## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App useless

*2013-06-08, version 1.2*

Ever since the update I can't get it to work at all with my lectures I can't figure it out. This app needs major work.

### 1/5 — Audio

*2012-03-09, version 1.01*

Very frustrating.

No audio except with headphones plugged into iPad.

Can't take notes in iPad while listening.

Sometimes the PowerPoint just won't show up.

Doesn't seem like this was designed with a student in mind.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2011-06-05, version 1.01*

I login, download a video, nothing happens

### 2/5 — Audio Issues

*2014-01-14, version 1.23*

Properly functioning audio requires use of headphones.

Audio will not continue to run in the background, if users simultaneously attempt to access other apps on their tablet.

This app offers limited utility for users attempting to reference the Internet during lecture in a quiet home or office.

### 2/5 — App has gone way downhill

*2012-10-07, version 1.13*

This used to be a solid and simple app, lacking in features it should have had but doing the job for distance learning students. Instead of seeing it get better by doing obvious things like improving the scrubbing to allow one to easily rewind and fast forward, integrating Evernote or Dropbox or something so that we can actually export notes (why would I use notes if I then have to painstakingly copy and paste them into Evernote later?), or allow more full screen displays, the app has now hit buggy level. I literally have to delete the app and reinstall it every SINGLE week just so a new lecture will appear. Think about that for a moment. Someone needs to get on this and take care of this issue because distance students are dependent on this app to get their education.

### 2/5 — Logging Out

*2012-10-03, version 1.13*

In order to see the new lectures you have to log out. If you don't set the app to automatically log in, you have to have a Wi-fi or 3G connection in order to log in. If you set the app to auto log in, you CANNOT log back out....thus you can't download the new apps. You have to uninstall the app and reinstall. Thus losing any notes you may have put in the slides. It has great potential for distance students....please fix! This didn't used to be a problem.....I noticed it starting with this Semester. It started before the IOS upgrade, but it needs an update itself. Especially for those with only Wi-fi.

### 2/5 — Need a lot of Work

*2012-09-21, version 1.13*

App does what it suppose to do, but it is lacking functionality. It needs better video scrubbing, a way to collapse the panels and most of all a way to refresh the list of videos. I have to logout and login back to see new videos.

A way to mark already watched videos would be great too.

### 2/5 — Awesome ...if it didn

*2012-01-18, version 1.01*

If anyone from DePaul is reading this, PLEASE try to fix this app. I'm an exclusively online student who travels a lot. This app is perfect for keeping current on lectures while flying and hanging out in airports, but unfortunately, it frequently 'resets' and loses all my downloaded lectures. This has happened twice while I was on international flights and expecting to spend the whole flight watching lectures. I open the app, it forces me to log in again (but it's mysteriously forgotten my username this time), and suddenly all but half of one lecture is gone. In fact it seems to do this 'reset' sequence and delete content every 1-2 days and I can't figure out what triggers it ...really frustrating. I feel like I'm spending all my time just redownloading the same content. This app could be sooo convenient for online students if it worked realiably. Unfortunately, "the iPad app ate my lecture" isn't a valid excuse for missing class.

### 2/5 — Broken and missing features

*2011-11-16, version 1.01*

I have used the app now for a little under a year. At first, it was invaluable to me. i was able to watch lectures and take notes during my lunch break at work. However,my notes would start to disappear randomly. Then my password stopped working. I reinstalled the app twice to no avail.

To really make this app useful:
1) Notes need to be preserved
2) View points should be saved like COL online.
3) This should link to D2L or CoL's collaboration tools.

Also
4) do we really need to log in EACH AND EVERY TIME we want to review a lecture?

### 3/5 — Work nice need more features

*2013-06-06, version 1.2*

The app works great. I wish you could speed up the lecture, the ability to play the lecture from the notes and ability to skip ahead ( or back ) a min at a time.

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It does the job

*2013-10-16, version 1.22*

Good app

### 4/5 — Great App!

*2013-04-29, version 1.15*

This has been a great app to use so far! Being able to download lectures and view them later works great and meets student's core needs. Swapping between video and the whiteboards worked great. Thanks for providing this capability!

### 4/5 — Great App for Distance Learning

*2012-06-18, version 1.13*

This is a solid app for viewing COL-enabled courses on the iPad. Lectures can be downloaded to your iPad and are viewable offline. I end up catching up on lectures during train commutes. As for the actual app, you can easily toggle between the screen, video, and whiteboard. The notes functionality is good for toggling back to an important section of the lecture. My only gripe with this app is the lack of forward/backward scanning. If you want to rewind a few seconds, it's difficult to do because you have to move the slider on the time bar. Inevitably, you end up backing up too far. Overall great app for distance learning!

### 4/5 — Pretty good so far.

*2011-06-17, version 1.01*

Using it for Csc 211. Video quality is ok, note feature cool, overall really good. Had some glitches with using Bluetooth headset - my music on the iPad kept playing whenever I pause the lecture. Another few suggestions - get multitasking working, would leave app and have to go back into class and lecture starts from beginning, would be awesome to playback from where it left off. Also suggest better organization of viewing lectures from previous classes (folders?) would be nice.

### 3/5 — Great except it crashes frequently

*2013-01-13, version 1.15*

I'm exclusively a DL student. This is a great app, but it crashes frequently. When I relaunch it I have to figure out where in the lecture I was (what time). For this, the time scrubber at the top of the page is hard to use.

### 3/5 — A great step in the right direction...

*2011-06-25, version 1.01*

This App is a great step in the right direction for DePaul. It's no surprise that CDM makes leaps ahead of the rest of the University. With that said, the app is very glitchy. I have a 1st Generation iPad and the app constantly crashes and loses my notes. It almost makes note taking useless. I would also recommend building in the capability of saving where the user last left off. I have to leave notes of when I last left off, and usually said notes get mysteriously deleted. The UI is a little boring. I might advise going to a black glossy background. The white makes it very difficult to look at for long periods of time when sitting in dim or no lighting.

### 3/5 — great start but still has bugs

*2011-05-23, version 1.01*

I love the concept of not being glued to a computer when I need to review recorded. I love the one button taps to switch between the the projector and white boards, etc.

The best features is being able to take notes that are given a time stamp and screen shot.

Only problem is these notes and all downloaded lectures seem to get randomly deleted from time to time.....
