## What is Complete & Conquer?

If you're anything like me, you're an elder millennial who misses a simpler time. Mountain Dew, late nights, and the freedom to ignore anything that resembled responsibility. These days you might need a little push to get things done (I sure do). So I built one.

Complete & Conquer is a native iOS and macOS to-do app with a retro, gamified twist, built on the nostalgia of the real-time strategy games we grew up on. Every task you finish earns credits. Spend them to put up buildings and deploy units, climb the tech tree to unlock new hardware, and watch a little pixel-art base grow straight out of your real-life productivity.

There's a catch. There's always a catch. Ignore your tasks for too long and the enemy takes notice. Let things pile up and your base comes under attack, and the only way to push them back is to start finishing things again.

Turns out crossing a boring errand off the list feels a lot better when it also means commanding an army.

A few things worth knowing:
• It's free, and the core always will be. Using Complete & Conquer as a to-do list and habit tracker will never cost a thing. No paywall on getting your life together.
• It's a real task manager underneath, with scheduling, reminders, and priorities. It just happens to be fun to open.
• The loop is simple and weirdly motivating: finish tasks, earn credits, build cool stuff, defend your base.
• Native on both iPhone and Mac.

A word about money, because I owe you one. When I launched this app I said the to-do core would stay free, and I meant it. Recurring objectives, unlimited tasks, the full base game through Tier 2, plus a small Home Screen widget and Lock Screen widgets — none of it costs anything, and none of it ever will. No paywall on getting your life together. But I'm one guy, not a venture-backed productivity empire, and the lights don't keep themselves on. So: Commander Pro, entirely optional, for commanders who want the deluxe treatment.

What Pro adds:

• iCloud sync — your base, tasks, and progress on both iPhone and Mac
• Tier 3 endgame — advanced tech, the Orca, an elite-tier base
• GSD Intel — a field-intelligence briefing with completion analytics, streaks, and a raid log
• An interactive checklist widget and the rich medium widget — check off objectives without opening the app
• Dynamic Island quick-deploy — see today's progress, page through objectives, and secure them right from the island
• Raid tuning — Relaxed to Intense, plus quiet hours
• The Mac menu bar companion (existing users keep it free — you were here first)

It's $4.99 a month, $29.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $49.99 once for lifetime, at an early-supporter price that goes up later. One purchase covers both iPhone and Mac, because charging you twice for the same app felt like a raid on YOUR base.

And if you never spend a dime? Genuinely fine. Complete your tasks, defend your base, tell a friend. That was always the deal.

Full disclosure: I'm building this app instead of doing my own to-do list, so there's a steady stream of new features on the way. Whether that reflects well on the app or poorly on me remains to be seen.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-24

Commander Pro gave you the deluxe war room. This update takes it everywhere: your objectives now follow you onto every Apple device you own.

The to-do core is still free forever. No caps, no tricks. Here's what landed.

NEW AND FREE FOR EVERYONE:
• Siri & Shortcuts - "Deploy an objective," "Secure the next objective," or ask for a status report, hands-free
• Spotlight - search your objectives from the Home Screen and jump straight in
• Control Center + the Action Button — secure your top objective in one tap, no app launch required
• iPad command view - a proper two-pane war room: objectives on one side, your base on the other, in any orientation
• Handoff - start an objective on iPhone and pick it up on Mac or iPad, mid-thought

COMMANDER PRO:
• Apple Watch app - objectives, streak, and today's progress on your wrist, with watch-face complications and a tap to secure
• Family Sharing - one Commander Pro purchase now covers your whole household

…completing objectives by Siri, Control Center, or a widget never costs a thing. …

### 1.1 — 2026-08-01

When I shipped v1.0, I promised the to-do core would stay free forever. Still true: recurring objectives, unlimited tasks, the full base game — all free, no caps, no tricks. But the lights around here don't keep themselves on, so v1.1 also introduces Commander Pro, for anyone who wants the deluxe war room (and to keep one indie developer in Mountain Dew).

NEW AND FREE FOR EVERYONE:
• Recurring objectives — daily, weekdays, weekly, or monthly
• A small Home Screen widget plus Lock Screen widgets — credits, tier, streak, and today's progress
• Raid fixes — you no longer take damage after clearing your queue (sorry about that)
• Reliability and performance work — and the app may now ask for a review. Tell it how you really feel.

COMMANDER PRO:
• iCloud sync — your base, tasks, and progress on both iPhone and Mac
• Tier 3 endgame — advanced tech, the Orca, an elite-tier base (Tiers 1–2 stay fully free)
• GSD Intel — a field-intelligence briefing: completion analytics with a 14-day chart, streaks, a raid log, force readiness
• An interactive checklist widget and the rich medium widget — check off objectives without opening the app
• Dynamic Island quick-deploy — see today's progress, page through objectives, and secure them right from the island
• Raid tuning — Relaxed, Standard, or Intense, plus quiet hours

$4.99/month, $29.99/year with a 7-day free trial, or $49.99 lifetime at an early-supporter price (it goes up later). One purchase covers both iPhone and Mac, because charging you twice felt like raiding YOUR base.

The Mac menu bar companion is now part of Pro, but existing users keep it free. You were here first. Loyalty matters.
