Like seriously? The whole point of this app is to identify colors using your camera. That’s the one thing it’s supposed to do. But nope, that’s locked behind a premium paywall. So basically it’s just a color browser unless you cough up money. What’s the point of an app called Color Identifier if it doesn’t actually identify color without making you pay first? Total scam vibes. Tried all different lighting. All grey. There is no way this app is accurate.! **Developer response:** Thanks for trying the app and for the clear feedback. It is theft. What is particularly annoying is when an app does not reveal that it is a subscription app until after you’ve downloaded it. If y’all would like to price this app at a reasonable rate, I might use it; but, $4.99 for an app that I, a professional artist, might use once a month? Nope. Very dark browns (especially “almost black”) can reflect surrounding light and pick up cool tones, which may cause a blue-leaning suggestion if the lighting is uneven or the surface has shine. It wouldn’t even let me use it till I sign up for trial and that too for 3 days. It gave me the wrong color and took my money 3 days later. Don’t waste your time with it. It’s giving me results that are completely off. For instance, I aim it on a Salmon/Orange and it’s telling me it’s Forest Green. Useless. Download this app to try and match the paint in my living room. It was a waste of time as all the pictures were coming out too dark to give proper matches no matter the light. Literally used it for about 10 minutes but then a family emergency made me forget about it and the 3 day trial ended and now I’ve paid £49.99 for an app I’ve got no use for and won’t be using again. The most expensive 10 minutes of my life so far. Follow up. Managed to get a refund from apple. Thank you for telling me as I was not aware I could do that. Yeah, it can scan your wall color, but it’s useless because the lighting will totally change the color identification from room to room. We have the same color throughout our house, and depending on the room, you get a totally different color selection.
