This resolved the problem I was observing. Now Compass Commander is working well. With the many recent Apple iPhone iOS changes, it could be that the previous copy was somehow damaged. All is well now. Thank you, Developer, for your kind response to my previous review, as well as your email. I bought a windshield mount for my smart phone just for this app, I love this app. I only have one issue. Whenever the truck comes to a stop the whole display shifts ninety degrees counter clockwise. If I am heading north then it reads west. As soon as I begin moving it goes back to reading accurately. It makes no sense. In some cases, there are no clues other than the GPS coordinates. I recently had an opportunity to compared the iPhone compass app GPS coordinates to the Pro Compass coordinates, while searching for a “missing” monument. The Pro compass coordinates brought me the exact spot of the “missing” monument while the IPhone compass coordinates did not. It’s also great for setting my watches as the app also shows the exact time. The satellites have to all be synchronized or it would be impossible to determine your position. Is a very good app for geocaching! It’s quite clear a fair amount of work went into it. I admire that effort. Unfortunately the user guides and “manuals”are so utterly bad and poorly done I could not even get angry! I was so amazed I had to laugh! I figured it out - but even the most basic guide written logically would have flattened the learning curve considerably. I really like Spyglass but regret that I’m unable to rationalize buying it in its current state. I suggest hiring a professional technical writer to assemble your manuals. You have a good product. Treat it like one. Now every time I open the app I have to click past a stupid pop up that says my subscription expired (never had one) and an ad for Pro version and Spyglass. Also, it used to work consistently on airplanes. But no longer. It’s intermittent at best. Even holding the phone up to the window. Response to developer response: Yes, there is a “Your subscription expired” pop up window with an OK button on top of the ad to upgrade. Wish I could post a screenshot. And no way I paying ransom money to get rid of the popup. **Developer response:** 1) it should not be an "expired" popup, but a popup with an ad of the pro version - you can turn the ad off forever without a subscription by installing the Spyglass app that is a one time purchase. if it is not so, please contact support and we will fix it. 2) on airplanes it depends on your seat - if too much of satellites are behind the metal parts of the plane that it is hard for the device to get the position and it is not an app issue. alternatively, if needed, you can use any of iOS compatible bluetooth or wired external GPS receivers. P.S. Over last 14+ years we have provided free continuous support and free updates with no additional charges to all users of our apps - both of paid and free app version. There is still an option to get a pro app as a one time purchase and get free updates for as long as the app lives. Still a fairly cool compass app. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Amazing service try this *2024-01-06* This app definitely helps to keep tabs on love ones and family members but the work of such tracking apps is usually limited because you always need to access the device you want to keep tabs on in order for the tracking app to work effectively. My question is if i can access the device i want to hack, why would I need it hacked? But i understand we hack devices due to different intentions and to recover some information that must have been deleted or kept from being easily seen, the device will be required to be cloned. Being unfaithful gives rise to a whole lot of issues and situations that might be very difficult to cope with if you don't have an account of what is really going down with your partner when you are not together. If you keep getting these signs it's most likely to be true your partner is cheating. That's not the end of life anyway, you can make a choice that suits you and be to your advantage for something like that to never repeat itself. For anvone that find themselves in this situation, what you need is to contact a private ethical investigator named Kevin at truthhack1((@))Gmail to find out what has been going on behind your back, and fix it as quick as you can. His services are highly rated and affordable, regardless whether your problem is personal or beyond personal, I am certain that whatever you are passing through will be fixed in a jiffy. I am a huge testimony to his exploits and I highly endorse that you write to him. ### 5/5 — Commander a Must Have *2023-06-14* As a beekeeper, I am required to report the locations of my beehives to the State and County Departments of Agriculture. This app makes itself one of my “Go To” tools. It provides all the relevant information necessary to be in compliance with the regulations and reporting requirements. Commander is useful for so many other purposes as well. When I go hiking and when participating in Amateur Radio events, I am able to provide precise direction, location and speed vectors. It’s a really useful tool and addition to anyone’s toolbox. ### 5/5 — Really Nicely Made Compass Map App *2023-01-31, version 3.17* I like this app a lot but it can be confusing because on startup it says ‘Subscription Expired’ and I have no such subscription and never have had one. It makes me wonder if it once was a paid app but no longer is? Am I on a trial? Either way it is nicely done and I enjoy using it, if only that odd little nag screen wouldn’t jump up each startup.
