No explanation just an error message ? Tried deleting the App and reinstalling. …. New error message Log in non-2xx response: 405 method not allowed Now fixed … let’s hope it stays that way. ### 3/5 — Great Magazine but App not so goood *2024-06-18, version 4.3* I have read this magazine for years and it is excellent. However the App does not show full page on my iPad mini. The top of each page is hidden by the bar at the top. It is OK on my iPhone. ### 4/5 — Good app but lacks a very basic feature *2023-06-28, version 4.2* I’ve used this app and the Web User app for a while and it’s a very good app but it does lack a very basic feature. In the articles, it gives links to read further into things, but the links aren’t clickable so you have to go and type the address into a browser yourself. It would be much better if they were hyperlinked so you can view the content without leaving the app. Otherwise, a five star app! ### 4/5 — Great magazine if you can get the app to work. *2023-02-08, version 4.2* Once again the app seems to be frozen, can I get it to open so I can read the Google article. No way the little wheel just keeps going round, now for over 20 minutes. Unfortunately, although there are MANY links in the magazine to other sites, you cannot click on them to go direct to the article. Nor can you copy the link. Thank you for continuing to produce the magazine each fortnight during what must have been a very trying time to say the least. Please keep up the good work. I look forward to receiving every issue. ### 5/5 — Superb App for reading Computer Active on iPad *2020-07-30, version 4.1* Because of the CV-19 Pandemic, Dennis Publishing have allowed print subscribers to download the magazines due to concerns about getting print editions delivered. This app is brillInt in allowing us to read the magazine without fear of it not being delivered on time. ### 5/5 — Does what you’d expect *2020-07-07, version 4.1* Excellent magazine ### 2/5 — Dropping out on iPad! *2020-05-25, version 4.1* Not a bad app, and works fine on my iPhone. However when I try to view the magazines on the iPad version it’s constantly dropping out back to the home screen. The time taken to drop out can vary from a few seconds to around 15-20 seconds, and it’s getting very frustrating. I emailed the publishers some time weeks ago, and have had no reply at all, making me wonder whether I’m the only one experiencing this or just that the publishers cant be bothered as long the money keeps coming in. ### 3/5 — Lateness a problem. *2019-02-27, version 4.0* If you want to read the mag on time then buy the printed version. The digital version may arrive in the afternoon or even next day. Sometimes I get an email saying it is here but when I look it is not there to download. When it arrives it is a good app and I would recommend it. There is no direct way to print pages except by screen shot. ### 2/5 — Not a good update for the current version of the app. *2018-10-21, version 4.0* This new version of the app as removed access to several years of magazines on my iPad, not only that I can only go back a few months when trying to redownload previous issues. I’ve tried restarting the device and reinstalling the app, but the issue persists. Please look into this as soon as possible, as it’s frustrating not being able to read the magazines. With my 12.9 inch iPad I can’t view 2 pages at a time in landscape only 1 page in portrait. Very buggy as I can see the whole page (bottom chopped off) unless I scroll upwards. Has frozen a couple of times. Needs another update. Bring back the old version! PS sorry I’m going to let my subscription expire and not renew, now too buggy and difficult to read! ### 1/5 — What a heap of junk *2018-05-22, version 3.6.1* I bought a dual subscription today, digital for my iPad and hard copy for the mag. The mag hasn’t arrived but the digital has. Apart from the written instructions for activation being incorrect (I figured it out myself eventually) it really wasn’t worth either the effort or the money. The pages slip and slide around the screen. The navbar at the bottom appears and disappears apparently at random. I cannot get any further than page 53. The text cannot be selected and copied. The table of contents isn’t hyperlinked. The web hyperlinks on the product reviews take you to a random retailer who seems to be more expensive than simple google shopping results. Is there a commission for Dennis from these links? Hooray it’s sorted. *2025-01-22, version 4.5* I used to buy paper copies of this mag and occasionally download copies from the app. I then decided to take out a digital subscription as it saved storing paper copies. Everything has been fine until the last few days when suddenly I cannot gain access to my digital mags. I am still a subscriber to computer active so can you please sort this out otherwise I will have to cancel. Well hats off to computer active, within 24 hrs of my original review, and an email to them, I am happy to say my magazines are back for my viewing. That’s great customer service. It is a fabulous source of info big and small and over the years I have gleaned lots of tips, info and help. As with any magazine, not every article or snippet is for everyone but there is sufficient in there to hold the interest for most users, even the medium techo that I am. Keep it up, thank you. I advise any tech user to try it for a few months and I am sure most of you will want it regularly. ### 5/5 — My favourite mag *2022-04-01, version 4.2* This app runs perfect. I used to buy Computeractive off the stand years ago and had subscriptions but this app with brilliant subscription account is the best. It has developed into a great interactive magazine. If you want to know how to get the best performance from your digital kit this mag is for you. ### 5/5 — Why can’t I access issue 627? *2022-03-21, version 4.1* I have a live subscription. Suddenly I can’t access the latest edition and like a previous reviewer have deleted the app and reinstalled it but keep getting an error code. I have tried contacting Future Publishing who don’t want to know. What is the problem? There is obviously a bug in the system but I can’t understand why as there has been no recent update of the app. This needs to be sorted or I shall be cancelling my next subscription which is due in May and making a complaint over a refund. Somebody must know what’s happening and who is responsible!! ### 5/5 — Why the delay? *2021-11-05, version 4.1* Presumably the printed version is a printout of the digital version. Therefore it is logical to presume that the digital version is ‘ready to go’ long before the printed version falls through the letter box. That being so, my digital version often arrives after the publication date: and at the time of writing this review it is already three days late. Can anyone tell me why it’s often late? Surely you simply upload it to the App? I’m not expecting a reply …. but it’d be nice to get one, after all, I’ve been paying towards staff salaries since issue #1. Michael Crane …. felling a bit miffed. ### 5/5 — Digital edition for iPad *2021-01-24, version 4.1* Due to expected delivery problems subscribers were offered the digital formation tried this and was very impressed with the reading experience. I am particularly impressed with the scrapbook feature where yo can save articles of interest.
