## What is Commutre?

Commutre logs your daily commute automatically — detecting each leg of your journey whether you're walking, on the bus, train, ferry or cycling.

AUTOMATIC TRIP RECORDING
Tap a destination (Home, Work or any saved place) and Commutre starts recording. A geofence around your destination ends the trip the moment you arrive — no need to remember to tap Stop.

Or enable Auto-Start: set your commute schedule and Commutre begins recording automatically when you leave home or work during your commute window.

MULTI-MODAL AWARENESS
Commutre uses your iPhone's motion sensors and GPS to distinguish walking, cycling, vehicle (bus, car, ride-share), train, and ferry — all within a single trip. Each stretch is recorded as a separate leg with its own duration, distance, and speed profile.

DETAILED TRIP HISTORY
Every trip is a tap away in the History tab: an interactive map of your route, a GPS speed chart, and a breakdown of each leg. Tap a leg to correct a misidentified mode or add a route number.

COMMUTE ANALYSIS
See patterns across your commute history: average trip time, time by transport mode, duration by day of week, and a trend chart. Use the 7-day, 30-day, 90-day or All-Time picker to focus on the window you care about.

WAYPOINTS
Stops between legs — a bus interchange, a platform transfer — are captured as numbered waypoints with street-level names. The map pins your path from door to door.

COMMUTRE PRO
Unlock your full commute history and in-depth analysis with a one-time purchase. Free users see their most recent trips; Pro unlocks everything.

PRIVACY FIRST
Location data stays on your device. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party servers.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-10

New in this version

• Split a leg in two — when one recorded leg was really two rides (a bus then a train, say), open the leg and split it at the transfer point. Each half keeps its own mode and route.
• Interactive trip map — tap a leg's map to open a full-screen, zoomable view with satellite imagery, so you can pinpoint exactly where a leg started and ended.
• Continue an interrupted commute — if the app was closed during a long wait and a trip was left open, you can now pick it back up instead of only ending or discarding it.

Improvements

• More accurate multi-modal trips — a transfer between two vehicles, like a bus to a train, is no longer merged into a single leg.
• Steadier tracking — obviously-impossible GPS readings are now ignored, so one bad fix can't fragment a trip.
• A long wait no longer ends your commute while you're actively using the app.
• Free users now see their three most recent trips instead of one.

### 1.1 — 2026-06-23

New in this version

• Apple Watch app — start, check and stop a commute from your wrist, with a complication for one-tap access from your watch face.
• Forgotten-commute detection — Commutre notices when you've likely arrived but a trip is still recording, asks whether you've finished and can end it for you (backdated to when you arrived) to save battery.
• Siri and Shortcuts — start or stop a commute and check your current trip hands-free.
• Welcome tour — a quick guided introduction the first time you open the app. Replay it anytime from Settings.

Improvements

• More accurate detection of when you stop and start moving, for cleaner commute timing.
• Edit a trip's end time if it kept recording after you arrived.
• More accurate transit route detection.
• The Lock Screen Live Activity no longer shows a duplicated timer.

Fixes

• Fixed a crash that could occur on a fresh install.
• Improved data reliability and on-device storage stability.
