### 2/5 — Not UX friendly

*2026-02-26, version 8.14.2*

Not easy to send or copy any information within the app. Policy numbers, subscriber ids, can’t email, text medical cards from within app.

### 2/5 — It’s a struggle

*2026-01-15, version 8.13.1*

I’m looking for a physical therapist. It gives me the name and address for providers but it doesn’t do anything else. I have to google the address to figure out what office the provider is at. Not as helpful as I had hoped.

### 3/5 — The two factor auth is too much and half the time doesn’t work

*2025-09-01, version 8.9.1*

The app is like a front end for your insurance company to see the activities. Half of the time when I try to get into the app, it will ask me for a code that was texted to me and when I put in the code correctly, it says it’s incorrect. Only generated one code. The only option is to close the app or request a new code and if you request a new code, it’ll take five minutes. You can’t even charge anything in this app so it seems like the security is overkill, especially when it doesn’t work right. Also the email notifications let you know that there’s new activity to see in the app but I wish they would share a little more information or at least allow options in the app that would let you pick how much of a little information to share by email. I wish there was also an option to set your own multi factor authentication options.

### 1/5 — They added 2FA that can’t be disabled

*2025-07-21, version 8.7.2*

I log in with Face ID from my phone and still need to input a code every single time I log in

### 1/5 — 2FA breaks

*2025-07-11, version 8.7.2*

Text-based 2FA breaks regularly, making it impossible to use the app for long periods of time

### 2/5 — Apple wallet Id Cards button gone

*2025-07-09, version 8.7.2*

was preciously able to add the Insurance cards to apple wallet now the button is gone.

### 1/5 — Broken Share button

*2025-01-04, version 8.2.0*

The share button under Cards does nothing

### 2/5 — Messages and contact stopped working

*2024-03-20, version 7.4.0*

I have tried killing the app, restarting my phone and still unable to get into messages or chat from the app.
I know I have a new message but can’t get to it and unfortunately the site is worse and only ever shows me the initial welcome message. Sooo frustrating!

Error showing for messages is a timeout message on the whole page.

Chat button/link just does nothing at all.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work anymore useless if you don’t have IOS 16

*2024-03-02, version 6.8.1*

Probably a short while ago there was an update which screwed everything up. Used to work fine. Now I can’t log in anymore. Without IOS 16 the app is useless. Old version still downloads but doesn’t work anymore, unable to log in. Please fix this issue.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-02-29, version 7.3.0*

1st time downloading and logging in it will work but won’t load anything. After that will not log in again.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in, so cool.

*2024-02-27, version 7.3.0*

I would love to be able to log in any sort of way on this app, password, FaceID, literally anything.

### 1/5 — App update impacts older phones

*2024-02-26, version 6.8.1*

The new update to the app requires iOS 16.0. Manu older phones cannot update to iOS 16. So the app is no longer usable. Thanks collective.

### 3/5 — Can’t login

*2024-02-05, version 7.3.0*

I’m trying to login using Face ID which says it was successful but it’s still stays at the login screen.

### 1/5 — Stuck at login screen

*2024-01-30, version 7.3.0*

Face ID nor entering password unlocking the login screen. Can’t proceed further

### 1/5 — Update this with Face ID

*2024-01-05, version 7.1.0*

Lord get with the times and get Face ID . No one wants to put in their information every time they get on the app.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2024-01-01, version 7.1.0*

I can’t believe this is my new insurance app. It won’t verify my email. Keeps saying they’re servers hit a snag. It’s been days now.

### 1/5 — Repeated requests, no cards

*2023-05-25, version 6.3.0*

Not sure why I am requesting for the 3 rd time a set of medical cards.

Cards are being requested because they are needed.

Please fix the app or your process so an easy request like ship me new cards can be completed.

### 4/5 — Can’t zoom insurance cards or add to wallet.

*2023-02-06, version 6.0.0*

It would be really nice to be able to add cards to wallet from the app. Also, you can’t zoom in on existing card images.

### 4/5 — Find care needs serious help with loading

*2023-01-23, version 5.3.1*

It’s a good app other than specialists not being accurate and find care refusing to load very frequently. I’ll have to check back periodically and hope I get lucky. and that’s super frustrating when trying to find a doctor in network. The provider accuracy probably has to do with how the data is ingested which limits it’s practical convenience (which is the point of the company right?). For example, it’s hard to figure out if a provider sees adult patients without having to go to each of their website. This persists with the webpage too so isn’t app specific but the webpage find care renders quickly and consistently. Could be my company specifically though.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — 2 Factor Auth Completely broken

*2026-05-04, version 8.17.1*

It constantly asks for 2 Factor Authentication even after checking remember device. When I enter the code it texts me it says it’s wrong and then won’t let me resend a code. Idk how it’s 2026 and you can’t implement a working 2FA. Not even worth using the app just go on the computer.

