### 1/5 — Cannot login

*2025-05-14*

App is not working. I can login on the website, but the app just won’t let me click that green login button.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review and for your patience—we’re sorry to hear you had trouble logging into the app.

Since some time has passed, we wanted to check in: are you still experiencing this issue? We’ve made several updates to the app recently that may have resolved the problem, but we’d love to make sure you’re able to log in and use it without any trouble.

If the issue is still happening, could you let us know:

1) What device and operating system you're using (e.g. iPhone 13, iOS 17)?

2) If you've tried updating or reinstalling the app?

3) Whether you're seeing any error messages when you try to log in?

We’re here to help and want to make sure you have a smooth experience with CommuterCash.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
The Commuter Cash Team

### 1/5 — Can’t create an account

*2025-04-23*

App will redirect you to their website to create an account, and after asking for too much information, it will kick you back to the home page and not let you log in.

Possible data collection scam.

**Developer response:** I’m Jenny from Media Beef, the development team working alongside Commuter Connections on the CommuterCash mobile application. Creating a free Commuter Connections account (https://tdm.commuterconnections.org/mwcog/) is a requirement to participate in the CommuterCash program and we apologize if you ran into any issues during the account creation process. We have looked into this workflow after receiving your review and fixed a potential issue that you may have encountered.

Please contact us directly at support@commutercash.org and we will do our best to help you with any other technical problems or to answer any of your questions regarding data privacy. I’d like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to enhance and improve the app.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

Additionally, if you have any specific insights or details about the problems you’ve encountered, sharing them would be incredibly valuable to our team as we work on improvements. We’re always looking for feedback to make the app better for all users.

Thank you again for your patience, and I look forward to resolving this for you.

### 1/5 — Glitchy and non functional

*2025-03-03*

This app is useless. Trips don’t log or record and don’t generate any points. Don’t bother wasting your time on this.

**Developer response:** Hi there – I’m Jenny with Media Beef, the development team behind the CommuterCash mobile app for Commuter Connections. I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you’ve experienced with trip logging and points. We know how frustrating that can be, and we’re actively working to improve stability and performance.

If you’re willing to share your username and/or the email address linked to your account, I’d be happy to personally take a look and help get things back on track for you. Thanks for your patience, and we appreciate your feedback—it helps us make the app better for everyone.

### 1/5 — Misses too many trips

*2025-02-26*

Regularly fails to allow me to start a trip, fails to recognise my work address (maybe the bike rack is a few metres from the actual address??) so does not give me points, and so it is vastly understating my actual commuting and, therefore, points. There is no option I can find to claim a journey that is recorded but somehow is not recognised as a commuting trip despite it being clearly a bike ride from my work to my home.

The last app worked much better.

Would be even better if it integrated with Garmin Connect

**Developer response:** Hi there – I’m Jenny with Media Beef, the development team behind the CommuterCash app for Commuter Connections. I really appreciate you taking the time to share this detailed feedback, and I’m sorry the app hasn’t been logging your trips accurately—it’s definitely not the experience we want for our users.

The issue you mentioned with address recognition and trip tracking is something we’re actively working on improving, especially when it comes to minor GPS variances like a bike rack being slightly off from your workplace location. I’d love to take a closer look at your account and help resolve this. If you can send over your username and/or the email tied to your account, we can investigate and see what’s going on.

We are noting your request for integrations like Garmin Connect—it’s great to know that’s something you’d find valuable. Thanks again for your input—it helps us make the app better for everyone.

### 1/5 — Still broken

*2025-02-24*

It worked for a couple days and then stopped giving me points, the app is still full of bugs and features that don’t work. They should have kept Incentrip which had some issues but at least WORKED most of the time.

**Developer response:** Hi there – I’m Jenny with Media Beef, the development team behind the CommuterCash app for Commuter Connections. I’m really sorry to hear that the app stopped awarding points after just a few days—we understand how frustrating that is, especially when you’re putting in the effort to log your commutes.

We’re still actively refining and stabilizing the app, and feedback like yours is really important as we work out the bugs and improve key features. I totally hear you on the comparison to Incentrip—we know it had its strengths, and we’re aiming to meet and exceed that standard.

If you’re open to it, feel free to send your username and/or the email connected to your account so I can take a look and help get your points tracking properly again. Thanks again for your patience—it truly helps us move things forward.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-02-14*

I’m tired of waiting on the designers and operators of this app to get it functioning, properly and regularly. I don’t know from day to day or trip to trip if just the basic functions of logging in and mapping a trip will allow me to do it. I have to log in and it gives an error message. None of the functions work consistently. It is not functional! They should have left the IncenTrip as it was!

**Developer response:** Hi there – I’m Ryan with Media Beef, the development team behind the CommuterCash app for Commuter Connections. I hear your frustration, and I’m really sorry for the inconsistent experience you’ve had with logging in and tracking trips. That kind of unreliability is unacceptable, and we understand how exhausting it can be to deal with daily uncertainty around core features that should just work.

We know many users relied on Incentrip and appreciated its stability. Our goal is to deliver a smoother, more modern experience with CommuterCash—but we’re clearly not there yet for everyone, and I truly appreciate you calling that out.

If you’re willing to share your username or the email connected to your account, I’d be glad to look into your specific login and trip mapping issues and help troubleshoot directly. Thank you again for your patience and for speaking up—it’s how we make the app better.

