## What is Color Precision Camera?

Color Precision Camera brings the film look to your pocket. Choose a film look and it renders live in the viewfinder, so what you see is what you capture. Nothing to apply afterward.

The emulations come from real profiles film stock: the same color science behind Color Precision's desktop products for Lightroom, Capture One, and DxO PhotoLab.

What you can do:

• Shoot with film emulations rendered live in the viewfinder
• Capture in RAW and ProRAW
• Apply halation
• Manual focus, exposure, white balance, and metering
• Switch lenses, level the horizon, and frame with grids
• Export RAW and HEIC images to other devices

Shoot in RAW and your original stays untouched. Shoot in HEIF and the film look is baked into the photo.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-19

Step-by-step tutorial. New installs get a guided walkthrough of every control on first launch; find it any time in Settings.

Change any zoom pill's focal length. Long-press a pill and pick from the focal lengths your iPhone can actually deliver, including the intermediate ones that sit between the standard stops. The pills always run from wide to long.

Remember settings. The app now reopens exactly as you left it: film stock, scanner, EV, white balance, zoom, format, aspect ratio, grid and HDR. Turn it off in Settings to start every session from the defaults.

Zoom into your shots. Pinch or double-tap any photo in the Photo Lab to zoom in, and drag to move around.

Filter the Photo Lab by file format, so you can see just your ProRAW or just your HEIF shots.

A Color Precision album. Every shot you take is now filed into its own album in Photos, and a button in the Photo Lab takes you straight there.

Halation now matches the viewfinder far more closely, and photos taken with a crop keep the same glow you framed.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-01

Fixes a bug that hid the Redeem Code option in Settings unless Pro was already active.

The Action button now works: press to shoot, slide to zoom.

Fixes a freeze when sharing several photos at once from the Photo Lab, and a case where the shutter could stop responding after opening the Photo Lab.

New installs no longer start in a paid format on iPhones without ProRAW, so you can shoot straight away.

Photos taken while holding the phone sideways in Widescreen or 3:2 were cropped to the wrong shape and lost part of the frame. They now match the framing guide exactly.

Double-tap the viewfinder to switch between the rear and front cameras.

The camera now recovers on its own if another app or a system fault interrupts it, instead of leaving a black viewfinder.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-30

Photo Lab: browse the photos you shoot in the app. Each photo shows its emulation recipe, camera settings, file details, and location. Favorite, share as RAW or HEIF, and delete. Rotates to landscape.

HEIF photos are now written at the resolution you select on every lens, and the top bar shows the size you'll actually get.

ProRAW fixes: captures on a switched lens no longer fall back to HEIF, and 48MP previews are full resolution.

Faster favorites with smoother animations.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-27
