I swear it gives me motion sickness. And they’ve changed it multiple times through the years, but never outright gotten rid of it. Just give readers the option to turn off the page bounce, PLEASE!!! There is no reason to have a transition between pages, this isn’t a Slideshow presentation. Just go to Reddit and find a post with multiple images to swipe through - THAT’S ALL WE NEED! Nothing fancy, it’s just distracting ### 4/5 — Awesome Selection But You Can’t search it *2026-07-08* I use the app often especially for its Europe comic selection which I would love more of. Hopefully the cinebook publisher can get added to this app as well, but my main gripe is the search option. Before I was able to select certain authors and artists by selecting on them but that option is gone now. If the search option gets fixed this app is a 10 out of 10. Thank you for your hard work and I know you will get it fixed. I would also like more art books selections and even newspaper strip artists like Hal foster, Alex Raymond, Milton Caniff, and Windsor mccay . Just a preference but there are a lot of books on this app that I can’t get anywhere else which is awesome ### 3/5 — this app is still broken *2026-07-08, version 4.0.2* It’s great that it’s now possible to read comics on this app but the search is a mess. Take Transformers from Image as an example: all five volumes are available but if you search only volume 1 is shown, it shows the other titles in the related section but clicking on it does not show them. It feels like there’s a bunch of comics hidden from view or something. Very frustrating! ### 3/5 — Huge potential, Needs update *2026-07-02* I love the wide variety of books, but it needs some changes: 1. FIX THE SEARCHING SYSTEM PLSS; shows irrelevant answers, hard to find things, and very punctuation and capitalization -sensitive 2. Some books are backwards so I have to scroll through the pages for a couple of mins(as a binge reader this is super annoying)just to start reading 3. In a recent update, the section with new releases was changed and I found out it now just shows promoted books, no matter how recent they came out, and there isn’t even a section with ALL of the new releases, only a couple are shown and I have to search to see if specific books came out, which takes a lot of time with the weird searching system 4. For some reason, if let’s say there are 13 books in a series and I click on the 5th one, then go down to the area where it shows the other in the series, idk why but it only shows the books before, not the whole series Please fix this😫😫😫😫😫😫😫 ### 2/5 — Clunky app *2026-06-15, version 4.0.1* Amazing selection but the app is awful. Search is super inaccurate and actually reading a book is doable but just barely. ### 3/5 — New UI, Lost Feature *2026-05-23* It’s fine to redesign an app and make it more efficient and user friendly. BUT, you left out any user preference settings: especially Dark Mode -even with my brightness turned all the way down, the white background is BLINDING to someone like me. Haven’t tried reading since because of that. I generally use this multiple times a week. Please fix, thank you. ### 2/5 — Awful Search Function *2026-05-21* My main gripe with this app is the atrocious search function. There are things that I know for a fact are available, and cannot find them when I search by title name or author name. I have things in my favorites ready to read but if I search for it, it doesn't show up unless I scroll around randomly. If I search by genre I will eventually find one of the volumes and find other volumes under related volumes, such a frustrating way to find things. You should be able to click on the series name, or author name and see the other things available. As it is, it is very frustrating to find anything. ### 2/5 — Wish this was better than it is *2026-05-18* Its incredibly cool that it has such a massive library for free with a library card but the app has bar none the most utterly useless search feature I’ve ever used. The only time I’ve ever gotten it to work as intended is putting a piece of a title (because full titles don’t work properly for some reason) and then set it to the correct publisher, and then even that only worked for The Last Ronin. I really really want to like this app but that’s an extremely essential feature to be able to find what you want and it just does not work. ### 4/5 — Much needed update but issue with downloaded manga *2026-05-18, version 4.0.1* For material I’ve downloaded that reads right to left, the reader currently starts at the last page. Then, because it’s unclear how to jump to a specific page on iPad (tapping the main page area works on my android phone but the action doesn’t seem to work here), it becomes challenging to get to the "last" page to start. I’ve noticed this doesn’t seem to happen on manga I choose not to download, where it will force a scroll to the "last" item so I can proceed reading right to left. I would also be curious to see if the page turn slide animation could be turned off as a setting. ### 4/5 — Lots of content but lacking *2026-05-13* Kind of want to give this a 2 or even 1 star. Like huge app update and had around 154 book added to shelf all gone with the update. Some all probably never see since they are finished and I came across it when typing names in of other comics. On my ipad i’ve had two issues which i can work around: the app is storing its data in such a way that icloud’s backup wanted to more than double my backup size (up by at least a GB); and every 80 or so pages of manga volumes the screen goes black and i have to reopen the book to continue reading. ### 4/5 — Lots of content but lacking *2026-02-11, version 3.3.2* Missing a few comics other apps have volumes of. Update: sadly nothing is loading on the app and there is no place to check status of the app is having server problems etc. sadly had to take a star away. ### 2/5 — Needs a lot of development TLC *2025-11-03* I love comics and want only the best for this app, but it needs a LOT of work. 1. Search results are chaotic, e.g., the first result in a search for Tom King is a The King comic, which is in no way associated with Tom King - and Helen of Wyndhorn, which he wrote, does not appear in the four pages of search results. 