Also, the new update where you are forced to select a keyboard shortcut to copy a value in a palette is annoying, please bring back a way to just select the colour with a click by default. ### 2/5 — Paid for Pro, not doing a subscription *2026-07-11, version 4.0.0* A great app, and I bought Pro early when I didn’t have to because I wanted to support you guys. So here’s my question: what are you going to do for people who supported your team early and bought Pro? I’m not doing a subscription for something I already paid for. A yearly fee may be fine for new purchasers—that’s up to them to them—but as for those of us who bought Pro early, THAT was assumed to be our “one-time purchase”, and you certainly didn’t dissuade us from that notion. The least you can do is is maintain legacy features for longtime Pro purchasers (you know—the features we already paid for), and if that’s what you’re doing, then I’ll humbly delete my review, change back to 5-stars, and go back to singing ColorSlurp’s praises as I’ve done for the past 5 years. But if you’re going to follow the dishonest developer trend of paywalling features that we’ve already paid for and then giving us the canned line about “not expecting a lifetime of updates for free” (which is NOT what we’re asking for; we’re asking for the software we paid for to function as originally packaged at time of sale), then I’m out. I really hope that’s not the case, though, because I’ve always liked your app and your team. ### 4/5 — Amazing tool! *2026-07-08, version 4.0.0* I use everyday for work, but I wish you guys have a lifetime license. If you want any features you’ll need to pay twenty dollars a year. How could anyone feel that charging a subscription for any sort of color picker app is okay? There are no servers to run or security patches to deploy. Absurd. *2026-07-01, version 4.0.0* $20/year to export the colors I already picked myself? ColorSlurp used to be a great, no-nonsense utility and now it's chasing subscription revenue for no reason. Uninstalling and finding an alternative that doesn't paywall a basic export button. Huge fan over the years soured by their greed. ### 1/5 — Needs Updating *2026-01-10, version 1.5.3* Used to be great. I was part of the newer beta in TestFlight but that appears to have fizzled out. Would love for the dev to continue working on it but doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment. ### 1/5 — Useless on iPad *2025-12-04, version 1.5.3* I would give this zero stars if possible. There is no way to pick a color directly from your iPad screen You can only pick a color from one of your photos. So the only option would be to 1) screen shot what you need, 2) save it as a photo and 3) pick the color from the photo. This thing needs deep permissions to work, and even then it made me click “pick” 4 times before it actually works, won’t work on full screen pages, and basic features are locked out ### 1/5 — Your app is buggy *2025-08-06, version 3.9.2* When right clicking the colour slurp in the menu bar, I can’t get out of the ‘slurping’ stage after I have picked my colour. Surely you guys have noticed this bug so far? STOP MAKING EVERYTHING A SUBSCRIPTION! ### 1/5 — Nice set of tools, quite outdated now without any HDR colourspace support *2025-01-23, version 3.9.2* I’ve been a happy user of Color Slurp for sometime and it is well designed with a nice set of tools. The web officially supported HDR color spaces such as OKLCH and OKLAB since mid last year and ColorSlurp still has no support, so sadly I have had to move on. Seems totally abandoned now. I use this for note taking, paint projects—anything under the sun. It’s great to see how far they’ve come with the app, AND they have the integrity to continue providing support for those of us who bought the app early. That’s one of many reasons why I recommend the app, even if you’re just discovering it now. Beyond the everyday usefulness of the app itself, you want to support developers you can trust.
