### 3/5 — Easy to photo, Exports wrong

*2023-11-25*

Contact Snapper is pretty good at photographing business cards and getting many of the fields right. The problem is the export - with excel, it exports phone numbers into stacked cells in one merged-cell row for each contact, which means the fields don't match up with import tools. Forget importing to Salesforce, for example, it skips addresses, and Outlook won't take a multi-contact .vcf file for some reason. So if you use Contact Snapper as your contact app, you're in good shape, but if you use Outlook or Salesforce, this doesn't work.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review. The Excel export was not designed to be used as an import for other Apps but we'd be happy to improve it and see if we can address your concerns. Also note that CS can automatically sync your contact with Outlook. Don't hesitate to contact us at support@handl.co, we'll get back to you immediately.

### 2/5 — Misses email adresses

*2023-09-14, version 5.3.5*

Sometimes totally fails to capture email addresses. Puts email addresses and website URLs in fields generically named "Work".

### 2/5 — Great App. Constantly Crashes

*2023-06-29, version 5.3.2*

Great app. Great price. Fantastic OCR. Constantly crashes.

### 4/5 — Minimalist, functional… but butt-ugly

*2023-06-22, version 5.3.1*

I am torn. It does almost everything I would ask of a business card scanner app (pretty accurate OCR, card scans saved with each contact, sync with iOS contacts is optional), there are few bugs (e.g. doesn't let me assign contacts to groups on iPhone SE iOS 16.5) and I miss only a few features (e.g. export individual contacts to iOS address book).

The price is more than fair (honestly, you should charge more!). The only real problem is that the user interface looks atrocious. It looks even worse than the screenshots you can see on the App Store page. I would love to love this product, but with this look, using it will always feel like a chore.

### 2/5 — Constant crashes

*2023-02-01, version 5.1.11*

9/10 crashes any time you try to edit information or address

### 2/5 — How do I export contacts?

*2019-10-23, version 4.7.7*

I’ve downloaded the top level app and asked the question of contact but I have not yet received a response.
Other than that I love the app

### 3/5 — Waiting for your update...

*2019-08-23*

This app is good, that’s because I decided to buy it almost 3 months ago, but after having the full version, I found out that this app doesn’t show the imagen of the side 2 of the business cards, which is too bad since you need the both sides information. I wrote to the support team and they said to me that they will fix this issue up in the next update and I’m still waiting for that wonderful day since then...

### 2/5 — More work

*2019-06-03*

I have several issues with this hence the low rating....
#1. I have this app on a 9” tablet and I can just about read the text because it is so small. Way too small for a phone, even the newer big ones.
#2 It has no idea that people often have designations after their names and it gets confused by not being aware that “PhD” is a professor or “LLD” is a lawyer or “LC, IALD , LEED,, AP” is an architect.
#3 No place for the Ext after main phone number
#4 cannot edit the email address without pressing edit...but you can edit the phone number....prior to saving. It should not be considered a hyperlink until saved!
#5 It cannot read a dark card with white lettering
#6 it cannot save capitalized initials in the name of a company so IBM becomes Ibm or SAG becomes Sag
#7 does not learn anything....like the previous entry when you get 12 cards at a presentation.
#8 It does not capitalize the name of a city in the address section....
#9 does not put a comma after the city
#10 in the phone number section the categories should be MAIN, DIRECT, MOBILE....not Home
#11 I will repeat that it is WAY TOO SMALL A FONT.....I have it on the largest setting and it is near impossible to read
#12

### 5/5 — Most complete App

*2018-12-13, version 4.6.4*

Greatest and most amazing App ever for business card. It does what it should. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Sitting on the fence

*2018-12-01, version 4.6.4*

I’ve been asked to pay for this app 3 times now. It works well. I think the interface could be fresher and better designed. It looks like it was made in the 90s but it’s functional.

### 3/5 — Some good some bad

*2018-11-14, version 4.6.4*

Good to be able to store business cards. However the user interface is clunky, cluttered and not user friendly. Specifically I have a 100% requirement to add required information and delete clutter that the scan process adds every time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Duplications

*2024-07-26, version 5.4.13*

The app keeps duplicating contacts in both the app itself and in the iPhone contacts. The duplications continue 6-8 times! No customer service to assist with this problem!

### 1/5 — Broken

*2024-01-21, version 5.4.5*

Stopped working after latest update.

