## What is Color Specimens?

A flower beside the road. The sky before sunset. A sign you noticed while traveling.
Keep those colors together with the photo that inspired them.

Color Specimens lets you sample up to eight colors from a camera or library photo and build a personal, searchable fieldbook.

ZOOM IN AND PICK YOUR COLORS
• Take a photo or choose one with the system photo picker
• Tap the image to collect up to eight colors
• Use up to 8× zoom and a long-press loupe for fine selection
• Drag sample markers to adjust their positions
• Add, remove, and reorder colors
• Resample colors in saved specimens too

KEEP COLORS AND CONTEXT TOGETHER
• Save photos, sample positions, and color values on your device
• Add a name, note, and tags
• Filter to favorites
• Search names, notes, tags, and color codes including HEX, RGB, and HSL

TAKE YOUR PALETTE WITH YOU
• Share a palette image in your chosen color order
• Copy HEX, RGB, and HSL values together
• Use your finds as references for design, illustration, clothing, or interiors

BACKUP AND RESTORE
• Export a JSON backup containing photos, colors, notes, and other specimen details
• Restore adds missing specimens and never overwrites existing ones
• Backup files are not encrypted, so choose storage and sharing destinations carefully

Photo and color processing, storage, and search happen on your device. No account or automatic cloud sync is required. Photos and specimens are not automatically sent to the developer. There are no ads, analytics, or behavioral tracking. Exported palettes and backups are sent only to destinations you choose.

Color values depend on lighting and camera adjustments in the source photo. This is not a calibrated instrument for measuring physical colors.

Available in Japanese and English. Free to use.
