Once again, Sony’s amazing camera hardware is backed up by shoddy software. I really wish they’d grow their software engineering team and hire some competent programmers. This is the company that’s had a “Paint” option in their menus for who knows how many years, so that seems unlikely

This is disappointing that you cannot control the menu system. Can’t change frame rates, aspect ratios and simply even iso or white balance. I will update my review when the app gets full functionality in place.

Connects FS5 to iPad and allows live view and start and stop of recording, but does not allow any playback of any clips.  Apparently you cannot “browse” any “content”.
The Gopro app works better than this.

1. It is a tedious process to connect
2. How can you monitor the camera with a resolution max of a astounding 480p image?

If you can’t monitor above 480p? What is the point of even having a monitoring feature? We should at minimum be able to monitor at 720p resolution.

This application seems to have been entirely forgotten. The resolution of the video feed is far worse than with the Imaging Edge Mobile app. The UI and controls feel outdated. 

And, basic features in the Imaging EdgeMobile app aren’t there, like setting the camera date and time.

Die App braucht man nicht herunterladen, die Tools, die sie können soll kann sie nicht. 

Für eine professionelle Kamera ziemlich schade. 

Grundsätzlich hätte ich das Tool spannend gefunden, wenn die App zuverlässig funktionieren würde.

I mean, unless you really need to watch yourself because you’re solo...there’s no real need for this app. I use it with my FS5 sometimes (if I remember I have it) and it’s honestly just good for monitoring what’s going on. Sure you can hit record but, you can also do that before you get in front of the camera. It’s not hard to cut that bit out.

Finally gave this a try on my FS5 II as I thought it would be the solution to helping me focus the camera while self shooting. The video stream sent to the app is unfortunately too low quality to be able to tell whether it’s properly in focus on not, there is no peaking, there is not focus magnification. And even though the app indicated it had successfully focused on my face by showing the green square (and my face is quite a large target to focus on!) what it had actually done is focus on the background, leaving me in soft focus. Now I need to reshoot the whole piece to camera. A swing and a miss from Sony - but please fix this because it could be so useful.

Got it to connect to the FS5 with most current firmware 4.03 suprisingly easily. Other than that it’s pretty worthless. I’m using an IPhone 6s Plus so maybe it’s too old?  But non of the limited functions work. I can hit record but can’t change iris or zoom or get focus.  Pretty worthless.

just spend 13000 euros on an sony fx9, app always loses connection to camera. camera streaming interface and connectabilty feels like nokia 1990. camera itself is fantastic but streaming horrible experience how can you do this to me and my clients. feels like old tech. not the only fx9 user with this problem.

Love this app as I am able to remotely operate my NXR-NX5R. 
I just did a Software update on my mac device from iOS 10.2.1 to 10.3.1 and now I am unable to monitor the camera from my mobile device. 
Please help

Z150 wifi connects to iphone OK. But CBM just says Compatible devices not found. (However it works with my Z280.) Is Z150 no longer supported???

Just got an FX9 and really would love to use this app with it. However there is no support for the 9 with IOS15. So although I can control the camera with the app I can’t see anything. Kid of pointless. Would love an update sometime soon.
