## What is Concord Civic Compass?

See where you stand.

Concord is the nonpartisan civic app for people who care about policy more than party. It turns civic noise into four useful answers:

• NEWS: What is happening? Explore a balanced, AI-powered feed that groups the same story across perspectives, shows when coverage is one-sided, and lets you answer questions about the issues behind it.

• COMPASS: Where do I stand? Get a clear breakdown of your views across sixteen policy dimensions without being reduced to a party label.

• BALLOT: What is on my ballot? See your state's ballot measures in their official language, and compare your Compass with candidates where cited votes, sponsorships, statements, and public records exist. When evidence is limited, Concord says so.

• BILLS: What is Congress doing? Track official bill status, read plain-language summaries from the Congressional Research Service, weigh in on neutral AI-drafted discussion statements, and contact your representatives.

No account. No ads. No tracking. Your answer history stays on your device. Shared answers leave it only as anonymous counts that carry nothing identifying you, and sharing can be turned off in Account. Concord takes no money from parties or campaigns.

### 5/5 — Finally a way to organize my beliefs

*2026-09-07*

Whenever I want to “talk politics”, especially with family that doesn’t agree, I always struggle to give examples of what I mean. I am not all on one side of the political spectrum and it’s great to see that in a visual way. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Finally, a political app that helps us understand each other

*2026-09-05*

I’ve really been enjoying this app! One of my favorite things about it is that it gives me a new perspective when talking about politics with my dad. We don’t always see things the same way, but Concord helps us find the areas where we actually agree and better understand where the other person is coming from. It makes political conversations feel a lot more productive and a lot less divisive.

I also love being able to track and follow bills that I’m passionate about. It’s nice to have an easy way to stay informed about what’s actually happening with issues I care about, rather than just relying on headlines or social media.

If you want to be more informed, understand your own views better, and have better conversations with people who may see things differently, this app is definitely worth checking out.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-12

This update fixes the bill results page: after you weigh in, "Where you stand" now always states the stance you just took.

A bill that has already become law, been vetoed or failed keeps its weigh-in and no longer asks you to contact your representatives about it.

Following a bill or candidate confirms itself the moment you tap.

The contribution link is gone. Side Yard Studio builds and pays for Concord.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-06

Statewide ballot measures

Where your state has published them, your ballot now lists its statewide measures with the official ballot language and a link to the state's own page. Weigh in with Yes, Not sure yet or No, and see where others stand once enough people have. A state with none says so.

Results

Every result leads with your own answer. How others answered arrives once enough people have weighed in, and nothing is drawn over an empty result.

Bills and candidates

A vetoed bill's timeline now stops where the bill stopped, not like a bill that became law. You can weigh in on a bill, and one filter button replaces the two rows above the feed, with every topic visible. A candidate's page is laid out like the news, and one with no public record says so.

Your own ballot, in one place

Once you have weighed in on a measure, its button says how you would vote, and a short sheet at the top of your measures lists every one with your answer beside it, for the moment you are actually voting.

Questions

Opening an issue picks up where you left off, the counter shows your real place in it, and Back steps to the previous question instead of leaving. News briefs are shorter: at most two points a side, not three.