### 1/5 — Frustrating app

*2026-03-27, version 8.16.0*

Called 7 providers listed as in-network on this app, most of them said they don’t take my insurance anymore, one number was for a completely different doctor, and two doctors no longer worked at the places I called. So nothing was accurate and everything is out of date. My ID cards were also wrong and they said they can’t fix that. So literally everything in this app is wrong Such a frustrating app.

### 1/5 — So bad

*2026-03-19, version 8.15.1*

Constantly buggy, gives inaccurate information about what’s spent so far. When you search the doctors it does not tell if it’s network or not. Sad swing at the Cigna.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-03-16, version 8.15.0*

Took almost 2 years for them to approve a claim for which I was fully covered and had $0 patient responsibility for.

Then they sent a check to the provider and there “was an error”. The error was never followed up and 2.5 years the claim ended up in collections.

So here I am applying for mortgages with a medical claim in collections that Collective Health just never paid the provider for. Very strong legal case if it isn’t resolved and impacts my application.

Would give 0 stars if possible.

### 1/5 — Annoying login

*2026-03-03, version 8.14.2*

I hate how it makes me put in a code from my text messages every time I log in with Face ID on my phone, let me have setting to disable this or remember my device. Then after I’ve logged in it asks me if I want to turn notifications on every single time. I don’t want to, stop asking. Stop being so annoying!!!

### 1/5 — Useless for finding in network providers

*2026-02-25, version 8.14.2*

Do not rely on the app to find in network providers
I was told pro tip don’t use it

### 1/5 — 2FA code required too often

*2026-01-15, version 8.13.1*

I shouldn’t have to do a 2FA every single time. Find a reasonable balance.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work when you need it

*2026-01-10, version 8.13.1*

Won’t load card images when I needed it at the ER

### 1/5 — Process claims wrong

*2025-08-22, version 8.8.0*

Collective health is not just an app—it is a front end for your insurer to process your claims. They process claims incorrectly with significant regularity, and their customer support, while trying to be helpful, seems ill-equipped to deal with issues when they come up. The app is fine, but the service is not if you wan t your claims processed correctly and on-time.

### 1/5 — App broken

*2025-07-29, version 8.7.2*

App has been broken for weeks. Fix it come on! I can’t get to my insurance

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good

*2020-12-17, version 3.2.3*

Good

### 5/5 — It kept bugging me for a review. It was irritating.

*2020-02-10, version 3.1.7*

Stop it!!

### 5/5 — The eCard Alone is Awesome!

*2019-02-27*

The ability to view your card and send directly to a provider is awesome - if going I a new provider you can do it in advance. Saves time for all. The others features are thoughtful and similar to the desktop / laptop experience.

### 5/5 — Errors after update

*2019-01-03*

I loved this app until the last update. The “plans” page doesn’t show any info and when searching for providers it says it cannot load. I’ve tried on another device with the same results. So the only helpful thing about the app at this point is that it shows my medical cards, which I can reach in my wallet for.

### 5/5 — So helpful!

*2018-12-14*

I love this app! Not only is it beautifully designed but it also gives me the information that I need at my fingertips. I even learned something new that I have access to certain benefits that I didn’t even know I had, like access to One Medical! Great discoverability and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Great company, great app

*2018-07-06*

This app was a great way for me to see my benefits and figure out how to utilize my health plan. It was definitely a surprise to have an app that was this user-friendly and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Best insurance app

*2018-02-07*

I rarely review apps, but this app was definitely a surprise.

I was looking to see if a lab was covered and how much I would need to pay if I went out of network, the app had it right there. Didn't need to call anyone, didn't feel like they were hiding information, it was right there.

Not only that, but on a visit to the dentist, I needed to see whether or not my plan had money left to get a filling done and my last claim and my spending was right in the app so I could just answer the question before I left the office!

You guys have definitely made using healthcare a lot easier - I've used all of my other insurance company's apps and have been frustrated because they just don't work or just look like their website shoved in an app.

Thanks for saving me time and the frustration of having to understand my health insurance!

### 5/5 — Huge convenience factor

*2018-01-04*

The ability to submit all of my FSA receipts and claims with a picture has saved me a ton of time. Also nice to have all of my previous bills handy. Always have great, helpful interactions w/ Collective Health!

### 5/5 — This app is amazing

*2016-06-08, version 1.1*

I found the podiatrist of my dreams

### 4/5 — Love the new update but wish rx was included

*2024-10-05, version 8.0.73*

I love the new update and makes it easier to find things. For the additional benefits though when you click on pharmacy the app crashes. Also as an employer benefits administrator, I would love to see pharmacy medication lookups, pricing estimators, etc within the app through integration or more accurate descriptions for employees to find this information. Right now with CarelonRx, you have to go into the Anthem Sydney Health app which confuses some employees
