The searches are difficult and confusing, and the statistics that did show up are things that you can find online. For one, my daughter is currently deciding between three majors, but trying to find a university that offers all three is impossible with this app. It only supports OR functionality and not AND. If you want to split out the colleges by any dimension, distance, major, tuition, well, you better do multiple searches. And be prepared to wait, as the app is slow. Sorry, this doesn't offer me anything more than a Google search. But the ad banner works great, annoyingly insists on finding colleges near me, what if we're planning a college visit trip in advance? ### 2/5 — Good info, frustrating to get to it *2013-09-10, version 2.0.4* I like the info provided by the app, however, because it takes forever to load, I typically do not wait around for it. The concept is good in that you can compare info from school to school in the same format. However, again, I hardly use the app because each time that I go to open it, I get extremely frustrated staring at the opening screen with "loading......" across the middle of the screen. An app that has a complete catalog of colleges in the US with searchable data, integrated into a nice map display, with a good note taking capability could be very valuable. This app achieves part of that, but not enough to make it useful. There are lots of free searchable databases on the web. An app needs to take advantage of the mobile nature of the iPad to bring some real value. Here are some of the problems that limit what this app can do: The searchable database of colleges is good, but why does the search only show a list of colleges, with no ability to map them? Conversely, I should be able to go to the map and see all the colleges within the selected area. It's possible to kind of achieve this by entering a city or zip code after tapping the "i" button, but that's really clunky. And there's no way to filter the results. I don't want to see the local School of Massage and Acupuncture when I'm really only interested in 4 year colleges. And they really need to fix the "current location" pin that keeps dropping onto the map, over and over again. The bottom line is that this app is marginally useful, but could be so much more with a little bit of work. Truthfully, I am very interested in all of the things that it CAN sort by but I have yet to be able to use it and I, too, paid to unlock the features. I have an iPhone and my ios is updated. Description says that this bug was fixed. I used to easily search each college and look at all of the majors listed or even sort by the major that I wanted to find and now you can only see the most popular majors and they are not in alphabetical order because they are in order of popularity. Very frustrating!
