From what I saw very nice improvement. Little wary on the AI thing as that tends to make the cost of things go up from what I experienced with another app. **Developer response:** You were very clear about wanting actual painting rather than tap-to-fill, and that criticism mattered. ColorMinis now includes Paint and Airbrush tools for painting directly on the 3D model, along with blending, masking and materials. The app today is very different from the version you reviewed. ### 4/5 — Didn’t work at all when downloaded, devs fixed *2026-08-08* After they updated, a week later, the app works now. But they have a history of breaking it, and that is completely unacceptable. And it’s getting in the way of their own success. The app itself is really nice, and I’m giving four stars to encourage the devs. Why not just make a solid app rather than trying to inject always online server side garbage that breaks it? **Developer response:** Can you let me know if it's still an issue for you? I bought the premium package thinking it would unlock them all and it didn’t then said f it and bout 40 dollars of gems and never got those either I want my money back or what I paid for **Developer response:** You spent real money and didn’t receive what you purchased, so your frustration is completely understandable. We’ve improved purchase and account handling since then, but if anything you paid for is still missing, please contact support with the Apple receipts so we can investigate your account properly. ### 3/5 — Love the game, but one big problem *2025-04-14* I love playing this. It’s an excellent way to relax and pass the time. The only problem I have is the subscription not functioning properly. I have the subscription to not have ads and to access all the models. The app says I have the subscription, but the app doesn’t act like I do. When I try to choose a model it says I need to watch an ad or get a subscription. When I click the subscription it says I already have it, but still requires I need to watch an ad. **Developer response:** ou paid for access and the app showed the subscription while still blocking you — that was not an acceptable experience. We’ve since rebuilt a lot of the subscription/account handling. Thank you for sticking with ColorMinis despite that frustration, and please contact support if any entitlement is still missing. ### 4/5 — Love how create it is, but… *2025-04-01* It has some flaws, where there are people who use the service to design, but cannot afford to pay 6$ a month due to budgets. I really wish we could watch an ad just to get the thing if we wanted. **Developer response:** Thank you for raising the budget issue so thoughtfully. We didn’t want creativity to depend on a subscription either. ColorMinis now has 75+ models you can paint free without ads, and the core Paint, Airbrush, Materials and AI tools are free. We hope the current version feels much more welcoming. ### 4/5 — Good game but… *2025-02-05* Hi developer, I love the games super fun… but one thing it takes forever to make diamonds, and premium is not always in everyone’s budget. **Developer response:** Thanks for the kind words — I’m glad you’re having fun! 🙏 We heard this feedback, and the latest version makes unlocking much easier and cheaper: you start with enough free gems to unlock 10 figures, and you can unlock most others by watching 2 ads (and after a figure is unlocked, it’s just 1 ad to access). Also, there are no ads during the coloring session. ### 3/5 — No Archive and Missing Models Post Update *2025-01-17* The app NEEDS an archive that holds all purchased models. After the update, Twin Goddess models are no longer there. There are no info on what happened, or if they were removed or if they are locked behind a membership. I purchased a few of those models to test out some ideas for painting and now they’re just gone. **Developer response:** Losing access to models you had already purchased is especially frustrating, and we understand why an archive would matter. Some creator models had to leave the catalog, but purchased-content history deserves clearer handling. Full 3D rotation of the models has been added, which was really needed and awesome! Just make this a normal app that rotates with iPad orientation and its 5 stars for me! I hit the play button and was told I have to watch an ad or subscribe to a premium. I have to watch an ad or pay a subscription to do basic gameplay. Thanks for calling out the old flow. ### 1/5 — Deceptive app *2025-12-18* I tried purchasing 100 Gem in app for what it said was $4.99. It charged $5.99 and gave me 20 gems. Reported this to Apple. **Developer response:** Sorry about that — you’re right to flag it. A UI/text bug was showing the wrong price/pack for some users, and it has now been fixed in the latest version. Because Apple handles billing and refunds, please continue with your Apple report for the charge. But. *2025-02-07* Like the title says absolutely love the game, but I do think six dollars a month is kind of crazy for a coloring game and the fact that you’re pretty much forced to pay for it is also crazy. For many years, i have wish for improved graphical updates. now its finally here. it looks georgous on ipad air. the colors pop, the contrast is just right, but one small critical point is that. the normal lighting is a little to bright, if your figure hasn’t been colored yet, move the camera around to see what i mean, the lighting is sometimes super bright and makes the figures appear not as persistent as they should be. another little point of interest that i noticed, is mostly concerning the dress dolls. “most of them” retain there legacy options which is fantastic. but tatoo is missing here third “i’ll say pants to keep it store friendly”. the ones used for her dress cannot be selected and used with the other “store friendly term: take tops”. other than those few things, the app is fantastic as i said. the balancing between free models and paid. can always be adjusted. as ive seen. good luck on future updates. please keep the legacy stuff alive. **Developer response:** Thanks for being a longtime supporter! I’m not ashamed to say that I use both the app and the actual website. I have not regretted one day of this subscription. That you can choose your own color schemes as well as essentially color by number is a game changer that most coloring apps don’t do. You can only follow their color schemes. There are a couple subtle differences between the app and the website, one being that on the website as you get into the higher number color palettes, when you pick a color you can see the name of the color ( leather brown, blood red, etc. ). This is one feature that I would like to see transition to the app. It helps when keeping track of your colors. Also, I would like to see a feature where you can input the palette number and go directly to that palette, rather than having to constantly scroll through the palettes to go back and forth. Finally, I feel there should be a option for a yearly subscription, rather than keep track monthly. Other than these minor things, it really is the best color app on the market. The model selection is good and growing, and the diversity in color pallets is nothing short of amazing. I’m usually not one to make recommendations to a developer, but I’m making an exception this time because I have enjoyed the app so thoroughly, that I have subscribed to the premium membership. If you are like me, and enjoy color theory and the extensions thereof, it is worthwhile to do so. My recommendation: Please install a search engine for being able to look up colors more quickly. (I.e. if you are looking for the color associated with cork, type CORK into the search engine and have it bring up a few colors associated with cork, or that may resemble cork for immediate use.