2. Search results pagination needs the ability to enter a specific page number in those results to save time. 3. Cropping off the bottom of pages. All. The. Time. Aaaarrrggghhh. 4. GUI proportion issues as you change tablet orientation. 5. When selecting an issue, the dialogue box is too large, off to the right side, and is partially cropped off. At least on my iPad. 6. When resuming an issue, the app sometimes forgets where you were and goes to an earlier page. Repeatedly. 7. No ability to jump ahead in lists, e.g., to jump from A titles to J titles. ### 3/5 — Website Extension *2025-09-10* This app is just an extension of the comics-plus website. Like the website, its catalog is nice and big, but the UI is a bit confusing, the “shelf” (where books you want to read/are reading go) is very messy. The in-progress/not read tab is great, but adding folders to the shelf would be a massive improvement. Recently I had to delete the app bc it wouldn’t load, and downloads are slow. I definitely recommend it as a free way to read some popular comics and manga online. However for online reading in general Libby is an immensely better experience. ### 2/5 — Search function broken beyond using *2025-08-16* It’d probably be good if it worked. Unfortunately at the moment the search function doesn’t work AT ALL — just a blank page where results should be. Shelf doesn’t load. Completely unusable ### 1/5 — Lots of choices with a terrible app *2026-03-23, version 3.3.2* This is so disappointing. There are so many great choices: comics and graphic novels from both major and indie publishers. I love the selection from other countries. But actually reading a book in the app is awful. Extremely laggy, I couldn't easy zoom in and out, it didn't have an auto zoom feature, it was extremely hard to even turn the pages. It was so bad I immediately stopped reading. A lot of promise, but still severely lacking. ### 1/5 — this app is so broken *2026-02-27, version 3.3.2* Please can you fix this app so it’s actually useable? It doesn’t always download. The pages can be slow to turn. Worst of all, it crashes all the time and forgets where I am in a comic! ### 1/5 — The reader is terrible. *2026-01-29* The reader ui is atrocious. On my phone it doesn’t even full screen the books properly. So the pages are smack centre of the screen with big fat white borders surrounding it. You can zoom in but that doesn’t make it look any better. If you’re going to use this service best to just use it on your laptop via the browser page. As it actually displays things properly. (I have over 150 myself) But yeah, had some trouble with the update, but I’m good now so… Yeah! Not sure why that is, but it’s difficult for me to try and get invested in reading something when I know they don’t have all of it… Beyond that, the UI needs quite a bit of work. Swiping through manga on this app is painful. For starters, it has a tendency to randomly start you over if you switch orientations or from 1 to 2 pages. I’ve had it randomly switch me over to a different manga entirely in the middle of reading. But worst of all, when you flip the pages, it is the most jarring thing ever. Every other app I’ve read tries to make it a very smoth transition, this one gives you whiplash and an epileptic seizure at the same time, as it pushes the previous page to the side and quickly brings in the next one, but the movement causes a flash and blur on the screen which is just NOT pleasing to look. God help you if you try to read it at night. Just smoothing out the page flipping would go a LONG way to improving this app! ### 5/5 — Best reading app! *2022-10-16, version 2.05* I love how you have a library of books right at your fingertips! I rate 5 stars! ### 5/5 — Incredible Collection of Comics and Manga *2022-09-05, version 2.05* TLDR up front- an absolutely massive collection of comics and manga, in their entirety, for free, with a library card. Like the actual library it is underfunded. Clunky UI and infrequent crashes. But this app will save you hundreds if not thousands. I rarely write reviews but I am so blown away at the immense catalogue of greatest of all time tier comics and manga that I feel like I have to. We’ve all been there. The library has the series you want to read but only volumes 2, 7, 18, and 46. Looks like it’s another trip to the bookstore to pay 15 bucks for a comic you’ll probably read once for 1-2 hours then donate in 5 years. Finally started reading attack on titan. A few hours in and I have spent zero dollars. All it cost me was fishing out my library card. Yeah it crashes on occasion. Only when downloading and never while reading. One note for the team- the scans of every copy of Berserk are too low-resolution to read.
