### 4/5 — Helpful app

*2023-06-25*

This app lets me make most of the adjustments needed to my hearing aids, but it doesn’t let me alter the volume of each earpiece, something I really need, and it doesn’t give me the model number of my aids, I can’t select more detailed information online. The battery status is of questionable value - it usually gives 3 beeps even when the battery is about to die. This may be due to the battery discharge curve having a sharp cutoff. I like being able to modify the frequency response, but I wish I could change the relative volume of the earbuds.

### 4/5 — Unfortunate Change

*2022-12-15, version 2.60.1*

I have had the app for almost five years and have generally been pleased with it. The first version had a rough way to check remaining battery life, either three, two or one beep depending on how close to the end. The new version does not and I rated it “4” as a result to lower it from a “5” it would otherwise deserve.

### 3/5 — Where is the battery strength test screen?

*2022-06-13, version 2.60.1*

After getting a new phone,I had to download the app again. Unfortunately, it no longer has the screen that allows you to test the battery strength. What happened?

### 3/5 — Add option for iCloud

*2021-12-13, version 2.60.1*

Is there an option to save the device settings with iCloud that in a situation where the device is restored to factory settings the information of the hearing devices are saved?

### 4/5 — Save option

*2021-09-13, version 2.60.1*

Someone mentioned a save option when you have adjusted your hearing aid to where you are satisfied with the results it should be saved..That is a very good idea And should be applied to the app ..

### 2/5 — It’s a real nusance

*2021-07-15, version 2.60.1*

For some reason my settings always revert back to the off position. The little picture shows full range, half range to a reduced range. After I set it to what ever range i would like, it works for a while then reverts back to off. I wonder if it’s a bug. I wouldn’t recommend the app to anyone till this is resolved.

### 3/5 — Very good, but...

*2021-03-30, version 2.60.1*

The app works well for most things, but, as other reviewers have reported, every time you take your hearing aids out, the app resets to a default, low gain level. You need to have a way to save the optimal settings for each individual user so that you don't have to reset it every time you put the hearing aids back in.

### 4/5 — Reston Hearing Aid App

*2020-11-04, version 2.60.1*

Very handy app to change volume levels or if you are listening to music. The battery level feature needs work though. It always seems to beep twice indicating half power and then I go out and they die two hours later.

### 2/5 — Not worth the $$$$

*2020-09-17, version 2.60.1*

The only worthwhile feature these hearing aids have is the GPS which allowed me to find one when it was misplaced. Since I have on them they have been plagued with performance issues and they were finally replaced this past week because they were just absolutely going nuts. I just received the replacements today. There is essentially a new replacement and when I got them home I had static continuously in my right ear.

### 2/5 — Ok but at times aggravating to use

*2020-04-25, version 2.60.1*

I’ve used this daily for the past year to control my hearing aids. It’s definitely easier to control them with this app then with the small buttons on the hearing aids. But it gets frustrating when you constantly get a Bluetooth connection conflict error, by just being passively connected but not using any other Bluetooth device, as when you just get in your car. The developers can do better...

### 3/5 — Connect Smart Remote

*2019-12-16, version 2.60.1*

The Costco Signature 7 has served me for 2 years. I would like to see the behind the ear piece a little smaller. The piece in the ear was molded for my ear ( very comfortable). The manufacturers need to figure out a way for the hearing aids to be adjusted separately. One is extremely sensitive to loud noises and one is not. When I turn down the volume in your app on my iPhone 8 Plus, the message I receive is turn up volume or the device will not work properly “too low”. I have tried EARGO
(another hearing aid) which is much smaller and fits directly into the ear, but it has a hard body and is uncomfortable in my ear. But, I must say the sound quality is clearer ( not too loud, just more natural sounds). The reason I am sharing my experiences with you is because I loved the customer care I received at Costco and I believe if you make a few adjustments to you Signature 7 series you would be able to flood the market with an award winning hearing aid. Truly I hope my suggestions are practical and feasible.

### 3/5 — App on phone conflicts with car Bluetooth

*2019-10-18, version 2.50.1*

When in my car, the app is inoperable because my phone is connected to car’s Bluetooth.
Second, it would be nice to be able to name my 4 settings. I don’t use them often but , for example, when I want to muffle background noise in a restaurant, I can’t remember if that is setting 1, 2, 3, or 4, so I have to cycle through all 4.

