There is nothing particularly nefarious or dangerous about that business model; however, once you open this app in particular, you will be met with a screen that asks you to start a paid subscription or start a free-trial. If you start the free trial, you will need to ensure that you cancel it if you are no longer interested with the product or you will be charged ≈ $39.99 As an app that performs very basic functions of backing-up contacts and exporting them, I find the current business mode to be highly misleading to the common consumer, and borderline predatory practices.
