From what I saw very nice improvement. Little wary on the AI thing as that tends to make the cost of things go up from what I experienced with another app. **Developer response:** You were very clear about wanting actual painting rather than tap-to-fill, and that criticism mattered. ColorMinis now includes Paint and Airbrush tools for painting directly on the 3D model, along with blending, masking and materials. The app today is very different from the version you reviewed. ### 4/5 — Didn’t work at all when downloaded, devs fixed *2026-08-08* After they updated, a week later, the app works now. But they have a history of breaking it, and that is completely unacceptable. And it’s getting in the way of their own success. I hit the play button and was told I have to watch an ad or subscribe to a premium. I have to watch an ad or pay a subscription to do basic gameplay. Ridiculous and sketchy. **Developer response:** You were right to question that experience. A model marked free should feel free to use. We’ve since changed the free experience: 75+ 3D models can now be painted without ads, and the core Paint, Airbrush, Materials and AI tools are free.
