I used it everyday for my job. I love that I can quickly convert from metric to imperial. It was well worth the cost when I originally purchased it. Now when I open the calculator I have to select a section and if I want it to stay on that section every time I use the app, I have to pay a premium! Why must we always fix things that aren’t broken. The calculation is not reliable anymore either. I did a simple multiplication on it yesterday and it gave me an answer with an extra 0 in it. Extremely disappointed. Another update and another problem. There is no way to contact this creator to advise of an issue so I’m adding it to my review. When working to get an area and it gives me ft2 for example, if I hit the answer button to further calculate volume it takes the 2 in ft2 and turns it into an exponent causing the answer to be completely wrong. Please fix. ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-02-24* I bought this a few years ago in a lump sum to be able to use this app for life. It got an update 2 days ago. When i opened this app today, it asked me to pay to get rid of the advertisement windows at the bottom of the screen. Really? **Developer response:** Hello, I believe there may have been some confusion. Until recently, our Construction Calculator app was ad-free. However, we introduced ads as a means to sustain our livelihood from the app. If you could send a copy of your original purchase receipt to our support email, we should be able to resolve this issue. I thought I could restore purchase to get premium functions. But surprisingly no way. This is how they treat old paid customers. But they’ve recently changed the app so that results are ONLY shown in decimal format unless you pay $5/month or $40/year. That’s an insanely high price for a fraction calculator. They’re insane. There are other, better options. I could buy a standalone calculator fr CI for a one-time payment of less than $40. Annual? Nuts. So while I used to use this, I’m now deleting it as I’m not paying $40/year for a calculator, and it’s utterly useless otherwise. ### 1/5 — No more results in fractions? Adding two fractional measurements now shows the result in decimals… literally the whole reason I was using the app is now gone. It advertises a free trial, but I was charged immediately. That is false advertising and completely unacceptable. If you advertise a free trial, customers should not be billed right away or misled about when charges will occur. I am demanding a full refund immediately. I downloaded this app because it clearly stated there was a free trial. I did not expect to be charged as soon as I signed up. I will never recommend this app to anyone. My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I consider these billing practices misleading and unfair. It's a calculator, no fuss, no muss, it did the job well for DIY projects. As a calculator, it's not like this app needs constant updates or feature creep. But now they have switched the app to a subscription model. $40.00 a year for a calculator. A Calculator! I can still access the features I paid for. But you first have to see a new home screen that shows you the other features the app wants you to pay a subscription model to use. It doesn't just launch into the calculator I already paid for. I know the economy is rough for everyone.
