My German Collins dictionary has an audio so you can hear the words. It would be nice to have more specific words. I looked up sugars and found the Greek word for sugar but only one word for a specific type of sugar, namely glucose. Would be good, too, to have verb tenses and moods included for verbs listed. What I’ve had to get used to is what seems to me to be a bit eccentric when it comes to language dictionaries: the meaning and use of words in English are presented in Greek, and vice versa. As I am learning Greek, I would, of course, prefer a primarily English-based presentation of the Greek meanings and uses of English words. Having said that, I have found that some of this enforced Greek has advanced my learning of the language. Why can’t it link with my Kindle app or any other interactive dictionary searchers like for all the other languages. Just. Why? Awesome dictionary regardless, but I never use it, because word reference is just as easy on my computer- which I’m forced to use because I want two apps open side by side instead of switching screens every time I want to look up a word. I really wanted to use this app to improve my Greek vocabulary but it seems that it’s no longer being maintained, and the result is this broken behaviour. I guess I could rescind the permission to send push notifications and just use it as a dictionary, but for such an expensive price they really shouldn’t ship a broken app. ### 1/5 — Needs audio *2019-09-27, version 10.0.11* The app needs to add an audio element where you’re able to hear the new words you are learning and know how they sound. Very critical in learning a new language. Inconsistent, untranslated examples, useless fuzzy search, minimal grammatical information. By comparison with Collins own French and Spanish dictionaries this is bad, amazing that Collins should lower its standards to this extent. POL ### 1/5 — Annoying marketing strategy. *2017-01-16* Every time you open the app and make a first search you are asked to rate the the app with five stars. It is a very annoying feature for anyone who doesn't wish to rate it, especially not with five stars. ### 1/5 — Spoilt *2014-11-25, version 6.1.3* The latest update has completely spoilt this dictionary. I use it all the time and now find it very difficult to do so. The slightest miss spelling brings up no possibles, which we need when looking up Greek words as they change depending on tense and case so there is always some guesswork when looking up an unfamiliar word. Now that has become nearly impossible to do. ### 1/5 — Good product, turned bad. *2014-11-21, version 6.1.3* It saddens me to write badly about this dictionary. It was good, it׳s now nearly useless. No browsing. No fuzzy search. No wild card search. None of the features that used to be so good. Please restore these immediately.
