### 2/5 — Good outlet poor app

*2021-12-26, version 5.0.6*

The app resets HomeKit settings every time it’s opened. Use of HomeKit is fine for me - I wish I could use the energy usage reporting and firmware updates through HomeKit app because I don’t like having to rename all my devices every time I open this app

### 1/5 — Flakey

*2021-10-19, version 5.0.6*

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. As with a lot of hyped technology, this product is not ready for prime time.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2021-10-13, version 5.0.5*

What a terrible app. It’s 100% unusable. It forces you to name your home but doesn’t have a working save button. The add device screen pops up and goes away when you hit the plus. I’m quite a bit of money into one device and I can’t even get it added to my network. How did they even go to launch like this???

### 1/5 — Useless for Arlec Smart Power Outlet

*2021-09-16*

Wasted 90 minutes and simply doesn’t recognise compatible devices automatically or manual setup. A sad joke

### 1/5 — Won’t Connect

*2021-04-18, version 5.0.3*

I have two in wall connect sense outlets. Neither one will connect to the App or HomeKit. I’ve reset both of them indicated by the red light and gone through the install process in the App and also via HomeKit and each device blinks green and the the App and HomeKit says ‘Unknown error occurred’ and the device never connects. I’ve gone through the procedure 20 times or more and the result is always the same. The App is also very poor in terms of use and the process literally takes 3 minutes to just fail. It seems like such a simple process and yet these devices never work. The App should connect to these devices in 30 seconds or less and not take 3 minutes to just fail. I really don’t understand why companies can not make a WiFi in wall outlet, this is the 2nd device I’ve tried with iConnect being the first.

### 1/5 — Routine don’t work poor support

*2021-03-24, version 5.0.3*

Routines and triggers don’t work and support is worthless

### 1/5 — I can’t get it to register

*2020-08-07, version 4.0.1*

I can’t get the wall unit to register so I can see the data or connect it to Alexa

### 1/5 — Device unresponsive

*2020-06-09, version 4.0.1*

I have to reset and set up my outlet every other week. As it gets unresponsive in Home app as well. Please update the firmware

### 1/5 — Will not stay connected

*2020-04-22, version 4.0.1*

20A outlet connects and sets up a schedule, but changes to no response during the night. Waste of tome. This is the only device I have ever had do this annoying behavior. Poorly engineered, especially with virtually zero support. Only bought this device because it’s one of few 20 amp outlets. Sending it back today.

### 2/5 — I’d rather use HomeKit

*2019-12-04, version 4.0.1*

I was finally able to install the firmware update, but this is the only reason I have the app. If it was possible to trigger the installation of firmware updates from HomeKit, I would never use this app.

### 1/5 — Stopped working!

*2018-12-07, version 3.0.0*

Wi-Fi completely stopped working, and will no longer connect to my app. Tried re-downloading again and again, but keep getting error problems. Now, just use it as a regular plug. Will look elsewhere for something better.

### 1/5 — Stay away

*2016-12-09, version 2.3.1*

Not sure if it's Apple HomeKit or this particular outlet but they do not play well together.
This is not a user error as I have other devices set up and working perfectly well with HomeKit.

Stay away. Wasted money and more importantly; time.

### 1/5 — Would give zero if possible

*2016-11-10, version 2.3.1*

The concept of the app and the smart outlet is great when it works 100% of the time. Most of the time I find myself closing and opening the app because when I go the smart outlet appears to be offline even though it's connected to the Internet. You guys should get better at that. Also it switches back to old layouts and back to new layout when I close and open the app.

### 1/5 — Hardware is ok but app certainly isn’t

*2026-07-13, version 6.4.1*

hardware installation and manual operation was ok. Couldn’t get the app to establish an account. Kept getting error messages “Objectobject,” whatever that means.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2025-04-02, version 6.3.1*

App crashes when trying to add an already added device.

### 1/5 — Unable to add device

*2024-11-01, version 6.2.4*

App just crashes every time I attempt to add a device.

### 1/5 — Update from Company

*2024-02-07, version 6.1.2*

Just talked to their support team… They no longer support this product, and it is no longer being made… Time to switch to a better solution.

### 1/5 — The most unstable app

*2023-12-29, version 6.1.0*

Even when your device does eventually connect to this app it won’t be for long. It takes multiple 10-30 tries to pair. After a few weeks in wall plug needs to be factory reset and it’s all over again.