### 1/5 — Still not working

*2025-02-12*

It started off recording trips but never giving any points for them. Now for the last two weeks whenever I open the app, all I get is a white screen. They need to fix the app and give points to everyone who has been unable to record their trips. The prior app had glitches but did at least work. Should never have retired the old app until this one was actually working. Have also sent multiple emails and received no response.

**Developer response:** Hi there – I’m Ryan with Media Beef, the development team behind the CommuterCash app for Commuter Connections. I’m really sorry you’ve had such a frustrating experience, especially with trips not earning points and now being stuck on a white screen. That’s not the experience we want for anyone, and I understand how disappointing it is—especially after not receiving a reply to your emails.

We’re currently working on fixes for several issues, including the white screen some users are encountering. I also hear your concern about retroactive points, and we’re actively exploring ways to ensure users are fairly credited for trips that weren’t properly logged or rewarded.

If you’re willing to share your username or the email tied to your account, I’d be happy to personally look into this for you and make sure your feedback is documented. Thank you again for sticking with it and for letting us know what’s not working—it’s what helps us improve.

### 1/5 — Waste of taxpayers money. Useless

*2025-02-10*

Why waste taxpayers funds for the useless app? Designed by same stupid person . I’m very disappointed by the state of MD. Always wasting funds. Waste of

### 1/5 — Still not working

*2025-02-05*

After more than four weeks since the initial launch, it is still an incomplete product. Not to mention some of the basic functionalities still absent. The previous app (IncenTrip), despite its minor glitches, was far superior compared to this.

### 1/5 — Useless don’t bother

*2025-01-24*

Why waste taxpayers funds for the useless app? Designed by same stupid person . I’m very disappointed by the state of MD. Always wasting funds.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Loading Screen

*2026-05-11*

The app has gotten even worse during the last month. Even with full cellular service, the app constantly gets stuck on the loading screen. I usually open the app 5-10 minutes before departure, but it’s taken up to 20 minutes for the app to start logging the trip. By then, I’m too far from my work location to count as a work commute. I’ve requested assistance, but only heard back once in early April.

### 1/5 — Frequent Location Problems

*2026-05-05*

Rarely works. Must be exact home and work locations and and if I’m being honest I don’t love the idea of the app always having access to my location. Even when I’m catching the train to work, it doesn’t count as a valid trip because it’s too far from my home.

### 1/5 — Constant bugs.

*2026-04-29*

Constantly crashing. Forcibly and randomly logging you out. Such an annoying app.

### 1/5 — Historical reviews are accurate

*2026-04-08, version 1.9.0*

The concept of earning rewards for commuting is great, but the execution is poor. I found out about the program and app through the goDMV Commuter Competition. Given the low reviews, I was hesitant to add more frustration to my day. Even though my home and work location are correct and all parameters are met (tracking, commute time, location), the trip log consistently shows trip in progress. I have requested assistance multiple times in the app and have not received a response.

### 1/5 — Crashes Constantly

*2025-10-23*

The idea of getting rewards for your commute is great. Unfortunately, using this app to do it is a frustrating experience and making me wonder if it’s worth it. I have to constantly be monitoring my phone to make sure the app doesn’t crash and I lose the tracking for my trip. Forgot to open the app within the last 2 minutes? Sorry, your trip is ended and you won’t get credit for it. Not to mention sometimes you hit the start trip button and it just doesn’t start. Anyway, great idea, poor execution.

### 1/5 — Waste of taxpayers money. Useless

*2025-07-10*

Why waste taxpayers funds for the useless app? Designed by same stupid person . I’m very disappointed by the state of MD. Always wasting funds. Waste of my time. I deleted the app.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-06-20*

App still not crediting trips from June. Reward processing is longer than 30 days. Credits not applied to transit from office. Horrible app

### 1/5 — App does not work

*2025-05-29*

App stopped logging all commute trips (to and from work) made during peak hours. I emailed to notify the issue and no response was given. So disappointing.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-05-27*

Trips are always under review, points never accumulate because they are cancelled, commuter miles from work destination to home never populate. Submission for rewards submitted over two weeks ago are still under review. Terrible, please fix the bugs.

### 1/5 — Can’t change work address

*2025-05-20*

## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very limited

*2026-05-02*

How can you have a transit app for the DMV that starts at 6:30 am? 90% of my coworkers are nearly done their commute by that time

### 5/5 — Updated Version

*2026-03-08*

The newest version works! Set it and forget it. Great way to help subsidize the cost of commuting to work with minimal effort.

### 4/5 — Better, not perfect

*2025-06-02*

Increasing my review from 1 to 4 stars because they have fixed most of the issues that plagued the app since the initial launch (which was botched, with very poor communication). It works pretty smoothly now, although there are still some extremely basic features that still don’t work, such as deleting a saved address and using Paypal as a payment method. Also it doesn’t let me add a second workplace which is unfortunate for those of us whose work operates offices in several locations.

### 3/5 — Not Getting Points

*2025-06-28*

App not stable. Have had problems getting credited for my commute despite meeting all the requirements - logging my trip as I leave my home or office, and when I get to my destination, the points don’t get credited and even after waiting 48 hours, it still says Trip is under review. I don’t understand why it’s not working - would be nice to know what the problem is, to understand what am I doing that’s wrong.