### 2/5 — Mostly Frustrating

*2019-09-16, version 2.50.1*

Usually, when trying to change the volume on my hearing aids, I get an error message that my smartphone volume is too low and that it must be increased for the app to work. This makes no sense, since it isn’t compatible with streaming.

The audio transfer from handset to hearing aids rarely functions with my iPhone. I have better success using it when placing a call. It will not transfer after receiving a call.

### 3/5 — Some pro, some con

*2019-07-28, version 2.40.1*

Downloaded a couple of years ago when I first got my hearing aids. I really liked that I could use the app to control my aids without messing with the buttons on the aids. Had to re-download a few months ago after I had to reset my phone. The new version no longer has the battery health feature, which I found useful. Now the app frequently stops working, and I have close it and lock the phone before it works again. I’m hoping an update will address these issues.

### 3/5 — Ok but needs improvements.

*2019-07-22, version 2.40.1*

App is okay but needs improvements. Be nice to connect to my Mac laptop and other devices without having all these extra costly devices.
Be nice to set each ear individually with out help of specialist. Could use updates.
Good note I do like the mute phase able to control volume by using phone. Since my buds do not have a volume control on them.

### 3/5 — Basic

*2018-10-12, version 2.40.1*

It is a very basic HA app. Not bad, not spectacular. Unfortunately it does not update to the HA setting when they are turned on after being turned off. That is an issue with both HAs that are compatible and the app itself.

While in use, the controls are adequate and respond quickly. If you have several programs on the HAs, each can be set with a specific volume and/directional mic. It does the job.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Save. Please save.

*2022-02-27, version 2.60.1*

Why do I have to readjust the hearing aids every morning? Why isn’t there a way to save the setting I use most? Having to continually change the settings seems counterproductive. No wonder olde people who have less ability to find the tiny buttons give up on their hearing aids. If I only go to a place with a t coil once a week, I might only need to change it once a week. Not every single morning.

### 1/5 — Wearer

*2021-11-04, version 2.60.1*

Audiologist adjusted my hearing so loud it distorts. I want to turn down my left hearing aid and cannot. I can turn both down but not just one. Also I have it connected via Bluetooth to my phone and it won’t allow full control unless I disconnect it from my phone. I don’t understand that logic.
So I just want to do one thing. Turn down my left hearing aid and cannot. Ughh. One star

### 1/5 — Hearing aid service

*2020-11-03, version 2.60.1*

Very poor service from retailer I was told I was very waxy and that was the problem according to my phone the right battery needs to be replaced why couldn’t they find that now that the warranty is up i will have to pay for something that should have been taken care of before one star service rating can’t compare to anything else this is the first pair i have had

### 1/5 — Can’t support 2 Bluetooth devices running at the same time

*2019-10-31, version 2.50.1*

I have to turn the Bluetooth off on my Apple Watch to use this app. Even a cheap pair of ear plugs that I have can run perfectly with the Bluetooth turned on on my Apple Watch. Looks like I won’t be using this app even though I’d like to be able to use my iPhone to control volume and listen to music. This program needs work.

### 1/5 — Aweful

*2017-12-03, version 2.40.1*

This app is bad. I cannot store different personalizations. If I take the time to adjust it for business meetings that I attend, the app automatically switches back to auto adjust after 20 min. This makes it hard to conduct meetings and interviews. I cannot stop the meeting and play with the settings every 20 min. If I want to set different programs I have to go to the hearing center and they set the programs based on what they think I need, but I can’t do testing until I leave and try it out in the real world. I have been back to the hearing center 4 times I the past 2 months to get the programs right and they still are not right. This would be taken care of, if I could create my own programs. I don’t understand the logic of this app... It is completely worthless.

### 1/5 — Terrible. Can not emphasize enough.

*2017-11-22, version 2.40.1*

The app doesn’t work the majority of the time.

In the morning the app gives an error message “can’t control because volume is set to low/high”. I have set the volume the night before. There is no way to get past this message.

