I would give it 5 stars, but it needs the original function of the user being able to select the Spanish or English as the front screen and vice versa when desired. Also the Spanish infinitive needs to be put back on the Spanish conjugated version of the verb. ### 4/5 — Love this app but now it crashes *2020-07-04, version 3.0.2* After the last update the app crashes if you try to do anything at all. Here are the only changes I would make: I wish there were some way to know when you've seen all the cards in the deck you're working on. I don't mind that they repeat - that's actually good. But I do wish I could know when I've been through the whole deck. I also wish there were a way to flag ones you want to focus on and the ones you don't need to see again right now. Just some thoughts...but if you need to drill verbs, this app will help you do that. The layout is excellent, it’s very conducive to practicing and learning. It includes English translations to properly understand the tenses as you conjugate, it has an abridged verbs list (perfect for beginners) that can be expanded as much as you want up to many thousands of verbs and so much more. It may not have “every” spanish verb but it is not intended to function as a translator. It is a conjugator and it does the job very well. Flash cards are great but I would happily pay between £3-5 for this app if the flash card pronounced the words too correctly or gave the option and would be great to perhaps be able to tap any version of a root verb in lists and hear it pronounced. Its translations with the conjugations makes it easier to use. Its flashcard function is elementary but useful. Its unique difference is that it gives not only all the conjugations but it shows the direct translation to English for each one. I find this much easier to work with as I'm not forever trying to figure out for example 'uh....what does Perfect Subjunctive mean again?'. If you are not very well versed in English grammar to start with, this will suit you too. And if you look up any conjugated verb form it will fully translate that conjugation instead of just throwing you back to the infinitive so you have to work it out for yourself. This is soooo helpful. Also the app has heaps of flexibility with flash cards etc. I use it all the time and highly recommend it. ### 5/5 — Great App *2017-01-14, version 2.2* Very helpful in learning Spanish. Very useful, Saves time, well organized ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — The more I use it, the more I hate it *2016-12-01, version 2.2* I originally wrote a review and gave it three stars. You can see it below. The more I use it, however, the more I see flaws. For example, look up, "tomar". That means "to take" or "drink", but it only mentions drink. Next, look up the imperfect subjunctive of that word. That generally refers to events that happened in the past, but this app refers to it in the present tense. And since my last writing, the database doesn't appear to have been updated, again not even containing 2,000 words. That's great for the first month of learning a language. But even for trading purposes, one needs to know at least 3,000 of the most common words. Why on earth this app doesn't have more words and doesn't at least provide a way for users to do so is beyond me. ====================== This app is great. It's the first one I've seen that actually tells me what the future indicative actually means by putting a little "I will fall" for root verb "caer". It's great. So what's the issue? It only has a few words in it's database (I believe about 1,600). Needless to say, this is not nearly enough and when you put a root word in (I tried "rodar") and nothing gets returned, you're forced to look it up someplace else, like before I had the app. Also, if there are no results it's should say, "no results". Hopefully the developer will allow users to add words to make this app better. ### 1/5 — Not great *2016-07-06, version 2.2* My Spanish teacher advised me to buy this app so that I would be able to keep track of the many tenses that I had learned. This app did not help me much with the task at hand. It's not very intuitive, and it did not expand my knowledge. A better interface would make this app more worth the money. As others said, can't search for verbs. Goodbye .99. ### 1/5 — stopped working since update *2014-09-23, version 2.1.2* Like many other users, since the recent update it stopped working. I loved this app. You could type in a verb in any tense and it will come up. You don’t have to know the infinitive form to find it. When you opened that verb and reviewed all the different tenses, it showed you the verb in infinitive form at the top. After the update, that disappeared. Then it started taking FOREVER to load the search results. Now it doesn’t work at all. Nothing happens when you search. Unless you go to your favorites or recently view verbs, this app does nothing. Hopefully this fix it soon :/ I also tried restarting my phone, I deleted and re-downloaded the app. I even tried deleting it off my laptop, all devices and then downloading it again and still nothing worked. It does not like iOS8 at all!! Please fix it!! ### 1/5 — Search bar not clear *2014-03-12, version 2.0* Since the upgrade the search bar is black!! It is very difficult to see what verb you have typed in to search for. Sadly, when it was updated they really did a face plant. Now, in my opinion, it’s pretty much worthless. I always want to view flashcards English first, so I can translate to Spanish and use the word in a sentence. The previous version allowed one to see either English or Spanish first, along with the parameters for the conjugation, e.g. “you, singular, familiar; Mood, subjunctive; Tense, present”. That seems not to exist anymore in the app. Now, that info is only on the Spanish side of the flashcard, which makes them useless for me. I guess it’s time to delete it and move on. ### 2/5 — Great app - but mistakes ! *2015-05-24, version 2.2* The app itself is great Unfortunately I found out a couple mistakes and now I don't trust the app anymore So anytime I'm surprised by a conjugation I go check and lose time ( and fortunately almost always the app is right ) For this kind of app I think that having the conjugation right at 100% is non negociable hence the poor rating ### 2/5 — Poor (=nonexistent) customer service *2014-07-03, version 2.0* This is a very promising app with a few glitches that could easily be fixed if there was any response to customer feedback -- which there isn't. I wrote feedback three times, including my email address, and never received a response. Like a recent reviewer, I am having problems with using infinitives in flashcards -- though unlike him I can't get this to happen except for the one time I did it by accident. No problem with conjugations in flashcards, but it would be useful to know how to quiz oneself on the meaning of verb infinitives through flashcards.
