## Newest reviews (10 of 60)

### 2/5 — Stop nagging me

*2023-05-15, version 10.0.11*

A decent dictionary app, but the daily nagging to leave a review is doing my head in!

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2022-10-04, version 10.0.11*

Generally useful, except for:
The app’s choices for ‘Word of the Day’ are sometimes just bizarre, and it has an irritating tendency to revert to the ‘WotD’ even when you are in the middle of typing out the word you really want translated.

### 4/5 — Speaker

*2020-03-07, version 10.0.11*

What do the German words sound like ?

### 3/5 — Ok

*2019-05-19*

It‘s too slow.

### 4/5 — Good

*2019-03-20, version 10.0.11*

Good

### 2/5 — Indifferent dictionary

*2018-10-21, version 10.0.11*

In comparison with other language dictionaries I have paid for, this is rather ‘thin’

### 5/5 — Very good app for German language learners

*2018-06-12*

Well recommended!

### 2/5 — Disappearing keyboard and duo!

*2018-06-10, version 10.0.3*

Why should we choose the language? Can’t the dictionary guess what language the word belongs to?

And when we press “x” to erase the word we searched for last, why does the keyboard disappear? We will type again!!

Otherwise it is a rich dictionary that works offline... but please fix the above.

### 4/5 — Yeah

*2018-05-24, version 10.0.3*

I love dictionaries. So worth the money!!

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2018-05-21, version 10.0.3*

Most words but missing some. Also, doesn’t provide perfect tense helping verb (hat, sein) or even corresponding past tense form of verb.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2026-05-16, version 10.0.11*

I have Collins dictionary for several other languages and really like them. This version is no better than Google translate and not as good as DeepL.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2023-05-06, version 10.0.11*

Doesn’t show conjugations of verbs. Doesn’t show plurals of most nouns. Translations seem to be largely brief and lack nuance compared to other dictionaries. I’m not sure why this is, since the Collins German online, and other Collins German dictionary apps, have long detailed translations and conjugations and plurals. I’m asking for my money back and choosing a different app. Avoid!

### 1/5 — Without pronunciation!

*2021-11-10*

14 euros in your rubbish bin.

### 1/5 — Not much thought in UI

*2021-05-05, version 10.0.11*

Constantly having to tap german to english when entering a series if german words (it resets the other way after each word) is the most egregious of UI misdemeanours whixh make this app so horrible to use.

### 1/5 — 1 star for continuously bugging me to rate

*2021-04-12, version 10.0.11*

1 star for continuously bugging me to rate

### 1/5 — REMOVE NAGGING RATING/REVIEW PROMPT!!!

*2020-10-11, version 10.0.11*

Please remove annoying review prompt. We've purchased app. Make this something we can turn off in settings.

We should not be 'annoye d into' writing I

### 1/5 — Repetitive message

*2020-03-02*

Every time I start the Dictionary I get this message to rate the App. I would like not to receive this message any mire!

### 1/5 — Most annoying

*2019-09-05, version 10.0.11*

Constantly asks you to rate the app. Eventually I gave in.

### 1/5 — Intrusive & lacks audio.

*2018-08-24, version 10.0.11*

Always asking for 5 stars & still no audio. Intrusive.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2018-07-24, version 10.0.11*

Not worth paying for.
1. Word of the Day is set up backwards. Instead of giving you a German word they give you an English word. Backwards from every other Word of the Day app I have used.
2. Bare minimum of a dictionary. For example, if you look up the word ‘boy’ in the app, it gives you only a one word translation, Junge, and absolutely nothing else. Correct, but what about the other 3 definitions and all the sample sentences that Collins’ full website has? Really - 1 word on the app vs 4 complete definitions and 7 samples on the full website.
Overall, a very bare bones app - for the cost a full dictionary should be provided.