The directional setting is a fantastic idea I was very excited to have this. I work in sales and have many meetings at Starbucks (so awesome). The setting time out after 15 minutes. How is that a good thing?

Before you think that I’m just doing it wrong: I have been back to Costco and confirmed that all of this happens and there is no way to prevent it. I am returning these for the Resound. Am told they are better. The app/aids have more features that actually work.

Very happy with Costco and the support I received.

### 1/5 — Horrible does not do what it should

*2017-07-17, version 2.40.1*

If you set it up manually there is a battery status function but there is no directional microphone function. If it is setup by scanning the barcode there is a directional microphone function but no battery status function. App loses its Bluetooth pairing the minute you get into a car to which the phone is paired. Horrible needs tons of debugging

### 2/5 — Fairly worthless app

*2022-07-17, version 2.60.1*

With all that can be done nowadays, this is a disappointment. Almost nothing can be done with this app. The settings that are changeable don’t really make any difference so why change them? Then why use the app? For that reason, I never use it.

### 2/5 — Not the quality I explected

*2022-04-27, version 2.60.1*

I t tried several different hearing aids before settling for the Rexton. Two years later I am sorry I purchased them. They have limited adjustment features (ie background noise suppression, cellphone connectivity, directional adjustment). Also, the sound quality varies. Some days it’s fine, other days it’s like I’m hearing in a cave. Sometimes the sound variance occurs the same day. Bad choice on my part. I’m in the process of evaluating a replacement pair. I won’t make the same mistake twice.

### 2/5 — Nice but needs work

*2021-10-14, version 2.60.1*

When I open the app I can’t do much. I am blind and the app doesn’t fully work with Voice over. Voice over is the screen reading program that comes installed with the iPhone ohS. Kind of ironic that an app built for the disabled does not consider all forms of disabilities.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2019-10-23, version 2.50.1*

Love this app I finally switched from the one Costco installed which never worked properly. I advise you switch to this app it works seamlessly.

### 5/5 — This basic app does exactly what it says it will do

*2019-10-06, version 2.50.1*

I had been wearing behind the ear hearing aids for several years but I was never able to get used to the loud scratching sound when I put on/took off my reading glasses or sun glasses.
I got these small in the ear canal Reston Adore IX hearing aids at Costco and installed the app with no problems. The app is not as functional as the one with my other hearing aids, but it does exactly what it says it will do. I am very happy.

### 5/5 — Remote review

*2019-09-07, version 2.50.1*

I hated these aids until I got the app to control them. I now really enjoy the aids since I have so much control over what they do and how they assist me in my hearing loss. The app is wonderful. Thank you so much. And it’s FREE!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2019-08-19, version 2.50.1*

My Mom is 82 and was worried about using an app to control her hearing aids. She’s found that this is easier than adjusting the volume and settings directly on the hearing aids as she has developed some motor issues. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — HAS APPROVED!

*2019-04-26, version 2.40.1*

As a Hearing Aid Specialist, I really like this app. It IS SIMPLE! For a very basic priced hearing aid, the Rexton Emerald, it is nice to have the option of controlling volume and program with an app. It is much easier for those with dexterity issues. It is also good to have the visual clues. Over all I really like it!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2018-11-25, version 2.40.1*

I have had Rexton hearing aids for more than a year. I love this app because I can control every function remotely. Thank you for making life a little easier! 👂

### 5/5 — This is so helpful!

*2018-10-16, version 2.40.1*

I teach students using online curriculum and it’s so helpful to be able to adjust my hearing to my right, left or in front of me. Especially since my teenage students tend to talk softly and not enunciate well.

### 5/5 — Good So Far

*2018-09-08, version 2.40.1*

Great app so far. Only been using a week. My hearing aid needs to be adjusted a wee bit before I can fully utilize the app. Any body know where to get an inexpensive but sturdy around the neck loop for streaming and Bluetooth?

### 5/5 — Love it!!

*2018-08-21, version 2.40.1*

Works perfectly every time using my iPhone. It’s wonderful being able to change what I am hearing according to my environment within seconds.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-05-02, version 2.40.1*

No problems, straightforward interface, and basic functionality! Like the battery status feature!
