The best part is that whatever system they use for determining if you already watched an ad or not is broken! I am trying to watch a show and even rewinding the video causes a 3 minute ad to trigger. Done with this app. I don’t give it 1 star because the UI is pretty good but it means nothing when you can’t even watch the content. I pay $60 a month for dish and have to watch 3 minute ads still. Ill be going elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Vertical video and auto-play ?? *2021-03-31, version 78.0* Why is the iPad app vertical?? It’s been bothering me for months! UPDATE: the vertical interface has now been bothering me for years! I’ve been a comedy central viewer since the 90s, sneaking Kids in the Hall and old Gilda Radner and Robin Williams (and maybe a little Pryor when the parents weren’t around) stand up sets as a kid, and we even got my very nice very polite mom hooked on South Park! I’ve been watching the daily show since Craig Kilborn and can remember being apprehensive about that new Jon guy taking over. I just tried to watch Michelle Obama’s Daily Show ep and it just kept starting in the middle of the Eric Andre interview. This has been happening for a week. I deleted the app and reinstalled, and both this and the Nomzamo Mbatha episode straight up won’t play. Michelle Obama I get the spinny wheel, and Nomzamo Mbatha I just get a black screen saying it isn’t available. I’ve probably missed 10 episodes of the daily show in six years overall and to have it melt down while trying to watch Michelle Obama is just too much. I had to come back to write my review. Please. This app is terrible. Other folks have outlined how terrible it is in technical terms. I’m giving you the emotional plea. I’ve quit watching all sorts of wonderful CC content because of its dysfunction but usually I can get the daily show to work. I know you can do it. I know you can make it better. Please. ### 1/5 — i just wanted south park *2021-03-30, version 78.0* Ok yes, this was an app for quality shows. But, i think i watched more ads than actual show time. Like there were 2 ads at the start, the intro, then 5 after the intro, im a bit annoyed by it. If the ads were 5 seconds and actually entertaining i wouldnt mind but theyre all about 30 seconds, and i feel thats stupid i also believe that some shows dont want people to screencast a piece of the show, because it could be on a pirated website by now. Some also take an infamous show, post it to their own media and claim it as their own. Piracy is a serious and terrible crime, and plagiarism isnt cool ### 2/5 — Confused app *2020-12-10, version 69.0* The majority of the negative reviews have the exact same complaints dating back for sometime now. I just re-downloaded app on my new phone (so I can watch my favorite Tosh .0 while traveling) and to my surprise the player still as all the issues people were complaining about long ago. My two biggest complaints are that the app doesn’t keep track of my progression through a series and it will make me watch the exact same commercial back to back 12 times. Both of those make opening this app feel like a struggle instead of entertainment. (this is not a review on Comedy Central but the app itself.) OK here comes the TechTeam auto response: ### 2/5 — Like many have experienced great shows, horrendous app *2020-11-08, version 68.0* It’s ironic this one of the apps I use mode frequently on my AppleTV, and it is also maddening to use. I can’t believe the number of times I have to re-sign into my provider, even when I have been using it frequently. Even more maddening, I constantly experience this phenomenon where I’ll be watching a show and in the middle of the show it stops with the message, ‘Sorry, this video is no longer available.’ 80% of the time I quit the app and start again and it works. But sometimes even that doesn’t work. It’s also amazing in this day and age that the app doesn’t remember on other devices which shows I’ve watched, this works with other apps I sign on with my provider info.... One would think one of the biggest media companies would be able to design a better, more user-friendly app!!! But I’ll keep watching because they’ve got the shows I watch..... ### 1/5 — THIS APP IS HORRIBLE! *2020-10-10, version 66.0* I can’t watch pass any first episodes because the stupid thing keeps asking you to “find a provider” and sign in! The issue is that I’ve got 2 different accounts with different providers from their list so I should be able to sign. In and keep watching with no hold ups BUT for some reason it will NOT let me sign in 😡 it keeps taking my in this loop where it appears to be logging me in and returning me to the app but instead it’s taking me to an error screen! I’m so frustrated with this process.. This is by far the WORST constructed app I have ever used and not to mention it’s and “OFFICIAL” App 🙄 ### 2/5 — Confused *2020-09-27, version 64.0* So I am all signed into Comedy Central and the don’t have all the south parks which is silly considering it’s a Comedy Central show. So I download hbomax which I also have hbo so cool. Find now I can watch all the episodes which thankfully to me I have hbo but I think it’s garbage that Comedy Central can’t air there own content unless they sold out. So now I have hbo max on my IPhone but can’t get it on my Roku tv cause freaking hbo hasn’t made a contract with them. Comedy Central should try and stay separate. They have all sorts of content they could release. Over not the best experience with this app. Though it does have stuff you can watch. ### 1/5 — Lots of problems *2019-11-29, version 33.0* A few months ago I stopped using the app because it would cut to an Ad after every scene, so about 50+ AD's for a 30 minute show. I decided to give it another try and now the AD's are at predictable breaks in the show again, but I'll get half way through a show and it will be unable to load the video. What a bummer watching only half of a show over and over again no matter which episode I choose. I try reloading a few times but trust me when I say that the AD's never have a problem loading. I'm back to watching AD's all the time trying to load up the remaining video. Video cuts out on iPad and iPhone. I tried using Chromecast to watch episodes also, but the sound would not work. You are better off finding something else to do than use this app. I see the developer likes to read the reviews, I've tried contacting them in the past, but they see frustrating the users with Ad's and not being able to see content as a feature and not a problem. ### 1/5 — Awful App, unable to watch full episodes of anything *2019-11-19, version 33.0* This app seems to work at first, if you can get past the awful design (no search bar or even alphabetically organized shows) and actually find what you’re looking for, the show starts to play. After getting about halfway through the episode however, the video ends and a message “Sorry, this video is not available” pops up. There is no way to remove it. Starting the video again works for about a second before the message pops back up again. It is impossible to watch videos on this app, literally the only thing it is supposed to do. Absolutely awful and unacceptable. My grandmother could design a better app and she barely knows her way around a microwave. ### 1/5 — Piece of crap app! *2019-09-20, version 33.0* I just downloaded this app & couldn’t watch half the shows I wanted to watch. The other half I tried watching kept being cut off in the middle of them then it would skip to another episode. So I deleted it. Kinda bummed because I couldn’t watch the one show I downloaded this app to watch. Don’t usually write reviews but this is ridiculous. I would give this app zero stars if I could. Read through some of the comments & I am shocked that there are so many one star review & that so many others have had the issues as I have. Some go way back & the developers have the same few response to all complaints. They obviously have no desire to do anything about it.
