I understand that apple weather has fees, but there are many other free ways to get the weather that this app is not worth it anymore for me. **Developer response:** Hello! (WeatherDaemon.WDSJWTAuthenticatorSer- viceListener.Errors error 2.)” Tried hard resting phone, deleting and reinstalling app, changing app permissions, nothing works. No thanks, goodbye. ### 1/5 — Was good but unimpressed by the developer *2025-11-13, version 1.7.0* Suddenly locking features behind a paywall without even mentioning it in the app, or in the update notes ### 1/5 — Backdoor update to put features behind a paywall. *2025-11-12, version 1.7.0* The developer put the ability to have a Home Screen widget behind a “premium subscription”. This was up until today a regular feature of this free app. The patch notes for this update read “bug fixes and improvements”. No communication, no justification, and a dishonest update to paywall existing free features - I would wholeheartedly not recommend this app or this developer given their duplicitous behaviour. Previously you could tip the developer from within the app if you wanted to, and I would have been inclined to do so. Now, I will most certainly not pay a monthly or annual subscription to have a widget on my Home Screen. This for an app that does gets all its weather data from the Apple Weather app, and hence has no costs in acquiring or hosting this data. I expected more from the app. Cool minimal style I admit- But it's so basic. Check in for two minutes, weather, great I guess. Every interesting or good feature is locked behind a paywall. A LOW priced paywall obviously but it's a time scam just to find out you get barely any features, and some people can't just start a subscription. At least the widgets should have been included.
