### 2/5 — Pre update was better

*2020-10-21*

Love the magazine but I read it from an IPad Pro and the is no way to read in landscape view. Very annoying! This is a standard iPad function that needs to be added in. There are articles with small print that are nearly impossible to read without the zoom feature. The old saying “that if it’s not broken don’t fix it” certainly applies.

### 2/5 — Could Be Better

*2020-09-14*

My number one issue with this app is that the picture doesn’t rotate! It extremely annoying considering that’s a standard feature for iPad apps. As a result, whenever using the app I have to detach from the keyboard to read it. It also needs a zoom feature to assist with reading considering the font size is small.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2019-01-24*

While Condé Nast Traveler certainly has a fantastic product in its content, its app is lackluster. Firstly, it has not been updated for the iPad Pro, meaning that the magazine is not displayed on the entire screen, but rather in the middle with black bars around the edges. Secondly, this app does not have functionality that is all but required. The app is effectively a PDF scan of each page of the magazine, instead of being a truly interactive experience.

It would be great if Condé Nast could look at some of their competitors with great applications and take a hint from them to make the app as great as their magazine!

### 1/5 — Its just pdfs of the magazine pages

*2016-09-24*

Terrible app, you can't select or search text, the articles aren't contained in a single section (and there's no table of contents ). The pages are clipped top and bottom by the margins and the layout and text size require you to keep zooming to read it, you can't set the text size.

It is honestly easier to just read the print version

This is an embarrassing product when you compare it with the new yorker app also owned by conde nast

### 1/5 — completely stuck

*2016-07-29, version 4.6.7*

Unable to reset my password (says cannot connect even though I'm clearly connected). Nowhere to get support; link just dumps you into the website which has nothing. Aw well, guess I'll dump it.

### 3/5 — 구매목록 삭제 부탁드려요~~

*2015-11-23*

구매목록 삭제 부탁드려요~~

### 1/5 — VERY FRUSTRATED TODAY

*2014-11-09, version 4.5.1*

I have a subscription that is active. but the last available edition of my magazine on my ipad is September 2014. When I try to login to send a comment to the magazine, it won't let me login.

Where are my October and November editions??!!

### 1/5 — Lousy App

*2014-05-20, version 4.2*

I can't even log into the app. What good is it doing me?!

### 1/5 — Epic fail....

*2014-03-22, version 4.2*

It won't even launch after initial install. Wat up w dat devy?

### 1/5 — Why can't they stop bugging you?

*2014-03-08, version 4.2*

Like other Condé Nast publications, this app will continue alerting you to new issues even after turning off notifications. (This crappy behavior shows up in other Condé Nast publications.) For the occasional reader who doesn't want to be pestered, delete this app and buy a copy at the newsstand.

### 3/5 — I expected more from CNT

*2014-02-13, version 4.2*

Been a magazine subscriber since inception. Very difficult to download digital edition.

### 1/5 — CN Traveler

*2013-11-30, version 4.0*

Horrible navigation. Going from one page to another up, down, sideways. A mess.
Nothing like some digital publications, that enhance the reading experience by not trying to blast me with things that I don't want or need.

### 1/5 — Horrid

*2013-11-23, version 4.0*

Worst app ever. We're hard copy subscribers and every update is a nightmare to up load. I give up

### 1/5 — Hate this app!

*2013-08-25*

Impossible to get your magazine online because it is impossible to sign in. I have reset the password, tried to sign in and still get messages that the authentication failed. I give up! Both on the app and when my subscription expires, I give up on that as well. Too much wasted time with this terrible software. The magazine is not worth it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — highly disappointing, a complete failure and the worst customer care ever

*2023-09-28*

I subscribed last August, jointly with Vanity Fair.
I never had access and still do not have access to the digital edition. I have done everything (link account subscription, delete and download several times the app) but nothing happened.

I wrote email 10 times to the Customer Care and they never replied.
I called 3 times the Customer Care number but they could not care less. They were vague and told me they would call me back … but nothing happened.

I am going to cancel both the subscriptions.

### 1/5 — Average

*2022-12-01, version 5.2*

Completely average. Sold as a digital subscription but only on iPad and zero functionality like bookmarks.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2021-06-26*

So hard to navigate in your e version. How such a prestigious magazine can be so archaic when it is to search. Please as we will start travelling again…improve!