### 1/5 — Good hardware with garbage software

*2023-12-21, version 6.0.8*

The app crashes constantly - trying to add device, trying to update device, trying to add existing HomeKit device, trying to login with Apple iCloud. The outlets aren't any better: pairing them takes an hour of back and forth.

### 1/5 — Dropped access to HomeKit

*2023-10-07, version 6.0.8*

Used to be great app (but krufty UI) for granular control of HomeKit devices & automatons. Recent update dropped access to devices throughout Home. ...I don't have any ConnectSense devices, but would have paid for the old app control.

### 1/5 — App Instantly Crashes

*2023-07-22, version 5.0.10*

For several months now, this app continually crashes upon open. Uninstall, power cycle, reinstall… Makes no difference. No support documentation online or elsewhere, so save yourself from frustration and avoid.

### 1/5 — Gets worse with every new update

*2022-07-27, version 5.0.6*

It’s a disaster, every update makes the use of the app more convoluted and difficult to work. Talk about building something with your hands and destroying it with you feet. My devices are un-programmable at this point, cannot even remove them from the app.

### 1/5 — Garbage App, Garbage Product

*2021-12-25, version 5.0.6*

I have 30 Apple home products attached. The in wall switches are the only ones that don’t stay connected within the native app or home app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Since new products

*2025-09-17, version 6.4.0*

This app has transformed from a HomeKit app, to one that supports their newer products. Ever since they ditched HomeKit it has been a smoother experience with rich features. If you want HomeKit, just use the Home app.. that is what it is for.

### 5/5 — Connectsense customer service is superb!

*2022-06-29, version 5.0.6*

I had one device with a firmware issue and another that just wouldn’t pair. The app didn’t help any at first, but once I sent an email to customer service, they helped with everything and were very knowledgeable, clear spoken, and professional!
We started a google meet session and the customer service rep ran me through everything on the advanced side to troubleshoot and fix.

### 5/5 — Solid Experience

*2018-12-06, version 2.5.1*

On-boarding process was smooth and efficient. I connected the device to my network in less than a minute. Device changes are being reflected in HK as well. The device types and icons are very useful when decided what I should plug into the unit. Hopefully there are more products coming from the ConnectSense team!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2017-03-05, version 2.3.1*

Worked flawlessly with easy setup. Excellent product, excellent app

### 5/5 — Lovely

*2016-03-24, version 2.2.4*

Interface is a delight to use, making it quick and easy to toggle settings as required. Perfect!

### 5/5 — One of the best HomeKit apps.

*2015-12-14, version 2.1.0*

Works great with a custom HomeKit solution, even though I don’t own one of the ConnectSense outlets. Kudos for opening this free app up to all HomeKit accessories. The UI/UX of this app blows the others out of the water.

One minor request, please open up the ability to change an accessory's icon, even if it isn’t on a ConnectSense outlet. I would like my ceiling fans to have a fan icon instead of a light bulb.

Again, great job!

### 5/5 — Innovation at its Finest!

*2015-09-25, version 1.0.0*

This technology and the app works really well. Make sure you have the outlet from ConnectSense. I love the fact that I can turn the lights on when I'm NOT at home. Great company.

### 4/5 — please add this feature…

*2023-08-24, version 6.0.5*

Please add more accurate estimate energy usage by incorporating electricity time of day usage rates.

### 4/5 — Beats Getting Up

*2018-05-14, version 2.5.1*

It’s a great smart home solution for standard electrical devices. It also integrates with other smart home solutions.

Configuring a Connect Sense device is simple, the Scenes are more involved but still intuitive. I use the app for Connect Sense products only. I use my other smart home products’ Siri access commands.

Sometimes the app shows a device offline and powering the device off & on clears the problem. Other times resetting and reinstalling the device is necessary to bring the device back online.

Though fixing a non communicative offline device is reasonably simple, it’s not reasonable to have to endure the inconvenience so I rated the product an overall 4. It would definitely be rated a 5 if it were consistently reliable.

I just downloaded another firmware upgrade; maybe that fixed the occasional offline aggravation.

### 3/5 — Please fix the set up

*2017-07-06, version 2.3.1*

When I download the app I typed in my house name and it said "syncing to iCloud". I came back five minutes later and it still said it. I tried everything and nothing. I hope they see this review and fix the problem.
