## What is Compound?

Compound is a workout app with exactly one workout in it.

NO MORE BOOKKEEPING
Compound runs on double progression, a tried-and-true method for getting stronger. We just handle the bookkeeping. Hit your target reps, and the app bumps the target up for next time. Hit the top of the rep range? The weight goes up (5 lbs for big lifts, 2.5 lbs for accessories) and your reps reset.

If you miss a set, just long-press to log what you actually did, and the app holds the weight steady until you're ready. No spreadsheets, no thinking. If you want a slower climb, you can tell the app to require up to five successful sessions before it forces a weight jump.

MORE THAN JUST MOVING WEIGHT
Every workout starts with an actual warm-up: three minutes of timed cardio, dynamic movements, and ramp-up sets calculated directly from your first working weight. Rest timers kick in automatically between sets. Ten minutes of guided mobility wraps up the day.

You can tweak or turn off any of this, but the defaults are designed to give you a complete, balanced program.

TRACKS LIKE REAL LIFE
Not every exercise fits perfectly into a generic "reps and weight" counter. Tap to log your squats. Run the built-in stopwatch for dead hangs and let it save your PR. Use the countdown for planks. Every exercise is tracked exactly the way you actually do it.

LEAVE YOUR PHONE IN YOUR POCKET
The Apple Watch app mirrors your session in real time. Log sets, skip rests, and adjust the weight on the bar right from your wrist. Your phone and watch stay perfectly synced, and everything gets sent straight to Apple Health, complete with your heart rate and active calories.

YOURS, PRIVATELY
No account. No sign-up. Nothing is uploaded to a server that reads your training. Your history is stored on your device, full stop, and you can export the whole of it as a file at any time, subscribed or not.

Start by entering the weights you lift today, or start everything at zero and let the progression build. Either way, the next session is always ready.

SUBSCRIPTION
Compound Standard unlocks the whole app and comes in two terms, monthly and annual, both opening with a 14-day free trial. Prices are shown in your own currency on the subscription screen inside the app before anything is charged. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. It renews automatically unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and can be managed or cancelled any time in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-25

A new walkthrough. Climb a rep ladder, hold the real dial, pick your units, and you're in.

Run your whole workout from the Lock Screen. Warm-up to finish — log sets, start clocks, skip timers, without unlocking. And it's much faster to respond.

Share a session. A card with your day, volume and set counts. On the summary, or swipe any past session in the Log.

Settings screen has been completely rebuilt to be easier to navigate.

Quick settings menu added to session page for easy access.

Newly redesigned sounds for major interations.

Tap the rest clock to jump back to the lift it belongs to.

A redesigned widget. Your consistency dial, right on the Home Screen.

FIXED

Four mobility stretches stalled on a stopped timer between sets. They now auto-continue.

Finishing with nothing logged now ends the session properly.

REST ALERTS and APPLE HEALTH now answer a tap anywhere on the switch.

Progress read its start date in your phone's time zone instead of the one you trained in, and switching units drew a trend that wasn't there.

On the watch, a long exercise name no longer pushes the timer's header off the screen.

On the Lock Screen, a set circle you can't fill yet draws dim.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-14

FIXED

A new install could open onto the returning-subscriber screen instead of the free trial.

Logging a set from the watch or the Lock Screen now moves the session on straight away, instead of leaving the finished lift up for the whole rest.

The watch's rest clock no longer sticks at 0:00 with your wrist down.

Finishing a stretch from your wrist no longer starts the change-over countdown on the next one.

Back Extension reads as bodyweight, not as a weight you forgot to set.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-07

THE WATCH APP, REBUILT

Built from the ground up to provide a much smoother interface for watch-heavy users. Turn the Digital Crown to move through the whole session list in whatever order you want. Swipe left for a context menu to end the session, skip a warmup, or swap an exercise. Swipe right for native media controls.

SETTING REPS, RETHOUGHT

Hold a set circle to open the dial, slide it (or turn the crown) to the count you want, then tap to log it.

PROGRESSION READS WHAT YOU DID

Weight progression now respects manual rep entry, so if you logged max reps for each set, the next session's weight will increase.

FIXED

A rest no longer takes the name of an exercise you swapped to mid-countdown. The rest-length setting stays readable when rest timers are off. The working weights editor keeps the field you're typing in above the keyboard. The lift page's small buttons are easier to hit. VoiceOver reads the settings sections and the progression speed slider.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-04
