## What is ContextEcho?

ContextEcho is a restrained audio companion.

For runs, commutes, chores, or winding down at night, it reliably plays the Chinese and English podcasts and Bilibili or YouTube collections you actually want—day after day. When you come back, you can see how many days you've kept your streak, how many hours you've listened, and which shows you return to most.

No recommendation feed. No attention grabs. It does two things well: play steadily when you open it, and show you what you've been listening to when you return.

Open the app and continue from your last position—no hunting from the start. A Mini Player stays at the bottom so you can jump back to what's playing from almost anywhere.

Streaks, total listening time, your most-played shows, platform split, and a habit heatmap—a picture of your listening life. Open it once a day and know you're not just letting time slip by.

· Find it, bring it in
Search podcasts, Bilibili, and YouTube by name. Open a result to preview, then subscribe—no hunting for a link to paste.

· Shows you follow, collected for you
Bind the podcasts you follow to a smart collection; new episodes land automatically so you can keep listening in one place.

· Better listening
Smart Speed skips silences; Voice Boost lifts voices for easier listening. Time saved counts toward your stats.

· Quiet company
Lock screen, CarPlay, Control Center, and headphone controls are ready for runs, commutes, driving, and bedtime. No push notifications. No check-ins.

· One place for your sources
Chinese and English knowledge podcasts (RSS / Xiaoyuzhou), Bilibili videos and collections, and YouTube playlists share one timeline and one Learning Stats tab. Web articles are supported too.

· Offline first
Original text, markers, and notes are readable and editable offline. Nothing uploaded to the cloud. No account required.

· When a line is worth keeping
Double-tap your headphones, use the lock screen, Siri, or Control Center to drop a timestamped note without opening the app. Find it later in the episode detail when you need it. Invisible when you don't.

No recommendation feed, rating charts, or social discovery—you can search by name for shows you already care about and subscribe, but we won't scroll content at you. We don't build a knowledge base or auto-summaries. We're not a full-text translation tool or an English-learning app.

We care about one thing: when you open ContextEcho, it plays reliably; when you come back, you can see what you've been listening to.

• Search podcasts by name when you add content — and Bilibili or YouTube too. No more hunting for links to paste.
• Open a result to preview, then decide whether to subscribe. Getting to a show you want takes fewer steps.
• Smart collections: pick the shows you follow, and new episodes land automatically. Less manual tidy-up.
• Share a collection as a poster with a QR code. Friends scan it and get the same collection in their app.
• Filter by guest on a show page or in Inbox; search names when the list is long. Easier to find the episodes someone was on.
• Open a transcript while listening: copy a line, mark a moment, or loop a sentence — without guessing by ear alone.
• Sort Inbox by recently added so new imports don’t get buried under older updates.
• Mark an episode as listened when you’re done — no need to replay just to change the status.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-07-22

Open Home and your starred shows now live in Following: what's new, where you left off — one glance and you're caught up. Every podcast card lays out an episode outline: three chapters sampled from the beginning, middle, and end. Skim them first; if it's worth your time, tap in and start playing from that very second. If not, swipe past — no guilt attached.

Also in this release: Bilibili keeps playing on the lock screen, playback speed fine-tunes from 0.1x to 3.0x, thoughts and transcripts export to Markdown in one tap, downloads can stay Wi-Fi-only, and downloaded files get their own management page.

No algorithmic recommendations. No manufactured anxiety. You chose your subscriptions — you should choose what to play, too. Miss nothing. Pile up nothing.

This release brings "collections you can listen through" and "easier listening, episodes you can find again"—everything since 1.0 ships together in 1.2.

Collections (1.1)
• Play collection: starts from the first audio item in the current order; plays audio only—videos and articles are skipped; stops when the last track ends
• Pause, resume, previous, next, and jump to any track while playing; a progress panel at the bottom of the detail page
• Sort by import time or publish time for this session only (doesn't change how the collection is stored)
• Add content from inside a collection; paste a link to import and it joins automatically; duplicates are de-duplicated

Listening & favorites (1.2)
• Star an episode from the detail page; Learning Stats adds Starred Episodes—revisit anytime, swipe to unstar
• Mini Player now stays visible on All Sources, Source Management, show pages, and more—not just Home
• Bilibili and YouTube videos get ±15s seek buttons (fullscreen too)
• "Capture this moment" is now a small bookmark button that stays out of the way
