### 4/5 — Great, but bugging me

*2018-05-11, version 4.2*

I love this app! So helpful in practicing and building confidence. It would be nice to have a mode where you practice words you’ve missed more frequently.

There’s a bug with the « vous » form of the imparfait with reflexive verbs, where it does not recognize the reflexive pronoun « vous ». For example, « se promener » , if I write « vous promeniez » it says my answer is wrong and shows it in the history as just « promeniez ». This is different from how it handles reflexive verbs in the imparfait for all other persons.

### 4/5 — Great app for learning conjugations!

*2016-05-08, version 3.2*

It is my favourite of all apps for learning conjugations. I like the interactivity, the versatility, the immediate feed-back and the availability of grammar rules. For me, the one thing that's missing for a five star rating is the audio.

### 4/5 — Good conjugation practice tool

*2016-04-07, version 3.2*

This app works well and is definitely helping me to improve my verb conjugation. You still have to put the effort in, of course, but it's a good way of practising while on the train, for example.

### 4/5 — Very useful study tool

*2015-04-07, version 3.2*

This app is great for practicing conjugations and preparing for exams. Would give a 5th star if I could make a custom study list based on my past mistakes.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2014-06-25, version 3.2*

Useful tool to drill. Like being able to choose which tenses to drill and other basic features

### 5/5 — Awesomeness

*2014-02-20, version 3.2*

Love it. You can filter by verb tense or by verb stem. Incredibly helpful.

### 5/5 — Excellent Application

*2013-12-01, version 3.2*

It's an excellent application to review French verbs. Even just a few minutes a day made a huge difference for me.

### 5/5 — iPod Touch 5.1.1

*2013-09-18, version 3.2*

I cannot begin to explain how perfect a study aid this app is.

Below is a comment I made months ago, but a couple days ago I found that I could restore the older version of the app by toggling it on in iTunes (could not be accomplished the numerous times over the past few months I tried from my iPod); plus now the warning badge is gone.

I am so glad to have it back.

----

Upgrade to 3.2 will not load on my iPod Touch with iOS 5.1.1, and iOS 6.0 is not available for iPod. I deleted the app in hopes of re-installing and getting rid of the update warning badge from the iTunes app store.

Unfortunately Conjugation Nation will not re-install.

I am going to miss this app.

### 5/5 — Best App

*2013-09-05, version 3.2*

Great app for memorizing the conjugations.

### 4/5 — Would rate it a 5 but...

*2013-06-20, version 3.2*

Overall it's a really good app that I spend a lot of time with and it's yielding results.

The missing star is only for some minor things that I feel would enhance it. The first is that the correct conjugation that appears when you get one wrong is a touch small. The option to change font size for each block of text would be good.

The second is that I would love to see the conjugated English verb come up as well.

Overall, having said all that, I thoroughly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Worth it.

*2013-04-26, version 3.2*

Very helpful, great app.

### 5/5 — My favourite French language app

*2013-04-07, version 3.2*

Very useful, educational app.

### 5/5 — Enormous Help

*2013-04-03, version 3.2*

This has really helped me learn irregular conjugations.

### 5/5 — Very good app for practicing the conjugation of French verbs

*2013-02-24, version 3.2*

This is the most complete and flexible app for practicing the conjugation of French verbs that I have found. It is well designed and and easy to use. It could be improved by allowing the user to more specifically choose to practice regular vs irregular verbs, but this is a minor issue, given the excellence of the app in most other respects.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — needs more verbs

*2025-12-20, version 4.3*

Could you please add asseoir ?

### 2/5 — Eh

*2015-10-25, version 3.2*

No problems, just really not worth the money.

### 2/5 — Not what I was looking for...

*2009-09-23, version 0*

I needed a verb conjugation reference and really wish this app would allow you to view the verb tenses in a list format for those not ready to take the quiz.

### 3/5 — Good app but has some flaws

*2021-07-13, version 4.3*

Very useful for practicing conjugation but as others have said there are lots of bugs in the answers where correct answers will be marked as wrong. I also wish there were more verbs, especially irregular verbs. What really frustrates me is that the keyboard resets to French after each question. I have to reset to my preferred keyboard 50 times for a 50 question quiz - this is annoying and time consuming.

### 3/5 — needs more verbs

*2017-03-31*

Could you please add more common verbs like:
étudier, réussir?

