Looked promising so I signed up, every color match was grey on a yellow wall. Tried all different lighting. All grey. There is no way this app is accurate.!

Doesn’t accurately identify paint colors

I do not pay subscriptions for apps. It is theft. What is particularly annoying is when an app does not reveal that it is a subscription app until after you’ve downloaded it.

If y’all would like to price this app at a reasonable rate, I might use it; but, $4.99 for an app that I, a professional artist, might use once a month? Nope. The value just is not there.

It matched my dark almost black brown to light blue. Its hilariously bad at matching

Color matching accuracy depends heavily on lighting, shadows, glare, and camera exposure. Very dark browns (especially “almost black”) can reflect surrounding light and pick up cool tones, which may cause a blue-leaning suggestion if the lighting is uneven or the surface has shine.
For best results:
• Use natural, even lighting (avoid yellow indoor bulbs)
• Hold the phone steady and close to the surface
• Avoid shadows or reflections
• Tap different areas and compare the confidence % shown
Many users get highly accurate matches when lighting is controlled, and we’re continuously improving detection precision.

Got this to match the paint in my bathroom. Yeah, it can scan your wall color, but it’s useless because the lighting will totally change the color identification from room to room. We have the same color throughout our house, and depending on the room, you get a totally different color selection. Ended up dishing out the money to buy a color identification tool.

Camera-based colour identification will always be influenced by lighting conditions (natural vs artificial light, colour temperature, shadows, reflections). The app measures what the camera sees, not the underlying paint formula, so the same wall can appear differently across rooms even when the paint itself is identical.

For best results, we recommend scanning in neutral daylight or using the app as a close visual match and reference, rather than a lab-grade replacement. Dedicated physical colour sensors can reduce lighting variation, which is why professionals often use them.

That said, many users still find the app useful for narrowing choices, browsing paint books, and getting quick approximations without specialised hardware. We appreciate you sharing your experience — it helps set realistic expectations.

Downloaded the app to check my wall paint’s color. It wouldn’t even let me use it till I sign up for trial and that too for 3 days. It gave me the wrong color and took my money 3 days later. Don’t waste your time with it. It’s just out of take your money.

1. The app never charges without user consent.
A 3-day free trial is clearly presented by Apple, and you can cancel at any time in your App Store settings with no cost.

2. The paywall is shown upfront so users can decide before using any Pro features.
Nothing is hidden or “tricked” — this is the standard Apple subscription flow across millions of apps.

3. If the color match wasn’t accurate for your lighting or surface, we’re always happy to help.
Indoor lighting, shadows, and glossy finishes can affect readings, and we have support tools to improve accuracy.

4. You didn’t need to keep a subscription you didn’t want.
If you missed the cancellation window, Apple’s system allows refunds directly through Report a Problem — we respond to those promptly.

I completely understand being upset about an unexpected charge, but it’s not our intention to mislead anyone.
