Clearly developed on a shoestring budget by people who had no business calling themselves developers. If they were aiming for barely functional frustration machine, then congratulations, gold star. After the latest update, it logged me out and forgot my password. Classic. Tried to reset it, no email. Tried again, still nothing. So I gave up and tried to register again, only to find the keyboard covers half the registration screen. Brilliant design choice, who needs to see what they are typing anyway. Now I am stuck waiting for a text message to verify my account. Will it ever arrive. Who knows. Maybe it is coming by carrier pigeon. I hate this app, I hate that I am forced to use it, and I hate that someone somewhere signed this off and thought, yes, this is ready for the public. It is 2025, how is this still a thing. ### 3/5 — Clunky *2025-05-20, version 8.8.6* Why another parking App. Clunky registration process. Asks for everything twice. Doesn’t seem to work with password managers. Inconveniently asked me to register a card which wasn’t straightforward, requiring a test purchase. I was then asked if I wanted to use Apple Pay. All this while my train was getting ever nearer the station. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2025-01-18, version 8.8.4* The app wouldn’t let me add a payment method I was stuck then with potential £100 fine ### 1/5 — Can’t pay on the app *2025-01-17* Every time I try and pay for parking with a debit card, the app will not work and notes ‘payment failed’. I tried to pay through the app and had to do this online instead. This ended up delaying payment from the time of entering the car park resulting in a fine despite booking a parking time a lot far beyond my stay. Had to enter debit card details and then I could use Apple Pay anyway! You disallow copy and paste from a password manager meaning you WANT people to have easily memorable and short passwords. Bad idea, really bad. Then you show a HUGE screen after screen of terms and conditions in 0.1 font. So no one can read them? Finally I *assume* you want me to select the radio button as ‘Register’ is greyed out until I do? And when I do I get a developer error code of ‘Response from SOAP client was not ok (not a 2xx). Can I suggest an alternate career path as I don’t think App Dev is for you. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2024-11-02, version 8.7.6* Doesn’t support Apple Pay and doesn’t support adding a card. Not sure how you are meant to pay for parking. Waste of time app. Allows you to meter card details then deletes them. Just accept Apple Pay. So much easier. ### 1/5 — Appalling *2024-10-22, version 8.7.6* Worked brilliantly for years and then just wouldn’t work, and no, it wasn’t to do with an update. Password supposedly wrong but couldn’t reset. Tried reregistering and when it sent me a 4 digit code I inputted it but there was no button to confirm it so couldn’t finish the process. Fortunately there’s another, RingGo, car park at my train station because I won’t be using Connect again. ### 1/5 — Another app! And it won’t send a text to verify *2024-10-21, version 8.7.6* My local train station now uses this app. I have downloaded it and registered but the text message took 10 minutes to arrive by which time 3 came. It then would not allow Apple Pay (it’s 2024) and I don’t carry cards anymore. Got someone to read me my card number which I entered only to be returned to the add card screen. This happened 3 times so I can’t pay for my car park as now on train. I did originally tried the machine by the car park but it didn’t allow you to enter a length of stay and just printed a ticket with start time. Totally useless. Did not accept my payments through the app despite trying to attempt throughout my day. Received a fine. Was told I needed to call the number on the sign despite this being unavailable. Was fined £120 despite contacting app support on the day and reporting the error at the time. If you see this company runs the parking spot, park elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Not “Convenient” *2024-09-28, version 8.7.3* Taken me 30 mins to download the glitchy app, put in all my details, confirm, get codes to pay for £3.50 parking , connect have added more to the charge for “convenience “ which is what this app is absolutely lacking. It fails regularly and cannot handle simple requests. Helpline utterly useless and the text registration is antiquated why do you make this so difficult oh I know the £100 fine maybe. Have deleted and re-installed several times and still have the same problem. ### 1/5 — Old app *2025-05-31, version 8.8.6* This app feels like from 10 years ago. And it can’t even do basic things like use cards already in your Apple wallet. So you have to manually type a card out. So I just deleted the app and went to the pay machine as it’s quicker. Which makes the app pointless if it’s slower. ### 1/5 — Downhill *2025-05-24* Had this app for several years and after initial sign up (as others mentioned) the buying parking experience was ok. Not sure what has changed but last year I had to go through the setup up again the first time I’d used it in a while. Then again several months later. This year though every time I go to use it I get an error about account not found and have to sign up again and again. Wouldn’t be too bad but use same details with no account already created under those details etc… Most frustrating is that you have to put card details in again (even to pay via applepay) and to register your vehicle. Doesn’t sound too onerous but this all takes over 5 mins with validation checks, one time codes, card details etc.. Easy to set up and literally takes about 1m to book parking at my station. Has geographic location so it will find your nearest compatible but you will have to disconnect any vpn software you might be using as it interferes with it. It’s fast, functional and easy to use but still have some small glitches like if you own more than one vehicle. Switching vehicles whilst using the same location, can be a bit lumpy. If you don’t have that comfort, when you get to the Carpark, just use the App as normal. All receipts produced rapidly, so they can be printed off at leisure. There is one feature that I would like to see improved and that is when using the same booking duration before I seem unable to select a start date of my choosing.