### 3/5 — Fairly good, but....

*2016-02-16, version 3.2*

Plenty of others have commented on this app's flexibility to choose tenses, pronouns and quiz length. This is good. However, the app does not pronounce the correct conjugation so we're none the wiser about how things should sound. Worse, it marks "Je aime" correct instead of suggesting "j'aime"????

### 3/5 — Okay but Glitchy

*2012-01-15, version 3.0*

This is an okay app, not a great one. It lets you customize tenses so you can pace yourself, as well as customize the display time for the answers.

That said, it has a lot of glitches. Sometimes it will tell you an identical answer is incorrect. I slowed the answer time down so that I could verify it wasn't just a typo or missed accent on my end. It definitely was a problem on their end. On a 50 question quiz, I counted 5 instances where right answers were calculated as incorrect and then when I was given the right answer, it was exactly what I had entered. Also, sometimes it gives the wrong pronoun, then when you enter your answer it marks it wrong, and provides another pronoun of near equivalent meaning--except that you can't change the pronoun in your answers, it's set by the app. It looks like whoever entered the verb put the wrong pronoun in on the question but right one on the answer, so it's detecting a mismatch and marking it wrong.

Also, while you can turn off the grade, you can't turn off the score. Since the app makes the aforementioned errors in scoring, the score is relatively meaningless. I find myself having to keep track of the app's errors then adjusting my final score accordingly to more accurately determine how I did. It would be nice if I could turn it off so that I could just focus on my strengths and weaknesses.

### 3/5 — Rudimentary

*2010-11-21, version 0*

The GUI is what I dislike the most. Very aesthetically unappealing. There is no landscape support. The option to turn off autocorrect does not work because when I am typing out the conjugations the iPhone tries to correct them into English. Other than these, it gets the job done, though you won't have very much fun doing it.

### 3/5 — Could be fun...

*2009-09-17, version 0*

But for those who want to use this as a learning tool the correct answer disappears so fast that you hardly get any opportunity to learn from your mistakes. And what's with the tiny print? You've got a huge screen to work with. I don't want to bring out a magnifying glass just to read some of these words!

Hope to see a bit more improvements so that I can increase my star count on this one. LB

### 4/5 — Great, but a couple of flaws

*2019-02-08, version 4.3*

This app is really helpful for zipping through conjugations. One bug: the reflexive verbs that involve t’es or s’est often get marked wrong when they’re correct.

My two points of feedback/suggestions: I wish the conjugations I get wrong would be added to the end of the deck, so that I could practice them once more.

Also, I’d love to be able to practice basic negation (ne...pas) with each of the tenses.

Otherwise, it’s great and saves me tons of time!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very polished.

*2019-01-11, version 4.3*

Fantastic app!
Some knowledge of verb conjugations is advantageous, though not essential.
Extremely fun to use.

### 5/5 — It's a big help.

*2017-02-19, version 3.3*

Very configurable. Big help. I would only change it to disallow empty answers for, say, a tenth of a second so a shaky finger touching the submit button twice instead of once doesn't cause a wrong answer. Most people won't have that problem.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-10-28, version 3.3*

Really helps you learn the conjugations.

### 5/5 — Excellent app for learning conjugation

*2016-07-10, version 3.2*

Really good drilling tool for learning verb conjugation, would definitely purchase additional verb lists if available.

### 5/5 — Amazing App!!!

*2016-06-08, version 3.2*

Please!!, Please!!, increase the amount of verbs, I would totally pay for it!!, and I believe many of us will.

This application is the best to practice your conjugation for french verbs. It is amazingly easy to use. I just LOVE it!.

### 5/5 — Personal review

*2016-03-10, version 3.2*

This app. helps me in the difficult process of learning and remembering the French verbs conjugations. I found it easy to master and it is efficient in it's operation. I would add the capability of extending the scope by facilitating adding additional verbs.

### 5/5 — Best way to learn conjugations

*2015-06-07, version 3.2*

My son showed me this great app. It's really speeding up my ability to learn the verbs and their conjugations.

### 5/5 — TOPS!!

*2015-03-18, version 3.2*

Hands down one of the best French learning apps. It's simple, clear, and glitch-free!

### 5/5 — Conjugation Nation

*2014-11-10, version 3.2*

This is a fabulous app for practising verb conjugation. It allows you to pick how many you'll do each time and let's you concentrate on as many or few tenses as you like. It gives corrections as you go and you can revise these at the end. It's really helping me a lot.

### 5/5 — Amazing - best app for french students

*2014-06-26, version 3.2*

I've wanted a way to help drill me on french conjugations for ages and this is just perfect. Can't think of a single thing I'd improve.