### 1/5 — What happened to my contacts?

*2023-06-10, version 5.2.5*

I downloaded Contact Snapper a few weeks ago and spent time entering several cards for business contacts. Now I have opened it. the app again and my contacts are gone. What happened?

### 1/5 — 5.1.7

*2022-10-11, version 5.1.7*

Contact snapper is immensely valuable when it works.
However latest update on iPad and iPhone with iOS 16, presents a splash screen only, with no way of getting further in to the app.
So I can’t comment on the effectiveness of this update

### 1/5 — Can’t edit where the text is misread

*2020-12-29, version 4.7.12*

Ver fiddly & annoying

### 1/5 — Really?

*2020-03-12, version 4.7.12*

Bought the app in the past but now it wants me to pay for it again. Tried to email the company but email bounced back undelivered. Not happy.

### 1/5 — Misleading sales options?

*2019-03-09*

I purchased the text only option and I cannot save any card information. Every time
I try to save I get a message asking if I want to upgrade to text and photos. I choose no thanks and try to save again only to get the same message. Am I being force to spend more to use the app I already purchased? And for more money than if I had gone with the more expensive option initially? This is not right.

### 1/5 — The free aspect is what made this app great. Now the greed has made it lousy

*2018-11-11, version 4.6.4*

Don’t waist money on this. You’ll be paying to have to make too many manual corrections. When is was no charge I didn’t mind but when I’m paying I expect better quality.

### 1/5 — Scan

*2018-10-26, version 4.6.4*

Scan seems to have gotten worst over the last few years

### 1/5 — Rip off.

*2017-09-25, version 4.5*

I bought the text only version so I could save the data from business cards.

After I scanned the card and tried to save the data – it wouldn’t let me without upgrading AGAIN because it included a photo. I don’t want to save the photo.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Does Just What I Needed

*2025-06-17*

This app has helped me in the transition to a new profession. As I have made dozens of new connections, Contact Snapper has helped me capture their cards and transfer that information to my apple contacts. I am very pleased that there is no type of subscription required and no attempts to make in-app sales. When I stumbled upon a strange scanning glitch caused by a specific person’s card, support was very responsive.

### 5/5 — Great tool

*2024-12-22, version 5.5.4*

Exactly what I was looking for, simple and very powerful!!

### 5/5 — Anti

*2024-03-29, version 5.4.9*

So far, so good…

### 5/5 — Best BC Scanner

*2024-03-08*

This App is perfect at scanning BC but also does so much more. The syncing between my iPad and iPhone is perfect. So simple to get my contacts in my device Contacts App. Tried similar Apps and they were either completely overpriced or not very accurate. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Schneller Support, nachhaltige Pflege

*2024-02-12, version 5.4.7*

Der Support ist exzellent. Und die Pflege der Software ebenfalls. Gute Funktionalität. Aus meiner Sicht das Beste was es seit Jahren auf dem Markt gibt.

### 5/5 — Best scanner and great developers

*2023-10-24*

I looked at a lot of card scanner apps and this one does everything the others do without locking you in to expensive annual payment plans. The scanning function works great and I like that I can export the contacts, group them, see their location on a map, and so much more that’s packed into this app.
I was recently having issues with the app and I emailed support about it and they got right on it and fixed the problem. I was not expecting that. Service was great. They fixed the issue but they also followed up with me multiple times throughout that process to update me on the status. Great app, great developers. I highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — So Far, So Good

*2020-04-21*

This is my first Business Card scanning app, and so far it works as advertised: simple, effective, easy to use.

I was drawn to the Contact Snapper because it doesn’t require a subscription and it seamlessly integrates with my devices address book. What’s not to like?

### 5/5 — Best App for business contacts

*2019-02-07*

Great app if you want to keep all of your business contacts separate. Only thing I would like to see is if someone calls from a business it puts up who they are.

### 5/5 — Best Contact Management App on the Market!!!

*2019-02-04*

Been using Contact Snapper for a few months now and I’ve got to say I’m VERY impressed. Get the pro version if you’re using it for business purposes, the export to excel feature is awesome!!

### 5/5 — What a snap! Puts the counts into Outlook and Google with almost no fuss

*2019-01-17, version 4.6.4*

Awesome and efficient! Has only missed something on three cards out of the 150!
