### 3/5 — Retiring app

*2026-08-23, version 2.19.0*

It's a pity Colgate are retiring this app in Dec.2026. It's not about the accrued points for me but rather, knowing that I'm brushing properly and being able to check the battery level.

### 2/5 — Retiring app December 2026

*2026-06-09, version 2.19.0*

Spent +++ $$$ dollars on an AI toothbrush just to open it up download the app and be told they’re retiring the app in December 2026

Shame. It’s a great concept.

### 2/5 — Was useful but now it’s broken

*2026-04-19, version 2.18.2*

Used to be a great app for reminding me to brush and helping me get all my teeth clean. But since Sept 2025, the “push notifications” and “share data with Apple Health” functions appear to have broken and I can’t fix them, limiting usability.

### 2/5 — Bare bones 🦴

*2026-02-01, version 2.18.2*

I used to enjoy this app — been using it since the release of the original E1 toothbrush (which I still use), and the ‘hum’ — but there have been so many bugs and features taken over the last couple of years. There used to be brushing games, a log of your flossing progress, and even get credit towards a brushing streak for brushing at least once a day (not the current two-a-day scenario). additionally, you used to get two points for brushing your teeth two days in a row; now – with the latest update – you have to brush your teeth five days in a row just to get the same two points! Extremely bass-ackwards.

Also, the store is store is almost completely empty… which completely defeats the purpose of brushing your teeth to get points for discounts on products (that now no longer exist). Even the website store is empty: no more e-toothbrushes, no brush head re-fills, the toothpaste I used to order is no longer available. Nothing. Plus, even if you log into your account on the website, the points you accumulate in the app aren’t even available. and, I just found out this week that the “hum” toothbrush battery only lasts two years (which is extremely disappointing), while my E1 toothbrush is still going strong.

The only thing that seemed to get better with this most recent update is syncing with Watch… which used to be pretty hit-or-miss. The app is supposed to sync with Watch, iPhone, and iPad (which is main reason I chose a Colgate e-brush over other brands), but still has a pretty hard time recognizing which device is nearby without the “are you still the owner of this device” error message.

### 3/5 — Not accurate

*2026-01-05, version 2.18.2*

Find the brushing activity is definitely not accurate

### 5/5 — Is really good and it cleans my teeth

*2025-12-30, version 2.18.2*

I use it reminds me when I’m supposed to do it and I can play music from it so I play what does the fox say?

### 4/5 — Great

*2025-11-29, version 2.18.2*

I wish they still had the pirate ship game!!

### 2/5 — The app started out great.

*2025-11-19, version 2.18.2*

I’ve been using this toothbrush app for 8 months now and it’s been great until recently. The app constantly doesn’t detect the zone I’m brushing in and constantly freezes or takes a long time for zones and to respond at all. This is like 30 seconds between presses to get to settings.

### 3/5 — what about partials

*2025-09-10, version 2.18.2*

great app for people with full mouth of teeth but what about people with partial teeth. my mum only has bottom teeth but app is taking away “points” because not full mouth brushed!!!!

### 5/5 — Genuine Game changer

*2025-08-17, version 2.18.0*

What either way you look at it and no matter how you use it this APP will improve the health of your teeth for good !

### 3/5 — App upgrades

*2025-07-15, version 2.17.1*

Like the app and the tracking of brushing techniques and streaks; however, the Question of the Day has not updated in 7 days. I tried logging out and back into the app but no luck. Also tried deleting the app and reinstalling it with no luck. Additionally, there are too many “clicks” and “swipes” to get to the guided brushing portion. A shortcut, or one-touch button would be very handy for someone who just wants to get after the brushing and tracking portion!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Retiring a perfectly good App

*2026-07-11, version 2.19.0*

We bought 3 of these for our family for the app, tells us when it needs charging, when I’m using too much pressure, how battery is left in the toothbrush. All about to go due to the App retiring, I spent $100 each on these toothbrushes to now be told the app is retiring. I want my money back!!!! I shall be writing to the nz consumer trading act, to find out what my rights are. I’m fuming!!! (I love the app, the toothbrush, but am so disappointed with Colgate….). I note, still being sold in NZ for $144!!!

### 1/5 — Abandoning us

*2026-05-09, version 2.19.0*

I don’t give straight up 1 star often, but Colgate is abandoning us hum toothbrush users, blithly retiring this app that allows one to keep tabs on when they last changed their brush head, need new batteries, or just the last time they brushed! (It contributes toothbrushing data directly to Apple health.) But Colgate has decided to pull the plug on us…because, I guess they’re cheap? It’s a cold move and definitely has me rethinking what this brand entails.

### 1/5 — About to be decommissioned!

*2026-05-05, version 2.19.0*

Just got word that the Colgate Connect app will no longer be supported after Dec 11, 2026 and we then can’t access account/use accrued points. The main selling point and extra cost/value was in the app features otherwise we’d buy a much cheaper, dumb electric toothbrush. Really disappointing and undermines having trust in Colgate going forward. They have nerfed the software features needlessly over time and now killed it off. No doubt they’ll bring out a new replacement in the future to try and get people to buy it instead. No chance now Colgate.

### 1/5 — Problem with app

*2026-03-17, version 2.18.2*

Ehen I brush my teeth, I have a problem with the brush recognizing that I am brushing my teeth on the inside of the lower left molars and on top of them. Everything else works fine.

### 1/5 — Last time.

*2026-02-10, version 2.18.2*

Strike three!!! You’re OUT!!!
This is mow the third and FINAL time I am contacting you about the app not counting my brushings!
It is bad enough there is NOTHING I would like on which to spend my points, but the app does NOT COUNT MY BRUSHINGS!!! It gets me angry enough that there is nothing on which to spend my points, but WORSE, is that the app does not register some of my brushings!!! Therefore, I am removing the app from my device!!! No longer will it be able to piss me off so greatly that I want to be rid of my Colgate brush!!! I am done with the app!!! P
Goodbye and good riddance!!!
Paul.

### 1/5 — useless

*2025-11-14, version 2.18.2*

unstable app. deletes user accounts. Shop not functional. no support

### 1/5 — Always freezes and lags

*2025-09-11, version 2.18.0*

This app always works at the start, every button worked and the amount of time to brush my teeth would work, but now it just freezes and lags, it takes me 4 mins to brush my teeth now because the app doesn’t sync up with my toothbrush, for such an expensive toothbrush you’d expect the app to work with the toothbrush.
I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app many times to see if that will help with the lagging problem and it just doesn’t, Colgate you need to fix your app asap

### 1/5 — Review

*2025-07-15, version 2.17.1*

Doesn’t correspond with the actual activity. The activity of testing your angle or speed doesn’t get you points in reality. It says it does, but it doesn’t give you points.

### 1/5 — App saying “ provided country is not supported “!!!

*2025-07-13, version 2.17.1*

I haven’t given any country details when I signed up.. very disappointed

### 1/5 — Log in problems

*2025-05-07, version 2.16.1*

I can’t login to a device unless I also log into my email on that same device. This makes it difficult for multiple users. Especially for kids.