### 1/5 — Not designed for iPad

*2021-05-03, version 5.2*

So sick of apps only being designed for iPhones or vertical mode on an iPad. By now, all apps should offer horizontal view on the iPad.

### 1/5 — Missed opportunity

*2020-09-16, version 5.2*

Low res - read this mag on a 12.9 inch iPad Pro and you’ll be disappointed by the low resolution.

If you try to pinch zoom, the text quickly shows aliasing.

Why not deliver a higher res version?

Second problem: you can’t tap on a page number to get there.

Open the mag, see a feature on p. 72, tap, go. Impossible. You need to swipe down to see the list of pages and manually select page 72.

Seems like a missed opportunity.

Same with photos. Give us higher res!

### 1/5 — Cheap infomercials, no reporting

*2020-09-06, version 5.2*

Very low quality of content in a bad app, where you can’t even see previous issues.
European versions are much better (UK)

### 1/5 — What a sham!!

*2019-12-20, version 5.2*

Most nonfunctional app I have ever encountered!

### 1/5 — Zoom in feature ???

*2019-11-17, version 5.0*

I can’t read the articles because of the small font size, how is this not an option?

### 1/5 — used to work fine, but new update is bad!

*2019-10-27, version 5.0*

small print means it’s important to be able to enlarge each page, but the new update doesn’t allow it! i no longer use the digital version and will not renew my subscription.

### 1/5 — Love the concept, can’t read it though

*2019-10-01, version 5.0*

Because there does not seem to be a way to increase the horribly small font size, this wonderful truth in travel magazine is pretty much inaccessible to anyone over forty. Cancelled subscription same day. Sorry, Conde Nast Traveler!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A Great Fox for Coronavirus Blues

*2020-05-16, version 5.2*

Love your magazine in iPad format.
Someday we will all travel safely again.
Best

### 5/5 — Everything sync’s perfectly!

*2019-03-06*

Awaiting my first print issue and their intro e-mail was well laid out as to getting me on-line and reading digitally immediately. Also like the daily e-mails on what I assume are short articles that didn’t make the magazine. Don’t confuse with the other app. This is the US version. The other is UK.

### 5/5 — The truest travel magazine, guide and inspiration

*2014-10-28, version 4.5.1*

The online magazine is suburb, complimenting the print edition. It's easy to navigate and in stunning resolution.

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2013-11-11*

Planning on traveling the globe next year and this magazine is wonderful in helping me plan my trips! App works wonderfully for me and I've had no problems as of yet. I browse on my way to work.

### 5/5 — Good

*2013-09-19, version 4.0*

For rich ppl

### 5/5 — Should get a zero

*2013-02-09*

I am a subscriber to the magazine. I am supposed to have free access to the digital copy. After downloading the app and registering, I found the only part of the app that worked was the "buy a subscription" or "buy an issue". Therefore, there is no free access to anything. The "tech support" is by email question only. I am using an iPad 2 and I have the most recent software. T
Don't buy the paper subscription with any expectation of getting the digital version free.

### 5/5 — download 1time, read multiple

*2012-11-04*

Yes, it takes a while to download each month's copy, but you download it once and can flip through it whenever you want without any waiting again. Interactive pages and articles are set up very well. Love it! Just be patient with initial download.

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2012-01-20*

I was a bit reluctant to install based on all the bad reviews but I have to say this is the best magazine app I've used yet. Much better than T+L IMHO. It's so incredibly content rich - each article has expanded views of its gorgeous photography and other content not available in the magazine itself, and it's all built INTO the app as opposed to linking to their website in Safari. The navigation is also really cool with the sliding bar at the bottom of the screen. Pop up windows, short films, the list goes on. VERY COOL.

Only downside, and this seems to be a problem with most magazine downloads, is that you have to sit on the download page for the download to happen - it won't download in background while using other apps. And CN Traveler's download size is HUGE compared to other mags - the latest issue was almost 700MB! I assume this is because of the content richness I mentioned earlier. WELL worth it in any event. HIGHEST praise to CN Traveler!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2011-11-28*

The app downloaded and installed perfectly. As a subscriber, i downloaded the Dec '11 issue with no issues. Maybe some people have no patience. I let it do its thing and it works great.

### 4/5 — Great magazine app

*2013-09-17, version 4.0*

Nice compliment to the magazine!
