In my opinion They don’t care about you only your money. They have cheated us for the last time. Going to fair trading now. Having bought their heaters and equipment for years we are finally going elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Terrible Functionality *2023-01-06, version 1.5* Cannot believe a market leader of technical pool accessories can get this so wrong. The pool & system supplied by Leisure pools was without a control panel near the pool. The control panel was behind the garage with the pumps approx 30 Meters away. I complained that walking often in the dark navigating around the pool fence in a bush block was not workable for me…. Let alone my young children. The pool supplier didn’t even think to pre-run a control cable to bring the user panel close to the pool and spa. The comment was “You don’t need it. Just use the App”. To start- not everyone will bring their smartphone to the pool…. Guests will not have access to the app or passwords needed for connection…. Finally, you cannot rely on the app. It has very poor responsiveness (BTW-I have excellent Wi-Fi connection and the system is hardwired) In my view it has lots of bugs that make it extremely difficult to use…because it is not intuitive and you have to constantly check if the settings have set correctly… Did I mention the incredibly frustrating lag between setting and response? ### 1/5 — OLD AND SLOW *2023-01-05, version 1.5* When are you going to update this app? I don’t even get the history graphs on my devices. It’s slow, unresponsive and very unreliable. Wouldn’t recommend buying Astralpools if you want automation. Look elsewhere, wouldn’t be hard to better this product ### 1/5 — Pathetic *2022-12-31, version 1.5* Dumbest app I’ve ever seen Can’t even login to see what it does ### 1/5 — Very poor app *2022-11-25, version 1.5* This app is extremely non responsive. For instance the spa can be heated quite nicely but when returned to the “all auto” or heat off function it does not actually do it. It keeps heating… the worst part of this app is that although the pool and spa are on seperate controls if the spa is heated the app also takes it upon itself to heat the pool - even when you can see on the app that pool heat is off. ### 1/5 — Austral Pool Heater Connect Pool App *2022-04-18, version 1.5* The original app worked reasonably o well and then disappeared out of the App Store. This new version has no ability to reset a password, if you have forgotten and there is no way of checking online either. I have an expensive pool heater, paid extra for the wifi module and it doesn’t work. Would be grateful for a solution. ### 1/5 — Incredibly frustrating *2022-02-19, version 1.5* On behalf of all Connect10 users, we beg you, please please upgrade this ridiculous app. It is so incredibly unresponsive and slow. Surely in this day and age you could provide some updates to improve performance and overall user experience. No end of problems and no technicians know how to fix things and say they aren’t any electricians or aren’t a plumber or aren’t familiar with astral equipment or blame pool installers its just a continuing nightmare. It even started smoking and they came out changed one thing, the next time i went to use the astral heater it blew up and tripped the power. It’s just a nightmare don’t do it and don’t dare complain or they will say the issues are the users fault and keep changing reasons why they want service or replace things. Honestly you may as well chuck thousands in the air with this product. ### 1/5 — Very poor *2021-09-17, version 1.5* This is not an app, it’s more of a link to the website. You can’t even view the ph levels and it’s very slow to function. ### 1/5 — Significantly out of date *2021-06-05, version 1.5* Hasn’t been updated for two years, is laggy and doesn’t have as much functionality as would expect- can’t do schedules or timers. ### 1/5 — Good hardware worst app ever *2021-03-30, version 1.5* The hardware is good quality but the app is the worst I have ever seen. It looks like a 1990’s website, very slow, not very intuitive at all. Takes minutes from clicking to the device turning on and it’s not a problem on my connectivity! Very disappointed. They could at least release the API’s so the community could make a better app. It’s not that hard guys! Do better! ### 1/5 — Matt sparky. *2020-12-15, version 1.5* This product it horrible to install and the companies support is even worse. If there was a 0 star rating, they would be getting it. It’s not user friendly and the instructions are incredibly unclear. I tried to contact their support and none of the listed numbers are connected, I tried to speak to one of their representatives via chat support and there was no one online. I am a licensed electrician and deal with a lot of pools on high end builds. I will never recommend this product to a client. