a coin. Every single time it says that. There is an error and that the servers are busy.

**Developer response:** Hi An ekename, the server issues you faced have been resolved in the latest update. The app now connects reliably and identifies coins quickly. Please give it another try.

### 1/5 — Server never available

*2025-03-16*

I’ve tried to identify coins at various times during the day and evening. The server is always busy, which makes this app rather useless!

**Developer response:** Hi, the server issues from back then have been fully fixed. The app now connects quickly and reliably, so you can identify coins anytime.

### 1/5 — Does not work.

*2025-03-15, version 1.0.5*

Has not identified any coin I have.

### 1/5 — Bad start

*2025-03-14*

I haven’t been able to use this app because every time I have tried it keeps giving me this message: Error
We are experiencing high demand on our servers at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes. Thank you for your patience.
Try Again

It is obvious that either your servers lack the capacity or this app doesn’t work.

I have high expectations for this app, but so far, not impressed at all.

**Developer response:** Hi Wild1720, the server capacity has been upgraded and the high-demand errors have been resolved. The app now connects quickly and identifies coins reliably. Please give it another try.

### 1/5 — Sadly no

*2025-03-14*

Got this yesterday and immediately tried it out on a non coin. Surprisingly, it identified it correctly.
Tried it out today on a nickel. First kept getting error messages. Tried back later and it identified it as a quarter. Tried again it identified it as a dollar.
Sadly, it’s a no. One star.

**Developer response:** Hi Soitsme, sorry for the errors you experienced. Recognition accuracy and server reliability have been greatly improved in the latest update. I’d appreciate it if you could give it another try and consider updating your review.

### 1/5 — Won’t Even Connect to the Servers

*2025-03-14*

I downloaded this app a couple of days ago thinking it could be fun and useful. It has been nothing but a disappointment as I cannot even get it to work.
The app loads and I can either take a photo of a coin or upload one from my camera roll.
As it tries to identify the coin, I get an error stating, “ we are experiencing high demand on our servers at the moment. please try again in a few minutes. Thank you for your patience.”
I have tried dozens of times and this is all I get.
The program is worthless to me so far.

**Developer response:** Hi Mhallkc, sorry for the frustration. The server issues have been fully resolved in the latest update, and the app now connects quickly and reliably. I’d appreciate it if you could give it another try and consider updating your review.

### 5/5 — Amazing app you need this if you’re a queen enthusiasm.

*2025-03-14*

Very accurate and knowledgeable really amazing to have this ability to find out if you’re holding a valuable coin or not it’s a great app I love it.

### 5/5 — Truly educational

*2024-10-02*

I am currently an avid coin collector, I’ve been collective since I was 7 years old maybe a tad earlier, I stopped for a long time, and recently got back into it much more serious this time, I’ve never been one to get coins slabbed, pcgs brings so much to the table though in every aspect, knowledge reputation and an awesome free app which I can compare my coins to,heard nothing but positive things about pcgs except the pricing, we’ll this app is free and that shows they are not trying to just make a buck they are trying to educate and teach the younger generation the ins outs rights and wrong and it’s highly appealing to younger collectors especially ones who don’t believe these money hungry businesses, now that being said I would definitely spend my hard earned money getting my coin graded with the finest company for numismatic in the world ! I have a rather large collection I’m going to start sending them in because I believe I could potentially have some pop coins and if I turn out to be wrong it’s going to be super fun doing so as well ! Thanks for the app guys!

### 5/5 — This is the best app for coins EVER!

*2024-09-19*

I use this app at least once a day to calculate the average price of my collection and to make sure I don’t get a bad deal when I buy coins. I love to surf through all the different varieties as well and find new additions to my collection. I also love to learn about the history of each coin and the rarity. I also love the population estimate feature and the numismatic rarity feature. These add one are just life savers in knowing how rare my coin is. I also love the recommendations on where to purchase each coin. Normally, coins I thought were impossible to find, wouldn’t show up if I searched Safari; now I can see where they have past sold, and where they’re selling now. Overall, any collector who wants to get deeper into numismatics should download this app immediately.

### 5/5 — Pretty Awesome so far!

*2024-09-13*

This is the app that I have needed for a few years now. I really never bothered to look through the App Store because I just assumed there would not be an app that could actually do everything that I needed done. I buy & sale antiques & vintage items & occasionally I will see a good deal on a bulk coin Lot, so I usually have to go thru the whole lot one by one and look up the info on each one, and while it is a lot of fun & very interesting, it’s very time consuming.. so I just happened to look in the App store and this app scans the coin, tells you everything about the coin in a matter of seconds & lists in a collection for you. It can also grade the coin for you and has alot of other features as well. So basically, this App covers any & everything that someone may need done when collecting coins of any kind. Not just American coins… all foreign coins as well. Excellent App for coin collectors or for anyone that may be just needing to identify what type of coin, grade, estimated price, ect… of just a few coins.

**Developer response:** Hi Jacquon,

Thanks so much for the amazing review! I’m thrilled to hear that "CoinID" is making your coin collection process easier and more efficient. It’s great that you’re finding it helpful for both identifying and grading coins, whether they’re American or foreign.

Keep scanning and discovering, there’s a whole world of coins out there! 💰✨

### 5/5 — Identifies Coins and silver

*2024-09-11*

Started collecting coins with my kids few years ago, now we’re in the process of cataloging, grading (with our nonprofessional eyes) and valuing the collection..one coin at a time. I spent hours taking photos of coins and looking up specs and history of each coin on the internet. Weighing and measuring, it’s been about 2 coins an hour until I found CoinSnap. We just got the app and have gone through two coins but it’s a fantastic app for what I need. I just put the coin on a flat surface with good light and good contrast between the coin and background. I’m using a black mouse pad, works great. The app guides you through taking the picture, it tells you when to snap the pic. It only took the app 2 or 3 seconds to identify and grade the coin. It presents you with all of the coin attributes you could want, specs (thickness, weight, diameter, scent). I definitely recommend this app based on my use so far.

### 5/5 — Truly educational

### 5/5 — Great information for a novice

*2024-09-11*

I recently inherited a bunch of coins that my grandfather collected. When I was a child I would help him roll the coins he would get from the local bank and when he saw something he thought might be of value he collected it. Many of these coins have been locked away since he passed. This site has saved me much frustration, for one, finding out the coins shouldn’t be cleaned. I’m very excited to find out what I have. Keep the stories coming so I can become educated. Thank you.

### 2/5 — Constant Server issues

*2025-03-18*

Error
We are experiencing high demand on our servers at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes.
Thank you for your patience.
Try Again

**Developer response:** Hi JJRayRayj, the server overloads have been fixed in the latest update. The app now connects quickly and identifies coins reliably. Thanks for your patience.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2025-03-16*

Frustrating for a single reason: once you have the coin in your collection, you never get to see the details you receive when you first scan the coin (which works well) Otherwise, it works well.

**Developer response:** Hi mypaperstuff, that feature has actually been added in a recent update, you can now view full details for coins in your collection anytime. Please update and give it another try.

### 2/5 — Sounds Good

*2025-03-14*

Plain and simple the server is always too busy. So what is this app doing meanwhile? ☹️👎

**Developer response:** Hi, the server overload issues have been fixed in the latest update. The app now connects reliably and identifies coins without delays.
