I get a notice under settings once I’m signed into my hex that says device needs updating. It appears to go through but nothing updates. Same notice is there.

I never leave reviews but this app is probably the worst I have ever tried. The customization section is the worst, community effects don’t apply, firmware does not update. Everything is bad. Wish I knew this before so that I don’t complete the purchase.

Auf alten Videos sieht die App von Cololight ganz anders aus. Da konnte man zum Beispiel auch ganz individuell jedes Cololight selbst einstellen, in welcher Farbe man es möchte. Bei dieser aktuellen App geht das garnicht… nur vorprogrammierte Farbeinstellungen. Oder komplett nur eine Farbe die man wählen kann. Find ich sehr schade :(

For some reason the light gets stuck and the only solution is to reboot and sometimes the reboot has problems pairing with the network, phone and lights. Disastrous.! When you change the effects, it gets stuck and changes to orange and you have to restart and set up everything from scratch.

this app has been busted since the day i got it. firmware updates won’t complete, it crashes, it’s buggy. it won’t let me save a default scene and just randomly resets to its own Aurora default scene over and over whenever the app experiences the slightest lapse in connectivity. trash. i like the light though, so i’ll keep it.

Will work fine for a while but then all of the sudden it will just disconnect. I will reset everything and then out of the blue it will tell me it can’t connect to WiFi. I’ve deleted both my devices again & it won’t let me connect anymore (yes I’m on the WiFi ghz it’s requesting, I turn off anything private too so it can connect). After 5+ years I’m ready to toss them.

I’ve been using the Cololight plus with this app for two weeks and it works fine. No issues setting up, it stays connected to the network and it is responsive to the app every time. 

I suspect the people who rate it low are having issues because they are using a plug that has too low ampage. I started off using a plug that only gave out 1amp but it clearly wasn’t enough. So I checked the manual and then I switched to a 2.6 amp and it works perfect.

Fantastic app, works really well — would love to see a widget as an accompaniment, to make it easier to turn lights on/off without unlocking the device, but that’s a fairly minor complaint :)

Edit: Turns out I entered the wrong WiFi password, now it works fine.

This app worked great until the most recent update, now it won’t let me connect to the Cololight, and says “device offline”.