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Fine for an app Update and overhaul. *2025-11-29, version 1.5* This app is critical need of an update and overhaul. Its functionality compared to iAquaLink is embarrassing. Frustrating for a user. Spend a couple bucks and get an update on the app and its fix functionality and latency. Please. There is nothing but upside. ### 1/5 — Terrible app and system *2025-11-05, version 1.5* Terrible and laggy app and system, especially in 2025. Should not be sold in 2025 (especially for the price) when the system was clearly designed 15 years ago. ### 1/5 — Very basic *2025-01-15, version 1.5* Given that there hasn’t been an update in 5years, I don’t expect this app will get any better. As mentioned previously, the functionality is basic at best (you can’t adjust timers, see anything other than “ok/not ok” for the ORP or even see if the equipment is actually running 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️) and the app certainly looks like it was last updated for iOS 13. Since the only real thing you can do is turn on favorites, you are probably better off saving some $$ on the gateway and switching things on from the controller ### 1/5 — No point. *2024-09-29, version 1.5* Hasn’t been updated in 5 years. No useful features added - ever. Really limited functionality. You can turn it on, turn it off, or look at it. Thats about it. You can’t adjust the timers. You can’t set the chemical levels. To do anything meaningful x as in the above- you have to do it manually. I recently had a quote as I may have needed to replace the gateway. $2000 Australian dollars. Not worth the money to achieve, well, nothing really. ### 1/5 — Need to outsource the development of the app *2024-07-25, version 1.5* System does a great job but the app and integration in home automation systems is woeful. Please someone somewhere start making the app from the ground up and upgrade the firmware on the connect 10 units to work with the new app. ### 1/5 — No point. *2024-06-11* Really limited functionality. Not worth the money to achieve, well, nothing really. ### 1/5 — Bad bad bad *2024-01-27, version 1.5* I agree with many others, this app is bad, clunky and unbelievably slow. Typical business model of a dominant seller of product in the market to not offer any leading in the app, why would you need to, you have bought your overpriced pool equipment and there is nothing more. ### 1/5 — Sluggish and in need of an update *2023-10-23, version 1.5* The mobile app platform is incredibly out of date and ready for a revamp. Platform is sluggish and slow, and just a HTML wrapper. For a platform that is still being sold and marketed by the pool industry, it is in serious need of modernisation. The backend platform to connect equipment is robust, but the app has not aged well, nor had any investment in atleast 4-5 years. ### 1/5 — Suggestions *2023-10-13, version 1.5* Please update the app. No upgrades for years. Plenty of feedback in these reviews which would be simple to implement. Why are customers being ignored? ### 1/5 — Great app if you’re using an iPhone 4s *2023-09-12, version 1.5* Is there going to be any update to this app? Very slow, functionality is limited. Paid a pretty penny for the wifi option, seriously regret it. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 3/5 — Ok *2021-12-28, version 1.5* This app works fine. There is a bit of a delay that would be nice to fix but that may not be the app and may be the system. These super neg comments about astral sound like user problems. All of my system works great, four years in. Pool is crystal clear and nice and warm. ### 3/5 — Functional but dated *2019-02-16, version 1.5* We’ve had our pool and Astral equipment for just over a year now. This is hooked up to an equilibrium and viron connect to control via this app. The app is functional allowing us to turn on, off or set auto all of the viron connected units like the filter/pump, waterfall, spa, gas heater. We also have pool lighting and you can set theme modes or just solid colours from a range. We get feedback on current water temps, set the heater output temp, and with the PH sensor option see the water balance. You can do all this from anywhere and overall I am very happy with these features. There are some drawbacks however. The app is a little clunky, hasn’t been updated for newer phones, only works in portrait mode. Feedback can be a little slow at times. It logs out very quickly leading to constant logins pretty much every time you put your phone down. It lacks some feedback like it’s hard to tell if the spa heater is running unless you are seeing the temp go up. Messages from the equilibrium are not shown such as low salt or acid. You can not control dosing so must be done manually via the unit. Again these are criticisms of the app and controls but I am generally happy with how everything works. It would be nice to see some improvements and I feel it would be more professional of Astral to provide a modern app especially given today’s society and expectations. ### 3/5 — Useful but dated *2017-07-01, version 1.3* Great and convenient app to control your pool from anywhere. However the app is basically a wrapper around a HTML website. It looks as if it's still 2007 - really needs an upgrade to bring it to the modern era. Also it's quite laggy - a lot of wheel spinning.
