## What is Contact’Up?

Turn your contact files into a clean, organised and manageable address book.
Contact’Up brings together three powerful tools to help you import, inspect and clean up your contacts directly on your iPhone.

IMPORT
Import contacts quickly from CSV and VCF/vCard files.
• Automatically identify columns in your files, including Google Contacts CSV files.
• Map each column to the appropriate Apple Contacts field.
• Import all supported fields, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, companies, job titles, dates and more.
• Normalise your data before importing it.
• Enrich contact information when needed.
• Preview contacts before saving them.
• Review new contacts and updates to existing contact cards before applying them.
Whether you are importing an Excel list converted to CSV, an old database or a vCard file, Contact’Up helps you recover your contacts without entering them manually.

CONTACTS
Browse and inspect your existing contacts in an interface designed to make your address book easier to manage and organise.
• Browse your address book.
• Search for and inspect individual contacts.
• Find incomplete or inconsistent information.
• Keep track of new, updated and existing contacts (→ External modifications will be tracked in the future).
• Manage birthdays, anniversaries and dates of death as distinctive contact features.
• Create a shared household contact from an address and link related contacts.
Contact’Up helps you understand your data before you decide what to do with it.

CLEAN UP
Find the issues that make your address book harder to manage and fix them with precision.
• Detect duplicate and similar contacts.
• Link family members and related contacts effortlessly.
• Find incorrectly formatted names, phone numbers and addresses.
• Normalise contact information.
• Review suggested corrections.
• Compare different versions of a contact.
• Import data from a similar or linked contact.
• Choose which changes to keep.
• Track change history to avoid accidental deletions or unwanted updates (→ Full history of changes within the app available).
Important changes can be reviewed before they are applied, so you always know what will be created, updated or deleted.

CONTACT MANAGEMENT
Contact’Up is designed for people who want to:
• migrate contacts to a new iPhone
• import a professional contact list
• convert CSV or vCard files
• recover contacts from an old application
• clean up a disorganised address book
• detect duplicate and similar contacts
• fix incorrectly formatted data
• link family members and related contacts
• compare contacts before applying changes.

Your contacts are personal data. Contact’Up lets you review and control the operations performed on your address book.

Address-enrichment features use Apple Maps on your iPhone. Your address data is processed on your device and is not sent outside it.

Import your contacts. Review your data. Clean up your address book.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-31

Suggestions, rewritten.

A suggestion used to pile up at the top of a card. It now sits inside the
section it concerns, on one line, with a single tick to accept it — the same
control everywhere, whether it settles one value or a whole card.

ADDRESSES
• An address suggestion shows the address as it would read once accepted,
with the parts it changes standing out, instead of listing changed fields
  side by side.
• A street written over several lines is corrected line by line, under the
  line it concerns.
• One suggestion per address. A country spelled "Belgique" is now part of the
address suggestion rather than a second row saying the same thing.
• Checking with Maps is one action for the whole card, in the Addresses
section, instead of a button hidden inside every address.

NAMES AND LINKS
• A related name opens the card it names. Adding one suggests matching cards
  as you type.
• Rename a card and Contact’Up offers to update the cards still pointing at
  the old name.
• Related names and similar cards are one section now, with two jobs: link
them, or take what they know.
• People are named in full — prefix, suffix and all — everywhere in the app.
• Phonetic first and last names are now used when sorting, so a card filed
under a phonetic name lands where you filed it.

DATES
• Day, month and year are three fields you can clear one by one, and the
precision follows what you filled in. No more picking a precision from a
  menu.
• Fixed: a date holding only a year was treated as empty when two cards were
  compared.

ALSO
• Swipe to delete works again on rows inside a card.
• Rows in Clean Up are shorter, and all the same shape whatever they propose.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-26

Fixed: CSV files exported from Excel, Outlook, Numbers or Google Contacts could fail to import with "The file contains no data rows" — these files now import correctly.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-25

Merging or importing a contact? One screen now lets you choose your information field by field, with the source of every value always shown — no more guessing what was kept.

• More reliable duplicate merging: Contact'Up now tells a real duplicate apart from a family member or a relation, so two different people are never merged by mistake.
• History: every change is now recorded and can be undone, in full or field by field.
